Happy Homemaker Monday

HAPPY HOMEMAKER MONDAY

Hi Friends ~

I hope you had a lovely restful weekend and your Monday is starting out bright and beautiful! ☀️ Thank you so much for all of your well wishes after my last post!

I'm finally feeling better. More energy and feel more like myself. Still a little congestion, but I can pretty much taste and smell again too! So that is a wonderful feeling. ๐Ÿ˜Š I worked on projects around here this weekend when I had energy. I went through my closet and drawers and have 3 bags of clothes to donate! Planning on tackling the pantry cabinets this week and reorganizing in there a bit.

I also spent time outside with Ruby. It feels so good to get fresh air. We played in the snow and I did more shoveling of the deck and her go potty spot in the yard.

And of course lots of Matt chat time. He's planning to come up this weekend and hang out here. And we've already been making Valentines weekend plans for the next weekend. Going to watch the Super Bowl together (crazy that the Bengals made it!) and he's taking Valentine's Day off of work so we can spend that day too. He wants to cook for me again. ๐Ÿ˜ ♥️

I can't believe January is almost over. And February is nice and short! So that means Spring is practically around the corner, right? Lol
I know I need to work to embrace the winter that is left....but my heart is already dreaming on Spring and digging in the dirt and planting flowers - even thought it's MONTHS AWAY yet. sigh

But counting current blessings and I'm SO ready to join the land of the living this week. It will be day 10 tomorrow and I'm grateful to be free of this virus and back to the real world!

Happy Homemaker Monday (on a Tuesday)

HAPPY HOMEMAKER MONDAY

Hello beautiful Friends ~

I apologize being late this week. I'm fighting covid and it's kinda like a roller coaster. One day I feel pretty good and the next I feel crummier. Hopefully not too many more days of it and I'll feel more like myself.  Even though I'm a day behind....I thought I would still share and catch up with all of you.

Earlier last week I went to visit Matt where he lives because he had the day off. He showed me all around his area. We went and grabbed goodies from the grocery store because he wanted to cook for me. We had a wonderful dinner! Then, I re-taught him how to play cribbage. We snuggled in and watched a movie and it was an all around perfect day. He is healing so many places in my heart and I swear I like him more with every day that goes by. ♥️

Then he was going to come up and visit this past weekend and we were going to watch the Packer game together and he was going to hang out around here. But I woke up Saturday feeling sick. And Sunday I tested positive for covid. He said he wished he could come up and take care of me - but I told him I'd be fine and I would not be okay getting him sick. So we were on the phone with one another during the whole Packer game (even if I sounded like a frog - Lol). Unfortunately the game didn't turn out how we would have liked, but it was still a nice way to share time from afar.

So needless to say, for this week life is remaining quiet and restful. I had covid back in December 2020 before there were vaccines. And being fully vaccinated this time around - I can assure you it has been a much nicer ride with less severe symptoms, and for that I'm grateful! It would sure be nice if we could get rid of covid completely though!!

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

It has been FREEZING around here lately!

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:

piece of toast with homemade raspberry jam, coffee

ON MY TO DO LIST:

I hate that I'm missing Annie's hockey this week, and no working in hospice obviously either. ๐Ÿ˜ข I know I just need to rest, quarantine and kick this covid to the curb!

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE

In the afternoon I usually feel the most peppy and keep up with daily chores around here to keep it tidy. Sun is streaming in and giving nice warmth to the house. ☀️ Ruby is lying in a sunbeam ๐Ÿ˜Š

* no set plans for meals this week - rolling with how I feel

TO RELAX THIS WEEK I WILL:

rest, read, watch movies

TIPS OR SOMETHING TO SHARE:

may need to try this while being stuck home a sickie

FROM THE CAMERA:

My Grandpa died when I was 9 years old. And that was my first experience with death and remember being so sad and, I would say, even intrigued by it all. Shortly after I wrote this poem and sent to my Grandma. My Aunt found it the other day and sent this. It's crazy to me that was about 40 years ago already.

Hanging out watching the game with my guy - covid style. Lol

At Matt's place last week. He made us pesto pasta with toasted pine nuts, caesar salad, Italian meatballs...and an appetizer to start of artichoke with a curry dip. It as all SO YUMMY!

Winter days and sickie moments around home
