Happy Homemaker Monday

Hello my Friends ~

And hope you're having a wonderful Monday!

I was busy around the house this AM and then ran errands today, so finally sitting down to do HHM...so that's why posting this a little late. I hope you had a great weekend! It was a nice one here, if not a little chilly. I still got a nice walk in with Ruby. There was some hockey practices and Palm Sunday mass. Kiddos were busy with friends Saturday night so we caught up on shows and watched a movie. Started getting some things ready for Easter next weekend too. I also helped Annie yesterday with her German project - which was to make traditional raspberry cutout linzer cookies. Love girlie time with her like that! Now on to the week ahead...

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

It was cold and snowy on and off today - and may get some more tonight. Boo! Only low 30's today, but tomorrow and Wednesday are supposed to be in the upper 40's and warm - may even get some rain! Then back down in the 30's for the weekend. Weather in the northwoods ::sigh::

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:

Toast, 1/2 a grapefruit and coffee

RIGHT NOW I AM:

Listening to music, chatting with my daughter on and off about her day at school, and working on my planner for the week

AS I LOOK OUTSIDE MY WINDOW

Gray and looks like it's going to snow again

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE:

I can hear the dryer as the load is almost done and I will throw in another one. Pretty tidy overall, although I haven't been down to the media room lately (the kiddos' hangout often times) and I"m afraid what I may find down there. Lol!

ON THIS WEEK'S TO DO LIST:

More errands tomorrow, our son's pops concert, hockey practices (for summer hockey), visit MIL, bring meal to FIL, hospice volunteering, helping my Mom with some things at her place, do more in depth cleaning for Easter entertaining next weekend, work on menu and grocery list, kiddo religious ed wraps up this week

CURRENTLY READING:

WHAT I AM CREATING AT THE MOMENT

Some scrapbook stuff, but mostly focused on house Spring cleaning at the moment

NEW RECIPE I WANT TO TRY THIS WEEK:

German puff pancakes, the apricot BBQ chicken. I'm sorry I didn't post a recipe last week so will plan to post 2 this week - I will share the creme brulee french toast and the linzer cookies Annie & I made. I will plan to do those posts on Thursday. I can also share the nice and Springy sugar snap pea angel hair pasta recipe if anyone would be interested in that?

TIP OF THE WEEK:

No clue if this really works? I thought warm milk is supposed to do the trick?

FROM THE CAMERA:
How it looked around here this AM with the snow falling - Spring where are you??

sugar snap pea pasta was yummy :oP

Linzer cookies in the works!

Packaging them up

Lots of powdered sugar and raspberry preserves is the key ;)

Almost ready around here? Are you?

PRAYER, INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE OR DEVOTIONAL:
This week I need to ask for prayers my Friends. I had a mammogram recently and I now need to have a biopsy done next week. I'm thinking positive and that most likely it's nothing - but prayers and positive thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!

  1. What a great quote for this week! Prayers for you. We're on spring break here and I just said (although we have no snow) today has felt more like a snow day with rainy, cold weather than the first day of spring break. Hope you have a wonderful week ahead and great Easter!

  2. Prayers galore. I've had lots of friends who had biopsies and they all came out negative. I'm sure yours will as well.

Wish I could send you some spring. The trees are blooming around here and the daffodils are especially abundant this year. A little rain, however.

Annie is becoming a Kitchen Diva. The linzer is beautiful. I'm sure everyone was impressed.

I'm sure your Easter will be special. Photos, please.

Love to my special girls, P

  4. Will be praying for you Carrie, I've had the same fear years ago, so I know where your head is at. Things today have improved so much, so stay calm while waiting for your results. Hugs :)

You know how to keep busy with your family! I put some ceramic rabbits on my buffet, and I'm calling it a day for the decorating. I hate to put stuff away later ha ha. Enjoy your week and take care and don't overthink anything my dear.

  7. LOVE your inspiration! I have been having trouble sleeping so will be trying your spoonful of honey before bed for the next week or so to try it out. BIG HUGS going out to you and keeping you in my prayers for wonderful results of your biopsy. God is watching over you!

Wonderful cookies you two made. I hope you have a Happy Easter with your wonderful family.

  8. Aren’t linzer cookies fun to make? Definitely not something you want to do for a cookie exchange because they can be labor intensive, but they’re so pretty!

You know, I’ve never had success with warm milk as a remedy for insomnia. I’ll give honey or lemons a try since I love both ❤️

    Happy Easter!!
