Happy Homemaker Monday

Hello dear Friends ๐Ÿ๐Ÿงก

I treasure this date. I know in my last HHM post I mentioned that it's funny we have 2 anniversary dates because of needing to get married at the courthouse to get the correct wedding license. But I think of today as our official anniversary as it's when we had our magical wedding and said our vows in front of our family and friends. And my cousin, who officiated, brought Jesus to the party too. So as of today we have been married 2 years and together for 5 (thank You Lord!) but dream on the many more to come!

This past weekend we went and spent time with my Mom and step Dad Friday and helped them with some things in their apartment. Then Saturday we went to church in the evening and then went out to celebrate our anniversary by going out to dinner, walking around a beautiful rose garden park at sunset, and then came home and sat by a cozy fire on our deck. A perfect anniversary evening with my Hubby in my book. Tonight, per our tradition, we will watch our wedding video. ❤️

Then yesterday I went to a fun outdoor Fall event called Gourd Days with my Bestie, Mrs. C. We shopped and snacked and had Autumn beverages. And then later in the day both her and Mr. C came over to watch the big Packer Vikings game. Unfortunately, the Packers lost spectacularly. No one was happy about that but Mr. C - the big Vikes fan. Boo! But it was still fun watching with them and hanging out and having pizza delivered for dinner. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Today it's so very gray and feels like it gets darker every hour that goes by. It's going to rain so I guess that only makes sense. But I didn't sleep well last night so this gray day is not helping my energy level! Lol Oh well, a new week begins, pep or not...

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:

coffee with protein creamer and a little granola cereal

ON MY TO DO LIST THIS WEEK:

Ruby lab appt, errands, projects to get done around here, hospice work

THINKING ABOUT:

Another fun thing this weekend was that I accomplished getting out my Fall decor around the house. I haven't done things outside yet, as I still have some flowers blooming and hanging in there. But I will decorate outside soon too. It's so cozy around the house now. I have many things on timers that pop on and give a soft glow at night. With these chillier nights (it has been in the 40's some nights and early AM's) it feels so wonderful to have that cozy Autumn feel everywhere. Here are a few peeks:

THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY:

When my hands are cold but I make a hot cup of tea and wrap my fingers around that ceramic warmth and breathe in the steam.

Happy Homemaker Monday, on a Tuesday

Happy new week Friends!

I'm late with this post as we were at the lake yesterday. We spent the holiday weekend there with Matt's folks. For those of you in the states that celebrated I hope you had a lovely nice long weekend too.

I always think of Labor Day as the end of summer... and I can't believe how fast the summer has been wrapping up. My in-law's will soon be headed back to AZ. So we are treasuring the visits we have with them while they are still here. We spent time doing some work and clean up on the property. We got out on one nice day and went on the pontoon. But the rest of the weekend it either rained or was soggy or cooler out. So we watched some movies & shows, played games and visited lots. The usual wonderful time there. :) On the drive there and back we saw several Autumn moments of leaves that had already turned Fall colors here and there. In just a few weeks it will start getting very colorful up here. Yay! ๐Ÿ

This morning I was getting things back in order and doing laundry from the weekend. I got my workout in and then had some lunch with my sweet Matty mine. We had our unofficial anniversary (the legal one) from the courthouse a few days back on the 4th. If you'd like to read that story click here. But what is to me our official anniversary, the 14th, as it's when we had the ceremony is coming up so soon already! It will be 2 years married and 5 together already. Time sure does fly when you're having fun!! ❤️

THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY:

TIPS OR SOMETHING TO SHARE:

FROM THE CAMERA:

last week I made a favorite family recipe that's a version of beef stroganoff (my folks always made it for special occasions) - I will share the recipe soon

on one of our walks we noticed they had the goats in the park again helping take care of it so they don't have to mow so much

last week I talked about my Mom getting a new little Christmas tree for their apt this year and I shared that I had gotten some cute Fall things to make it an Autumn tree and several asked for photos so here they are :)

I haven't really started to put out my Fall decorations yet but I have some new ones I've accumulated and one was this cute ghost with glasses. I love that it's kind of a nerdy ghost. Lol I put it on my bookshelf because isn't that probably where a nerdy ghost would want to live?

I did make some fun treats for the holiday weekend...including puppy chow (or some call them muddy buddies) and some monster cookies. Will share these recipes soon as well.

Last week we went to Mr & Mrs C's youngest daugther's volleyball game. We love to go watch and feel all the Fall back to school vibes. And to cheer on their daughter and visit with the C's Go Hawks! ๐Ÿ’™

There was such Fall vibes out on the water over the weekend. There were moments of fallen leaves on the lake (love how clear ten mile lake is - you can see in the floating leaf photo with the rocks below it) And there were some trees around the lake starting to turn color already.

For fun I had picked up a cute string of Fall lights for Matt's Mom that she hung in the dining room window and it's on a timer so it came on each night. (& I brought Matt's Dad some caramel apple turtles I bought and he said they were delish!)

PRAYER LIST:

For an end to the conflicts all over the world and anyone living in war & fear, especially everything going on in the middle east right now. For peace and unity in this country, especially from hate and shootings or violence.  For anyone sick, suffering, in pain, fear, loneliness etc ... that God bring them comfort and peace. For Nepal and Tibet and anyone around the world suffering from natural disasters.

For the Lord's love and peace to fill all ❤️'s.
