Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Monday Friends ☀️

How has everything been going in your world? Things have been rolling along pretty well here. We truly seem to have our home school rhythm down. As well as making sure we have some fun time too. We had a few warmer days here and there, so when it is nice we try to get outside and play pickle ball or other games. And take Ruby out for walks. I got out last week and picked up my hanging baskets - so added a few more flowers to the mix around here. I hope to get some more flowers this week so I can finish planting my pots soon. When I've been out and about I'd say it seems about 1/2 and 1/2 of folks that are wearing masks. We have been lucky because the number of cases in our area have been pretty low. But I think that makes folks feel more relaxed about taking precautions. And my state (WI) made the national news for overturning the governor and showing how the bars were filled with everyone shoulder to shoulder. Thankfully, that's not going on directly in my area. Lol

I'm excited because my AK friend is going to get to come back to MN the end of the month! Yay!! We're making plans for some time in June that could work for him to come here for visits. So maybe more new developments will be happening over time.  It is just truly kind of crazy trying to date with grown kiddos at home. A fella that works in AK (for now). And a pandemic going on in the world. I have no idea how this became my life. Lol 😂 But I just keep leaving it all in God's hands and letting Him lead me where I'm meant to go. 😉 ♥️

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING

granola cereal with berries, coffee

HOW I AM FEELING THIS MORNING:

Feeling good. I had hurt my arm doing some weights with my workouts this weekend and pulled something. Gotta love middle age. I iced it on and off all weekend and took meds. Today it finally feels a lot better. But I feel behind in my usual "chores" because there are certain things I like to accomplish around here on weekends and I didn't get any of it done.

ON MY MIND:

All the projects I want to knock out around here for Spring cleaning. Especially for having a special visitor coming around next month. It's good motivation. Lol The flowers I still need to pick up and how many pots I have left to plant. Worrying about how the opening of our country is really going to go. If there will be any rebound issues due to it? I pray everyone is smart so we won't end up in isolation again. 🙏

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE

Nice bright sunshine streaming in. But I see the dusting and vacuuming I didn't get done this weekend calling my name to finish.

CHORE I'M NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS WEEK:

I'm working on a lot of the same projects I have been....the last of the closets and then on to tackling cleaning out and reorganizing the kitchen

Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Monday Friends

I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend! And that those of you who celebrated Mother's Day enjoyed your day and were nice and spoiled. My morning started with Ad bringing the mower out of storage and coming over to mow my lawn and bring me some flowers. Which was very sweet and made me feel special. Then the kiddos woke up and gave me a beautiful card and some gifts. Then later in the day my Mom, Ad and my FIL came over for a meal I had made. Along with cake and ice cream to celebrate Annie's birthday which is actually today! I can't believe my sweet little angel is already 14!! How did that happen? Then Ad and my Mom stayed and we played some games. It was a great day, wonderful family time,  and I feel so blessed.

We had a bit of warm weather earlier last week...so I finally made my first trip to a greenhouse to get some flowers and dirt. It was heavenly to finally get to plant some things and just enjoy the sunshine. Be prepared - between flowers and Annie I'm sharing lots of photos later in the post. Lol

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING

Since I've gotten back to this post so late (got distracted this AM) I'll share lunch instead. Yesterday I had made a BBQ meal of shredded BBQ chicken sandwiches, coleslaw, pasta salad, fruit salad, corn on the cob, chips etc. So today I used some of the leftover chicken on tortilla chips with shredded cheddar and heated it up to make nachos and topped with a bit of leftover coleslaw. Yum!

HOW I AM FEELING THIS MORNING:

Feeling grateful for the blessing of my beautiful children and especially celebrating my Annie today  💝

ON MY MIND:

Thinking about visiting another greenhouse this week so I can get in more planting later in the week. It's a bit chilly now and going to rain mid week, but the end of the week looks glorious ☀️

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE

One of the wonderful benefits of hosting a gathering is having the house nice and tidy. Even though the sun is shining it's windy and chilly today. I can hear my windchimes singing away.

CHORE I'M NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS WEEK:

I really need to go through all of my kitchen cabinets and the island. Get rid of things, deep clean, clean the oven etc. But first I HAVE to finish all the closets I still haven't completed. Ugh!

More magazines for right now

ON THE TV TODAY:

The Voice, Outlander, Call the Midwife, Survivor, The Masked Singer, The Rookie, cooking shows, some movies taped. I finished the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and need to find a new show to binge - not sure which one I'm going to start on next.

ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:

MONDAY - Annie is requesting one of her fave pizza deliveries for her bday

TUESDAY - homemade waffles with fruit topping, bacon, breakfast potatoes

WEDNESDAY - creamy potato soup with shredded cheese & bacon toppers, muffins, salad

THURSDAY - pasta, garlic bread, roasted cauliflower

FRIDAY - maybe throw something on the grill since it will be so nice out

TO RELAX THIS WEEK I WILL:

I plan to get more flowers and do more digging in the dirt, spend time on the deck in my happy place in the sun - maybe even with a glass of wine 😉 , talk to my sweet guy still stuck in AK, zoom with my girlfriends

FROM THE CAMERA:

First of all I'll share some of the planting that's gotten done. Also, my bleeding hearts have started sprouting up and my daffs bloomed! 🌸

When I was cleaning up for the Mothers Day/Annie's bday party for yesterday I came across this little vinyl tablecloth I had and changed it out on my tv room coffee table because my Annie loves cacti. Lol I started setting the table and had taken a quick pic, but never took a full one of the table all set. Once everyone was here and eating I didn't want to take a pic because I knew the crew wouldn't want me to post a pic of all of them (haha) so I took a sneaky one of the middle of the table because I loved the little candles glowing. Annie requested a funfetti cake with homemade buttercream frosting. I made it with almond extract instead of vanilla because she likes that almost cherry flavor. And then a pic of my lovely flowers and gifts. 😊

And I just have to share a bunch of fun old favorites I found of my sweet angel girl. She is bright, goofy, fun, athletic, creative, and most of all so very kind and positive always. She is my little light always shining. I'm so proud of her and wishing her the happiest bday today! 🎂 I can't believe how fast the time has gone...

❤️ 💜
