Happy Homemaker Monday

HAPPY HOMEMAKER MONDAY

Hello and Happy Monday!

I'm getting to this a little late and will probably be pretty brief. But still wanted to check in with you all. I hope you had a nice weekend and that this week is starting out beautifully so far. It's almost March...Yay! Spring is closer with every step 🌸

It was a fun weekend here. Matt came up for the weekend again. I had a meal all ready when he got here and I made pork chops in the air fryer and they turned out AMAZING! If you have one, have you made any raw meat in it? I have a ninja air fryer and they cooked perfectly in only 10 minutes! And they were juicy and not dry at all. I also made the yummiest asparagus dish and I'll share both recipes in a different post this week. Added a salad and it was such a yummy meal.

We played games with Annie and a friend she had over. And then even when her friend left we played more games with Annie and visited a lot. I love that she is so comfortable with Matt too and seems to like him a lot. Makes my Momma heart feel so full. I have been doing church online but will probably go back again soon. And Matt said he'd love to go with me - so I look forward to spending some Sunday mornings that way. This past Sunday we enjoyed brunch, ran an errand, played some cards together and just enjoyed hanging out doing nothing but being together ❤️

TIPS OR SOMETHING TO SHARE:

FROM THE CAMERA:

Somebody got her overdue haircut the other day and she's good for a quick photo op and then she says "ok Mom now get these bows off of me"

This is the asparagus dish I made - how can you go wrong with a homemade cheese sauce, more shredded cheese and bacon on top? It was Matt's keto dream dish. πŸ˜‹ I'll share recipe later in the week.

The next morning Matt took some leftover pork chop, asparagus, a bunch of other veggies, eggs and different seasonings and made the best breakfast scramble! SO GOOD!!

He now officially has some drawer and closet space here and I was laughing over the size of our shoes. He sometimes wears a 13 and I wear a 6.5-7. Just a little difference. πŸ˜ƒ But I guess that seems right for 6'2" vs 5'3"

Still dreaming and thought you might like this little lily flashback. πŸ’•

PRAYER LIST:

Prayers for gratitude and thankfulness for so many blessings. I pray for an end to the virus.  For health care workers, first responders and all those who work so hard to take care of others. For Ukraine and peace in our world. πŸ™

Happy Homemaker Monday

HAPPY HOMEMAKER MONDAY

Hello my Friends! Happy Monday to you 😊

I'm watching it blizzard all around me and inside I'm weeping! Ugh! I've been dreaming on Spring, flowers, and plans that all feel a million miles away. But I've lived in the northwoods my whole life and I shouldn't be surprised. However, hearing they predict potentially 12-15 inches of snow hits right in heart!

First of all, I need to thank you all for the wonderful comments you shared last week in regards to Matt. Your love and support means so much to me! And I feel so lucky to have found such an amazing man to bless my life. But I'm also not surprised. I prayed for him for a long time and God is so good and had His hands in it all....just waiting on the right timing.  Sure knows what He's doing, doesn't He? ♥️

Did you have a lovely weekend? It was another wonderful one here. Mr. Matt came to visit and we had wonderful meals (I did some cooking for him this time πŸ˜‹), hung out with Annie, played cards, took Ruby for a walk, snuggled in front of the fire on my new furniture (see pics below), and he helped me put together one piece I had ordered to match my new pieces. Or I should really say he put it together. Lol I was a good instruction reader. πŸ˜‰ Also Annie and I had fun hanging out when she drove all over our area to practice her driving. Yep, she has her drivers permit (hold me?!)

Now on to this swirling white day and week ahead...

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:

1/2 a whole wheat english muffin with a small amount of pb and honey. Coffee. I allow myself one cheat day a week I don't count things but overall still counting points every day and I'm already down 6 pounds now! πŸ’ͺ

ON MY TO DO LIST:

staying put next few days, Annie is on break and we have some plans for later in the week, also appointment for passport photos, trip planning for several trips this year, picking out appliances and a bit more furniture for other parts of the house, hospice work (& potentially new job related), other errands later in the week, projects

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE

I feel like I'm in a snow globe. No matter which window I look out I see swirling white. I'm listening to classical music and petting Ruby because she came over needing some love.

What it looks like outside right now:

TIPS OR SOMETHING TO SHARE:

FROM THE CAMERA:

This mythology candle smells amazing!

I love the new vibe of this room. It's classic, yet gives me Mad Men vibes. And the furniture is all really comfortable. New couch, chairs, end tables, and lamps....and I shopped my own home for accessories so some things will probably change over time. The couch is slate and looks kind of deep gray/blue in person. The chairs are a taupe color. The 2 end table lamps have a smoky glass. And the tall one in the reading chair corner has a nightlight in the center of it if you don't want the full lamp on. I thought that was kind of cool.  I found the lamps shopping around online too. Overall I'm thrilled with how it turned out. I have such fun decorating πŸ˜ƒ

The furniture store didn't have a front foyer table that matched the other tables. So I went on the hunt for one online and found one at Wayfair. I love how well it matches - but it needed assembly. So this is the table that Matt built. πŸ˜‰  Now I need to find a new mirror - this one went with the old foyer table.

pretty decent match

A friend of mine was part of a fundraiser for school kids (including hers) traveling to Japan to our sister city there in the future. They had a pancake breakfast, bake sale and auction. I made 8 mini loaves of bread and 2 big batches of chocolate chip cookies to donate to the cause. πŸ˜‹ Good thing getting them out of my house! Lol

On one of our driving outings Annie drove us here because she was hungry. Lol I stayed in the car and let her go get her sandwich to take home. No room in my points for bagels that day.

At least when Matt was here it was beautiful weather so we could get out walking!

my fortune cookie recently and too good not to share πŸ’•

Can't stop dreaming.... ☀️ 🌸
