Word-Full Wednesday (Healthy Soul Time)

Today I wanted to share some things on my heart. Maybe it's a way to help another that may be carrying pain. Or in some ways this blog has been like chapters in my life that I sometimes like to look back on for sweet memories...but also, hopefully, to learn and grow.

I know I have shared a lot of my journey on here. I have gone through some of the darkest and most difficult days of my life while I've been blogging. Dealing with my former MIL's growing Alzheimer's, care giving for her, then her eventual long term care facility admittance...and  ultimately her death.

And also during that time I went through many things: trying to help my ex through some of his darkest days, dealing with another person actively destroying the life I knew, and the toll all of it took on my marriage...and eventually led to our divorce.

Through all of that I know I have, at times, channeled my pain, bitterness, hurt, and even fears in various posts on here. I know I'm human. I know God gives me His grace and forgiveness - and so, as His daughter, I have given myself a lot too.

I am the happiest I have ever been. I give all praise and glory to the Lord for the many many gifts in my life. I wake up and pray and do devotional time and then go live my days trying to be the best servant I can to Him. Being the best mother I can be. The best fiancee. The best family member and friend. And the best hospice worker I'm capable of being - always asking Him to use me in His name.

And I always say the same prayer within that devotional time: asking Jesus to be ever on my mind, my lips, and my heart....so when others see and hear me, they really see and hear Him. And I know there are far too many times I fail. But I know there are so many times I succeed in His name and help others. Reach others. Forgive others. Love, share, volunteer, give in the ways I know He wants of me.

My point here is this. There are many kinds of "health". In this year of such happiness and big events (my daughter graduating and the last to the leave the nest...and the wedding of Matthew & I) I am working hard to feel the best physically that I'm able. Working out. Healthier eating habits. And emotionally too by sharing with Matt, my mom or friends when I struggle.
By praying. Going for walks. Journaling etc.
But the biggest and most important part is I am working to be healthy spiritually.

I go to church. I read His word daily. I go to Him as a best friend in prayer, talking, sharing, asking forgiveness EVERY SINGLE DAY, and just loving Him with all of my heart. And I didn't used to be such a devoted follower - but that is what truly changed everything in my life. And has continued to help me be the healthiest I can hope to be. And it's still something I actively work at every single day. To improve upon. And I'm so grateful for a partner in Matt who understands and shares so much of that part of the journey with me too. ❤️

I hope that those I may have ever affected in my words or deeds will have compassion for my pain. That they will know I ask forgiveness of them as much as of my Lord. And I hope that anyone who lives in a place of anger, bitterness, sadness, pain, hopelessness will find their way to Him. And answers to heal, change, grow and become healthy too.

The moment I truly stopped trying to control everything in my life. Stopped trying to hold on to the anger and pain so tightly.... and instead truly started to let it go and believed in His plans for me, even in the depths of pain. Well that's when everything changed. It didn't feel so overwhelming and difficult anymore. I could feel the healing in my heart. And that's when Matt came into my life too. Because God's timing is amazing and He knew my heart could be open and could trust someone again.  And where I live the most in my relationship with the Lord, besides my love, is complete and utter gratitude. I am so grateful for His gifts and tell Him that daily.

Thanks for letting me share so much with you in this lengthy post. I wanted to leave you with one of my favorite passages in the bible that I hold on to every day...especially the darkest ones.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight. "

Proverbs 3:5-6

Blessings always. xoxo

Happy Homemaker Monday

Hello Friends & happy Monday to you!

It was a quiet weekend here in the northwoods. Matt is in AZ visiting his parents and helping with their health issues. He'll be back soon. And Annie was looking at a university in FL with her dad. So I had a lot of very rare alone time this past weekend. Lol

My Mom came over and hung out one afternoon. And I did go out with a friend on Friday night. Other than going out to run some errands it was a very peaceful weekend around the house. I got our save the date cards finished and ready to send. I worked on some home projects. Caught up on some shows. Worked on a new cross stitch project and did some shoveling outside in the mild weather. Oh, and enjoyed lots of snuggle time with the furry babies too of course! 😉

I watched some of the playoff football games and congrats on those Chiefs Jean!!! 🎉 I was cheering for the Lions too and bummer they didn't make it. It should be a very fun SuperBowl though!

