Happy Homemaker Monday

Hello my Friends ~

And hope you're having a wonderful Monday!

I was busy around the house this AM and then ran errands today, so finally sitting down to do HHM...so that's why posting this a little late. I hope you had a great weekend! It was a nice one here, if not a little chilly. I still got a nice walk in with Ruby. There was some hockey practices and Palm Sunday mass. Kiddos were busy with friends Saturday night so we caught up on shows and watched a movie. Started getting some things ready for Easter next weekend too. I also helped Annie yesterday with her German project - which was to make traditional raspberry cutout linzer cookies. Love girlie time with her like that! Now on to the week ahead...

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

It was cold and snowy on and off today - and may get some more tonight. Boo! Only low 30's today, but tomorrow and Wednesday are supposed to be in the upper 40's and warm - may even get some rain! Then back down in the 30's for the weekend. Weather in the northwoods ::sigh::

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:

Toast, 1/2 a grapefruit and coffee

RIGHT NOW I AM:

Listening to music, chatting with my daughter on and off about her day at school, and working on my planner for the week

AS I LOOK OUTSIDE MY WINDOW

Gray and looks like it's going to snow again

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE:

I can hear the dryer as the load is almost done and I will throw in another one. Pretty tidy overall, although I haven't been down to the media room lately (the kiddos' hangout often times) and I"m afraid what I may find down there. Lol!

sugar snap pea pasta was yummy :oP

Linzer cookies in the works!

Packaging them up

Lots of powdered sugar and raspberry preserves is the key ;)

Almost ready around here? Are you?

PRAYER, INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE OR DEVOTIONAL:
This week I need to ask for prayers my Friends. I had a mammogram recently and I now need to have a biopsy done next week. I'm thinking positive and that most likely it's nothing - but prayers and positive thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!

Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Monday my Friends ~

It was a lovely weekend here...especially because it felt just like Spring here on Saturday! The sun was just beaming and it was in the 50's, but for us northerners it easily felt like 60 degrees. Ruby and I went for the longest walk and soaked it up. I sat out in the sun on our deck for a while too, among the snow we still have on it.  I listened to the birds singing away. l I let my nice white legs see some sunshine and it felt heavenly!! Today, not so much. It's in the 20's with a cold wind and feels like winter again. Boo :(  Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. Such is life in the northwoods.  I also finished tackling the last of Spring cleaning in our bedroom. I got all of my closet cleaned out (hubby and I each have a walk-in) and gave bags of clothes to folk. I went through all my coats, jewelry, shoes and scrubbed every nook and cranny. Changed to our Spring bedding too.

I'm behind posting today because I had my routine physical check up and some other appointments today.  Happy to report everything looks great, and with the weight I've lost it's made my cholesterol and related numbers even better. Yay health! On to this week ahead.

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

As I mentioned, today is 20's and cold. It was cloudy most of it....but late in the day the sun has come out.  Supposed to be cooler and in the 20's and 30's until late in the week and may get back up towards 40 degrees.

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:

Nothing because I had fasting labs early. For lunch I had some ham and cheese on rye crackers with a little mustard and some fruit

RIGHT NOW I AM:

Listening to music and actually looking at dessert ideas for Easter this year. I'm enjoying the lavender essential oil  in my diffuser nearby

AS I LOOK OUTSIDE MY WINDOW

Nice that the sun has come out. A lot of the snow piles went down with the milder weekend. I know it won't be too long and all the white will disappear. I'm looking down at the bay and hopefully in another month I'll be seeing the ice break up down there and hear the geese coming back for a swim ;)

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE:

Pretty tidy, other than when kiddos got home from school they threw their stuff everywhere. GGrrr

ON THIS WEEK'S TO DO LIST:

MD appointment, mammogram, Annie's conference, Annie's indoor soccer, groceries, lunch with my Mom and Aunt, helping my Mom with Spring cleaning to do the things she can't at her place, MIL visit, FIL's meal, hospice volunteer day, and begin cleaning out and organizing my kitchen. Got our bedroom done so kitchen is next on my list!

FRIDAY: muffin tin German puff pancakes with fruit topping

The sheet pan fajitas, German pancakes,  and chocolate cheesecake strawberries are new. I will plan to share the creme brulee french toast recipe from last week soon too. It was really yummy!

TIP OF THE WEEK:

I think my Hubby wrote this tip. Lol! :P

FROM THE CAMERA:
After school last Friday Annie's friend was coming to sleep over, but we decided to have some fun out and about first. So my Mom and I picked them up from school and we grabbed a treat out and then did a little shopping. Yay Girlie time!!

Our dear Friend Patsy sent us Girls a box of Spring/Easter goodies and even a bunny for Ruby - which she immediately started carrying with her everywhere ;)

Our beautiful walk along the bay when it felt like Spring for a day

Yep, bay is still frozen but we're going to pretend we're sunning at the beach anyway, right Ruby? (notice the peek of one WHITE leg in the corner - blinding!)

Flower Power

Happy Friday Folks!

I thought I would share for Five on Friday this week since I haven't been able to do that in so long. I've been accomplishing a lot of projects around home this week, and have just been in Spring cleaning mode. So I thought I would run with it while I have the momentum. I've been going through closets and drawers and getting rid of things and scrubbing and cleaning away. Spring fever has bitten me pretty bad this year. The sunny weather we've had this week helps too! So that is why I haven't been in blogland as much this week.

Anyway, I will come around and say hi this weekend and catch up with you my Friends. But for today I thought I would share a bit more of my love for all things floral during this time of year. I know I have shared some of my bunnies and flowery Easter decorations, but I  thought I would share a few more of my floral inspirations in other areas too.

ONE

This is actually a flowery scarf - but I'm using it to drape on our piano. The little bunnies on the piano seem to like it there ;)

TWO

I love putting out all of my flowery linens and doilies out this time of year. Tulips, violets, pansies - I love them all!!

THREE

Even my cell phone case is full of flowers. :0)

FOUR

I love that besides the usual kind of flower decorations...I was able to find this letter (our last name initial) filled with flowers

FIVE

And a lot of my clothes (tops, skirts and jeans) have flowers on them these days. But it appears that this year all of my Spring coats have flowers on them too! Do you think I have a problem?? Lol

I'm sharing with the blog F.A.S.T. for Five on Friday.
