Ooo La La Crepes!

Hi Folks!

Yay it's TGIF! The weekend is here. ;)  First of all, happy March my Friends. Secondly, thanks for all of the kind get well wishes. I finally went to the walk in and they had me do a nebulizer treatment thing and gave me a prescription for an inhaler and a med for my coughing. So after 3 weeks of coughing I'm finally going to kick this thing!!

But what I really popped in to share was Annie's Ooo La La Crepes with you. And you have to say this with a French accent even as you read it in your head. That's the rules from Annie. Anyway,  on national pancake day we didn't make pancakes, but we finally broke in Annie's new crepe pan and made crepes. They were really yummy! The pan worked brilliantly and I'm going to use it to make omelettes too... as it should work superbly to make them as well.

This is the pan that we have and I think I found it at Williams Sonoma. The box said it's made in Denmark. It worked beautifully.

We greased the pan with a little bit of butter. Then poured the batter slowly with one hand, while twirling the pan around with the other hand, to evenly distribute a thin layer. When it starts getting bubbly on top and browned on the bottom it's ready to flip.

I kept them warm between layers of foil as we made them.

We had ours with lemon filling and fresh berries. Some of my crew had them with syrup too. They were so tasty and had that perfect crepe texture.

And then, of course, we topped them with powdered sugar. Voila!  I think next time we were talking nutella with bananas and strawberries. Yum!  Here's the recipe for the batter:

1&1/2 c. flour
1 Tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 c. milk (we used 2%)
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 Tbsp melted butter

We mixed all of this together in a bowl with my immersion blender to make sure it was a nice very smooth batter. Enjoy xoxo

  1. Glad you are feeling better. Those inhalers are wonderful things, I had one when I was sick back in December and it made such a difference with getting better sooner, I thought. That pan is neat and of course, the crepes look so delicious!

  2. Oooh la la! Those crepes are very pretty, and I bet so good!
I'm so glad you got some treatment and hope you feel better quickly!

  3. Oh, those crepes look Good! I have been dreaming of a crepe pan, never had one, and mine are always misshapen from trying to turn them in a regular pan. Maybe I'll try for Mother's Day. Meanwhile, enjoy your yummy crepe variations.

  4. So glad you're feeling better and what an awesome way to celebrate it with crepes!!!! Have a great weekend.

  5. We were on a crepe making adventure a while ago. They are so versatile, but I found it made so many, that I was then overeating :( Annie's Ooo La La Crepese look delicious! Well done! Glad you're feeling better, and thank you for your encouraging words of friendship on mine Carrie. Happy Sunday!

  6. Hi Carrie! I love crepes. I've never made them at home but I love to order them at Ihop. :) Yours looked delicious with the fruit and the powdered sugar. I'm following you on google plus now.
    xx Beca

  7. thanks Beca! And thanks for following - it's so nice making new friends in blogland ;) xo

  8. I've been so busy fighting with my computer, I totally missed this post.

Ooo la la is right. They look absolutely scrumptious. Wish I'd been there.

I used to go to a restaurant called The Magic Pan where everything was crepes. I loved the savory ones with a bechamel sauce filled with chicken and mushrooms.

I know you'll come up with creative fillings of your own, so please fill us in when you do.

  9. I ADORE crepes and used to also go to Magic Pan and was so bummed when they closed. There's a crepe place here that's gotten some good reviews but haven't been yet.

I have that same pan but it's in storage. I've always found the first crepe is a disaster, but I eat it anyway lol.

Annie sounds like she's becoming quite the little chef!
