Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Monday Friends ~

I hope your week is off to a great start! I won't get into the politics thing as that's not what I like to share here...but I will say I'm grateful it's over and I don't need to listen to all the campaigning anymore! Lol And that I hope we can all move forward, come together and work to heal our nation. I would also like to report Annie and I were both covid free after our exposure a few weeks back. Thank goodness! But the biggest news of all is we're getting an addition to the family! We're picking up a new baby this week!!! A sheepadoodle puppy baby! And we're so excited!! 🐶 💕 Except maybe Ruby who has no idea what's about to hit. Lol 🙈 See pics below for a peek at her and the name already picked out by Ms Annie.

The weekend here was a pretty mellow one overall otherwise. Since we knew we were covid free my Mom came and had dinner and hung out. We talked all things new puppy. And I helped with more of her laundry too. The kiddos and I had some fun hanging out enjoying shows we like together and talking about the election as it played out.

It's a gray rainy day today, which makes me feel cozy and not ambitious but going to jump into the week ahead.

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING

fried egg on toast with butter & jam, coffee

HOW I AM FEELING THIS MORNING:

I'm feeling snuggly and lazy today and the rainy day doesn't help! Lol Been accomplishing some things around here nonetheless though

ON MY MIND:

Of course all things puppy!! And worrying about how long it will take until Ruby realizes she isn't leaving and will be living here. And I hope will see her as her buddy. All the equipment we still need to get for a puppy too. What did I do??? Lol I blame covid for giving me too much time to be at home. 😉

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE

It's dark. Some candles going and it feels cozy. I might need to bake something. 😋

CURRENTLY READING

Becoming Mrs. Lewis by Patti Callahan. It's all about the relationship between C.S. Lewis and Joy Davidman - the woman that would become his wife

ON THE TV TODAY:

HGTV shows, holiday baking shows, Dancing with the Stars, Amazing Race, The Spanish Queen, The Good Doctor, Little People Big World, Mad Men bingeing, Great British Baking Show bingeing, The Undoing

ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:

MONDAY - grilled cheese, tomato soup, salad

TUESDAY - chesapeake steak & lobster tail, oven fries, creamy lemon garlic sauce & mixed greens caeser (HF meal)

WEDNESDAY -  Italian chicken over lemony spaghetti with zucchini(Hf meal)

THURSDAY - bruschetta chicken, bacon mashed potatoes & broccoli (HF meal)

FRIDAY - ??

TO RELAX THIS WEEK I WILL:

read under a snuggly blanket, binge some shows, have mom for dinner & to play cards, work on holiday gift planning and Thanksgiving meal plans

FROM THE CAMERA:

This is the new baby we're picking up soon! Meet Tilly! Annie has always loved the name Matilda but we'll call her Tilly. We thought it was cute to go with Ruby too ❤️ Aaron deferred to us for the name. Lol
She'll be a lot bigger than Ruby, though, when she's full grown. Ruby is 30 lbs (she's a mini golden doodle). But Tilly is a standard sized sheepadoodle (english sheep dog + poodle) and will get to be probably double that or more!

The weather has been unseasonably warm, but the cold is on its way back. Walks have been more stark with all the leaves gone...but still so beautiful in its own way.

Ruby and I have been doing lots of snuggling and bingeing the GBB show right now. Look at that face. She's still my baby too and I keep apologizing for how her world is about to be turned upside down. But in the long run I think she'll be very happy to have a buddy. And when the world is normal again I plan to go back to school and be a much busier bee, so I think it'll be nice for her not to be here alone then.

Still loving all things Fall around here 🍁 🍂  I just got this new thanksgiving tablecloth and napkins (FYI Pier 1 has been having some great sales!) And put on my fall leaves bedspread. I'm listening to Christmas music and shopping for it, but that's about it for now. I'll wait to decorate for that until after Thanksgiving.

PRAYER LIST:

I pray for an end to this virus. For peace, healing and unity in our world.  For the election ahead. For Annie's school and teams to be safe from more covid numbers. I pray for anyone sick, suffering, isolated, and afraid - for their peace and comfort. Please Lord give strength to those fighting the virus on the frontlines.  🙏

  2. I am so with you sweetie! Thank goodness the election is over!!!!!!! I have friends on both "sides" and was so tired of being put in the middle - maybe you saw my face book post this morning that so full of positive, but there's always one that has to poke the bear and chose to use my positive post to "TRY" and do it. I hid her comment and added a codicil to shut it all down. I just pray that we move forward and heal as a people and country in need of God's grace and guidance.

Oh my goodness Tilly is just so precious! Every time I see her picture I want a new puppy. Annie is one lucky girl getting such a wonderful Christmas present, early to boot!

Your sunset is gorgeous and I just love fall in your neck of the woods! HA HA no pun intended. Have a WONDERFUL week my friend.
