Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Monday Friends ☀️

How has everything been going in your world? Things have been rolling along pretty well here. We truly seem to have our home school rhythm down. As well as making sure we have some fun time too. We had a few warmer days here and there, so when it is nice we try to get outside and play pickle ball or other games. And take Ruby out for walks. I got out last week and picked up my hanging baskets - so added a few more flowers to the mix around here. I hope to get some more flowers this week so I can finish planting my pots soon. When I've been out and about I'd say it seems about 1/2 and 1/2 of folks that are wearing masks. We have been lucky because the number of cases in our area have been pretty low. But I think that makes folks feel more relaxed about taking precautions. And my state (WI) made the national news for overturning the governor and showing how the bars were filled with everyone shoulder to shoulder. Thankfully, that's not going on directly in my area. Lol

I'm excited because my AK friend is going to get to come back to MN the end of the month! Yay!! We're making plans for some time in June that could work for him to come here for visits. So maybe more new developments will be happening over time.  It is just truly kind of crazy trying to date with grown kiddos at home. A fella that works in AK (for now). And a pandemic going on in the world. I have no idea how this became my life. Lol 😂 But I just keep leaving it all in God's hands and letting Him lead me where I'm meant to go. 😉 ♥️

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING

granola cereal with berries, coffee

HOW I AM FEELING THIS MORNING:

Feeling good. I had hurt my arm doing some weights with my workouts this weekend and pulled something. Gotta love middle age. I iced it on and off all weekend and took meds. Today it finally feels a lot better. But I feel behind in my usual "chores" because there are certain things I like to accomplish around here on weekends and I didn't get any of it done.

ON MY MIND:

All the projects I want to knock out around here for Spring cleaning. Especially for having a special visitor coming around next month. It's good motivation. Lol The flowers I still need to pick up and how many pots I have left to plant. Worrying about how the opening of our country is really going to go. If there will be any rebound issues due to it? I pray everyone is smart so we won't end up in isolation again. 🙏

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE

Nice bright sunshine streaming in. But I see the dusting and vacuuming I didn't get done this weekend calling my name to finish.

CHORE I'M NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS WEEK:

I'm working on a lot of the same projects I have been....the last of the closets and then on to tackling cleaning out and reorganizing the kitchen

ON THE TV TODAY:

The Voice,  Call the Midwife (finale), The Masked Singer,  cooking shows, some movies taped. I might start Unorthodox on netflix. I've also started watching Gilmore Girls to binge because I never watched it when it was on in the past and my girlfriend told me I'd love it. 😊

ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:

MONDAY - PF Changs orange chicken, white rice, egg rolls

TUESDAY - breakfast sandwiches with eggs, cheese, peppers & onions, roasted breakfast potatoes,  fruit

WEDNESDAY - turkey & cheese tortilla pinwheel sandwiches,  Italian veggie pasta salad

THURSDAY - might throw something on the grill??

FRIDAY - biscuit pepperoni pizza rolls with marinara, salad, fruit

TO RELAX THIS WEEK I WILL:

Zoom with my girls as I do every week, plant more flower pots, bake some banana bread and peach hand pies, do some yoga with my workouts, read in the sun

FROM THE CAMERA:

Hanging basket flowers I picked up last week. I always get a couple and cut off the hangers as easy filler for 2 big ceramic pots flanking one of my doors.

Lots of critters always visiting my little nature preserve here. Lol Including this 400-500 lb bear that visiting my driveway just earlier today 🐻

I love to do devotional time outside among the birdsong if the weather is nice

cello practice - pandemic home school style

proof I still put on a pair of jeans once in a while 😂

PRAYER LIST:

All of the responders, grocery store workers, caregivers, all those sick and suffering through this, and those who have lost loved ones. I pray psalm 91 over all every day. Prayers for all of us my Friends. We are all in this together. 🙏 💜

I'm also praying extra rosary time for a cure, quicker vaccine, and better treatments and testing.

Prayers for my guy in AK to stay safe - as a first responder because he's in law enforcement. And for him to be able to get back to MN by later this month

  1. A bear!!! What if you were out working on flowers when he visited? Please be careful, Darling, and don't let Ruby out alone until they've caught up with their spring feasting after the long hibernation.

So excited about your coming visit. Hopefully, it will meet with all your expectations.

My poor baby. You just got your leg healed, and now your arm has an ow-ow. But - I'd rather see you with a few bumps than with an unblemished body, rusty from lack of use.

I'm such a wimp. I wouldn't go work in the yard today because it was too cold at 57 heading for 63. And you just ignore the temperature (colder than mine), and spend the day at the nursery and working on your flower pots. That's why you're my Carry-on Carrie Anne.

Busy week ahead. Hope yours is wonderful, with warm sunshine, a healed arm, helpful kiddos, and NO BEARS. Love you bushels, AP

  2. Aaagh! I was scrolling though, enjoying all the beautiful flowers and the little critters, and then a bear! Don't get too close!
Glad things are loosening up there. The upper part of Michigan is opening a bit too, hopefully we in the lower part soon will too.
Glad your guy is coming back. You're right - it's been a crazy time for you to try to date. :)

  4. It's all crazy isn't it? I'm glad our governor left it up to the individual counties to set re-openings, more or less. Enjoyed all your photos! Think I'm going to stick to battling the raccoons getting in my bird feeders, a 400-500 bear sounds a bit too scary for me. Hope you are having a great week so far!

  5. Oh my, that bear! That is scary... The other creatures are all little sweeties, including a red cardinal :) Your hanging baskets are so pretty, and that is a neat trick to put them into the planters at the door. Every girl should try on her jeans now and then - I did it last week. A bit tight, but they stayed on for the day, he he. Be safe. xxx

  6. Good to catch up with you, Carrie, and glad to see that you are making the best of things. Looks like some springtime has come your way - everything looks so pretty and I love your flowers and amazing views with all the wild things enjoying it too. You are becoming quite a wildlife photographer and look at you, taking photos of bears! He looks like a healthy specimen, too. Be careful xx So glad that things are looking promising for your new friend to be closer and that your daughter is keeping up with schoolwork through all of this. I'm a jean's gal - anything else gets shredded around here! Haha! You look cute and I love your hair <3 Glad you are living in a safe area. Sending hugs xo Karen

  7. Sorry I'm so late - was out of town helping my sister-in-law. Oh my, that bear is a GREAT shot, but a little scary to be so close. The wildlife is the thing I miss the most from our time in the U.P. - deer and rabbits sharing a meal on our front lawn or the bears in the trees at the park. One of my favorites was the moose walking down the main street/highway.