THINKING ABOUT:

How lovely and mild it continues to be lately. I hope that's a sign for a mild Spring! That would be so wonderful. But, it could also just mean a delay in our usual weather and we'll have a blizzard in June! Lol 🙈

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE

It's calm and peaceful. I'm listening to Celtic music.  Bubba has the zoomies and keeps running from room to room. Ruby was watching him like he's crazy and then went back to sleep. I guess she wasn't impressed. 😁

TIPS OR SOMETHING TO SHARE:

FROM THE CAMERA:

Someone didn't want Dad to leave  - and has been extra lovie and on Mom's lap constantly. :)

lunch and cards with my sweet Mumsy is always a good idea - and Bubbs thinks so too!

In Annie's recent hockey game it was youth night and young hockey players in the area shadowed the players before the game. They had some fun events too. It was so cute!

Little cross-stitch project I've begun. This was right at the start - you can see the little cross in the center. I keep it all in this little box so I can just grab it and work while I watch tv.

Ruby's favorite show lately. She watches the squirrels and Bubbs watches the birds. Hours of endless entertainment! Lol

My pretty girl and a melted walk way & bits of grass! It's been so mild lately.

It has begun....  ❤️

PRAYER LIST:

For an end to the conflicts all over the world and anyone living in war & fear. For peace and unity in this country, especially from hate and shootings or violence.  Prayers for the recent shooting in Iowa. For anyone sick, suffering, in pain, fear, loneliness etc ... that God bring them comfort and peace. For His Light and Love to cast out the darkness everywhere.  For Matt's Mom to be fully healed from her cancer, and that her treatments continue to go well. And for his Dad dealing with some heart issues now as well.  🙏

Happy Homemaker Monday

Hello Friends

Happy Monday!
It's finally warming up a bit here in the northwoods. It feels like such a welcome gift after how cold it had been lately.

We had a lovely weekend here. We worked on clearing more things out of Matt's house to get it ready to rent. Matt and I went to Saturday evening mass. Then my bestie Mrs. C. came over to have Chinese food and watch the Packers with us. Mr. C had to work at an event for volleyball (he coaches his daughter's team and helps run a local program) It was such a fun and exciting game to watch! We unfortunately couldn't pull off the win - but we had a phenomenal season for being such a young team.

Then Sunday we went and watched The C's daughter play in a volleyball tourney, and came home to watch the other playoff football and how's about those Chiefs, Jean?  Pretty impressive and fun to watch We did our usuals getting things done around the house, I read lots on my kindle (on to my 2nd book of the year - I'm on fire! Lol) and did more of my exercising as I'm getting more into a regular routine. 💪🏻

Today the sun is shining - it looks to be a more mild week ahead and I'm ready to dive into it all. I hope you are too. :)

TIPS OR SOMETHING TO SHARE:

FROM THE CAMERA:

We had fun indulging in Chinese food dinner and reese's pb chip brownies when we cheered on the Pack!

But these are the low cal treats I'm usually eating these days: chocolate rice cake with a little melted marshmallow, chocolate drizzle & a few butterscotch chips - total about 100 calories

Speaking of treats...I thought you might get a kick out of the wedding cake topper I ordered for us. They will be customizing the hair to be more like our colors - but you gotta love the Packers touches!! 😍 Lol I'm doing sunflowers as a main theme to our wedding - so fits the colors well too - golden yellow with some greenery. 😉💚💛

❤️❤️❤️

I loved how this chickadee hung out forever in the middle of the birdseed wreath. Made himself right at home & was so cute! And I especially loved when Bubba thinks he's a stealth hunter by hiding behind the curtain panel when there are a bunch of birds in the window. 😁

Extra love to her for her birthday today too! And for his Dad also dealing with some health issues right now 🙏
