Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Tuesday Friends!

I started working on this post yesterday AM - but had an appointment and then ran errands and went to lunch with a girlfriend. I got home late in the day and then worked on the things I needed to accomplish around home and forgot to finish this. So I'm starting over to finish work on this post now. I sure hope that your week is starting great!

Life has been back to normal here thankfully. Matt has been over his covid and was back to work last week. Annie has had covid since part of last week, and is finally feeling better. So, needless to say, the decision was made to wait on the Europe trip until next summer. With all the travel issues and covid around I will say I'm very okay with that decision.

It was a really nice weekend. Matt took me out for a nice dinner and we went mini golfing. 😊 ♥️ We have fun being competitive and we bet on it. We took turns back and forth taking the lead - but he fell apart on one hole and I won. hee hee Yay! 😉  We also sat down by the water and watched the sailboats. Then Sunday we ran errands and he had my car all cleaned inside and out and even put in lavender air fresheners for me. He is such a sweetheart and makes me feel so taken care of and I'm just so grateful for our partnership.

We also grilled up some yummy steaks he marinated and he made an amazing cucumber salad to go with it...along with other sides. I will try to remember to get recipes to share with you because it was all so yummy!

My dock is finally in for the season. And he got my pontoon in to be serviced. So it will finally be pontoon time around here. Woo hoo! Now it will really feel like summer.

Do you have some favorite summer activities you've been up to lately, or looking forward to soon?

Happy Homemaker Monday

Hello Friends!

Happy new week to you. It's a hot one here today - whew! Had to do some running around, but now hibernating indoors. It sure feels like summer now! Lol

I hope you had a wonderful weekend celebrating with any dad-people in your world. And Happy Juneteenth to anyone celebrating that too 😊

We had a nice weekend here and had my Dad and step Mom over for Father's Day. Annie was here a little bit, but spent much of the day with her dad. I made a BBQ meal and homemade apple pie with ice cream. We had a lot of fun just visiting and catching up too. It was so nice, we spent a lot of the evening out on the deck. I would have loved to do a pontoon ride - but my boat needs servicing yet. And the work crew putting in my dock had to delay due to a worker with covid. But hopefully it will be in very soon! 🚣‍♀️ ☀️ 😊

My poor Matt still has covid and I feel so badly for him. And I miss him  and can't wait until he can get back here. ♥️

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:

granola cereal with berries & blueberry lavender almond milk from Trader Joe's, iced vanilla coffee

ON MY TO DO LIST:

chiropractor visits, errands, hospice work at facility, Annie's haircut, hospice work from home, home projects and trip stuff, pest control spraying around outside due to some ant issues,

THINKING ABOUT:

So frustrated living in this covid world! Annie and I are going on a Europe trip with my cousin and her girls. And one of them just got covid - so now trying to regroup and look at changing some things to maybe do a smaller version of the trip so we can leave later and make sure everyone is free of it. We're going to be visiting other family over there for some of the trip and want to be responsible for everyone's sakes too. I sure miss pre-covid life. But I know we're blessed overall and it's just one of those things. It's just a frustrating headache and inconvenience.

FROM THE CAMERA:

Somebody got a fur cut ✂️ and wanted to show you

The other day I remembered that for my bday last Fall, Annie had gotten me all these beautiful prism butterflies. So I had fun finding spots to decorate with them 😍

Sending my poor sickie guy pics of our excursions and that Ruby and I are missing him. Ruby is an old girl now and needs lots of rest when we get back

When my Dad came over yesterday he joked, 'You know those things work a lot better in the water, right?' - funny guy

My neighbor bestie, and her son, paddle boarded over to say hi the other day. 😊

Got summer spa pedis with my Annie boo - I was feeling the bright pink

For Father's Day I made shredded BBQ chicken sandwiches with coleslaw on top, corn on the cob, melon, a big summer salad with blueberries, mandarins, craisins, veggies, sunflower seeds, and a homemade orange dijon vinaigrette, and topped it all off with homemade apple pie & vanilla bean ice cream for dessert 😋 It was all pretty tasty

PRAYER LIST:

For better gun control in this country, for the end of conflict in the Ukraine, for peace and healing everywhere. And if there could please be a way to rid this world of covid! For safe travels for anyone taking trips this season.

PRAYER, INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE OR DEVOTIONAL:

This made me laugh - and somehow fit because it feels like such a monday kind of Monday today. I hope you have a wonderful week! I'm linking with Sandra of Diary of a SAHM for Happy Homemaker Monday.
