Happy Homemaker Monday

Hello Friends!
Happy August and new week to you. ☀️😊
I'm getting to this a bit late and have a busy day but wanted to still share a quick post. Did you have a nice weekend? Are you feeling the Fall in the air yet where you are? Around here August is really kind of pre-Autumn as much as it's the final month of summer. In the evenings it's been reaching cooler temps and they said this week some evenings may even get down in the 40's and 50's! I have even seen geese doing practice runs over the bay already!  🍁
It was a very mellow weekend here overall, which was so nice. We were going to go for an outing to celebrate my son's gf's birthday, but needed to reschedule to this week. We're going to go out to eat and then mini golf. So looking forward to that fun with them. She is such a sweetheart and I love her to bits! 💝

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING

granola cereal with berries, vanilla iced coffee

ON MY TO DO LIST:

A lot like last week. Errands, hospice work (including new duties from home besides working at facility), out for my son's gf's bday, crafting and home projects, new dishwasher being installed, need to make several appointments, time with my Mom, dinner with my Bro and SIL

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE

It's been darker around here some days lately due to the wildfires in Canada. The smoke has been drifting here and making the days look gray and hazy, even if just for a portion of the day. The sun peeks out occasionally.

ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:

Since it's mainly Annie and I, there is so much less formal cooking going on to really share a weekly menu right now. So instead I will try to share a recipe here each week:

I thought I would share another Gooseberry Patch recipe or 2, but from an Autumn cookbook I've been looking through:

In a few more weeks this will be the cozy kind of soup and muffin meal I will be looking to enjoy 😋 🍂

TO RELAX THIS WEEK I WILL:

walk with Ruby, may be going to lunch with a gf, sketch, journal, scrapbook, read

TIPS OR SOMETHING TO SHARE:

FROM THE CAMERA:

Besides the gray from wildfires - we have also gotten some much needed rain recently which of course made me want to light candles and keep it cozy ✨

Still been enjoying lazy days of summer -and had this little visitor saying hello out my window the other morning

I love getting lost in a book out on the deck and then it starts getting dark and all my solar lanterns come on

For those not ready, turn away. Lol For those that love Autumn as much as I do...enjoy a cozy preview of moments that make me happy 😊

🍁 ♥️

PRAYER LIST:

Praying for peace, unity and healing for our world and our earth. For a complete end to the virus. For an Uncle with cancer and his upcoming surgery. For my FIL recovering from a nasty fall and needing surgery. For a friend's Mom. For my own special intentions and those of yours that I have read my friends. 🙏

  1. Nooo! I'm not ready! Although it is pretty and soon I'll be happy to have soup cooking again. I love that solar light with the pretty branch like shadows.

  2. When the Summer days get so hot it takes my breath away, I do think of when the weather is milder. About 73 degrees is ideal to me. I will be ready for Autumn in September. For now I am decluttering like a ninja.
    Enjoyed visiting you blog today.
    Blessings,

  3. Hi Carrie, autumn is my favorite season and I can't wait for sweater weather! Love that charcuterie board - so cute! Soup and muffins sound so good. Too hot to even cook lately. We've been eating sandwiches. Sounds like you are busy as ever. Sorry to hear about your uncle and FIL. I'll send prayers their way. Ruby looks so cute lounging on the deck. We are getting wildfire smoke here, too. It turns the sunlight a hazy orange. So strange. Another reason to look forward to fall. Corn chowder sounds so good. Sending hugs xo K

  4. Ha, I've actually done the spaghetti thing and it does indeed work! I have mixed feelings about fall, ready but not ready. Still working on enjoying my summer but I am looking forward to the fall things (in time). Beautiful photos as always! Hope you have a wonderful week!

  5. Yes! yes! yes! Autumn LOVE
That soup and muffins look yummy. Tonight we are having a potage with homemade bread (not made by me ;) ) and some corn on the cob... almost Fall supper.
Sending positive vibes for those around you that need them.
    Have a wonderful week
