Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Monday Friends!

And to my U.S. friends happy Memorial Day. I hope you've been having a nice one and having a fun extended weekend. I'm thinking today especially about all of our military that gave their lives for our country and our freedoms...and for all of those military folks and their families working and sacrificing currently. I thank them and ask that God bless them all.

We've had a great weekend so far! Some relatives came in from Green Bay and we had a gathering over here Saturday. And it was gorgeous here yesterday and I got some nice lazy time in the sun. Today is gray and chances of rain - but I'm going to go pick up some more of my flowers because it's supposed to be pretty nice this week so I'd like to finally get to planting!

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING

cinnamon toast with Annie and her friend that slept over, coffee

RIGHT NOW I AM:

getting some things cooked up ahead for dinner tonight, working on my planner

AS I LOOK OUTSIDE MY WINDOW

gray and getting dark - It looks like it wants to rain

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE

clean and tidy other than some girlie sleep over stuff. I need to break down my table with the extra leaves and chairs from all the company that was here (11 of us total on saturday)

ON THIS WEEK'S TO DO LIST:

Annie's golf practices, hockey, volunteer time, bring meal to FIL, groceries, help my mom with some projects, finish my cousin's gift project, spring clean fans and high up places around the house, finish in bathroom cabinets

CURRENTLY READING

still deciding what's next

ON THE TV TODAY:

Call the Midwife, Grantchester,  American Housewife, the Rookie, Survivor, Little People Big World, Greys Anatomy, Trading Spaces, cooking shows, The Spanish Princess, The Bachlorette, some movies taped

ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:

MONDAY:  spaghetti hot dish didn't do last week

TUESDAY: homemade waffles, bacon, eggs, fruit

WEDNESDAY: paneer tacos (a kind of firm cheese you can fry) with avocado and creamy chipotle sauce (BA meal)

THURSDAY: balsamic glazed chicken thighs with goat cheese mashed potatoes, broccoli

FRIDAY: out for dinner

WHAT I AM CREATING AT THE MOMENT

scrapbooking things, spring cleaning projects

NEW RECIPE I WANT TO TRY THIS WEEK:

I may try a strawberry lemon freezer pie recipe

TIP OF THE WEEK:

FROM THE CAMERA

On Saturday we got everything mowed and cleaned up for company and got the fire table going to sit around later:

wild daffodils in the woods next to our yard

wild pansies among the rocks in Annie's garden

I made a mixed berry pie for the occasion ๐Ÿ˜‹

we visited and then played games around the fire pit

I have a special Uncle Don - he's mentally challenged - and Annie was doing all kinds of filters on him and cracking him up! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

  2. I see my Carry-on Carrie is still carrying on. You are so special to everyone in your family, I'm sure. You do so much. Love your petunias and so strange to see daffodils when I'm thinking mine are almost ready to cut back.

Wish I could send you some sunshine, as we're having it in abundance. I'll have to work in the yard early and late, which is (yuck!) when the mosquitos come out.

Your pie is beautiful. Wish I had a piece. I see Annie has inherited the compassion gene from her mommy. Good! The world needs more.

Goofed off this weekend, and now I'm dealing with all my "bargains". Time to hurry up and catch up.

Love to you and yours; sending kisses on the wind and hugs to slide down the sunshine rays which should be coming your way soon, AP
