Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Monday to you! ☀️

Can you believe that this week brings on September?

This is a page from my calendar/planner for the month of September. The time is sure flying quickly! But I am ready for the cozy season to begin. Watching football games, baking yummy things, pulling out cozy flannel shirts and sweaters, wanting hot tea instead of iced, and crunching through leaves when I walk Ruby. Sign me up!

I'm also ready to get off the continued roller coaster I ride with my poor Mom. She was all set to go to a rehab facility last Friday and she was so excited. I know she's just really ready to get out of the hospital and get better sleep etc. But the facility she was going to (which is closer to where we live) had a covid outbreak and couldn't take her right now. Working on another place that she may go to this week - but it's not as close to home. She is really trying to keep her chin up. And she's working hard to follow rehab in the hospital and keep improving. I brought her a fun Fall coloring book and markers as something else for her to focus on because she's always loved things like that, and she sure appreciated it.  I pray this week gets her in a direction where she can feel more settled. Thank you again for all the wonderful comments of support - I appreciate each and every one! I'm truly grateful she's improving, doing well overall, and heading in the right direction.

How was your weekend? It was a really lovely one here overall. I spent time up at the hospital of course.  We had my Dad over on Friday night and celebrated his bday with a fun BBQ. And Matt and I went out for an amazing dinner Saturday night - it was so yummy. And then he made us brunch Sunday morning. And we ran errands and went for a several mile walk and he had me watch Biggest Little Farm this weekend...as I hadn't seen it yet and he said he knew I'd love it. And I did!! If I wasn't a gal living on a bay - I'd be a gal out in the country with a hobby farm (goats, chickens, lots of pets) and a huge garden. He also got me a new smart tv for my bedroom and hooked it all up. Sure love that fella of mine. ♥️ 😊

ON MY TO DO LIST THIS WEEK:

hospital with Mom, hospice work, errands, I need to order ancestry DNA test as I hired a genealogist to look into family history on my Mom's side. There are things she's always wondered about from stories she was told about our family - and it's been another nice pick-me-up for my Mumsy too. πŸ’•  Need to have my oven and micro taken out because my new ones come in soon! Thank goodness they're finally going to be here-  yay!! Other than some painting yet to do - the new kitchen will be complete!

THINKING ABOUT:

Obviously my Mom continues to be my focus and just wanting to help her get settled somewhere she can feel settled, get good rehab, and good rest.

TIPS OR SOMETHING TO SHARE:

I thought this might be something you'd want to tuck away for the cozy season ahead. πŸŽ₯ 🍿 🍁

FROM THE CAMERA:

I love avocado toast - but my new favorite thing in the whole world is sriracha mayo. Matt & I put it on everything! Have you ever tasted it? It's SOOO good!!

A bit of summer still hanging on 🌸

My beautiful girl is a junior this year - how did that happen?!?! Here she is heading off for her first day of school, and she drove herself. How is my baby that old? Hold me 😒

I went out for brunch with a gf before heading to the hospital one morning. We ate at an amazing place that overlooked Lake Superior and had such a wonderful gourmet kind of menu. I had the lemon ricotta crepes with thyme and a berry sauce. They were phenomenal!

All ready for birthday time with my Papabear

When Matt and I were eating brunch this weekend we noticed a huge eagle up in one of the trees over the bay.

Got to hang with the other furry baby in my life at Matt's house a bit too. Ruby always sniffs me like crazy after I've been around Bubba and she's not sure what to think of it. Lol

I've started adding just a few Fall touches with an Autumn bedspread and a new WoodWick candle. It's a tri-layer candle and the scents are apple basket, spiced blackberry, & pumpkin butter.

PRAYER LIST:

For my Mom's continued healing and strength. For the Lord to lift her up during this time, as well as my step Dad and that the right place open for her to go to for rehab. For Matt's Mom that needs some tests done this week. For special intentions for another family member.

For peace and healing in our world. πŸ™

Happy Homemaker Monday

Hello Friends & Happy Monday ☀️

I hope you're having a wonderful start to your week. πŸ€—
It has kind of felt like a roller coaster over here. My Mom had a stent procedure on my son's birthday and they put 5 in! Yep, 5. Geesh. She came through ok, but kept having trouble with her breathing and they have worked to help that improve. We still celebrated my sweet Aaron that night, with his favorite pizza place and I made brownies for brownie sundaes he requested. We gave him his gifts and hung out and it was still really nice. My Mom has had ups and downs over the past 5 days and at one point talked about wanting to give up and a hospice kind of situation. But through lots of love, support, prayers (& their power!) and wonderful docs and interventions she is improving and sounds like she will be getting out of the ICU soon!! So thank you so very much for all of your continued love, kind words and prayers of support. You all mean more to me than I can say and I thank God for your friendships and this beautiful blogland space to share with you!! πŸ’

I got a break from the hospital yesterday and went out of town for the day...to the musical Wicked with Matt and his Mom. We had gotten tickets many weeks ago and my Mom was insistent that I go. It was such a fun day! Lots of fun singing and gabbing in the car. A little shopping stop. The amazing muscial! And then dinner out last night. Matt's Dad had come up for the weekend too (even though he wasn't interested in the musical) and we all went out for dinner a few nights ago too. They have all been so loving and supportive of me and all that's going on with my Mom too.  I feel so grateful and blessed to have Matt and this wonderful new family in my life. ♥️

THINKING ABOUT:

Continuing to take everything one day at a time. How it seems the cycle of life to hit these roller coaster moments and that's the best way I can deal with them. One day at a time and leaning on faith, Matt, family and friends.

TIPS OR SOMETHING TO SHARE:

I think I've mentioned that August here is really pre-Fall. In a few weeks it will start looking like some of the pics below around here. I found these images on pinterest and I think it's fun to use them to change wallpaper backgrounds on your smart phone or computer. Feel free too use some of these! I can't help that I'm still looking forward to my favorite season.
