Happy Homemaker Monday

Hello Friends and happy new week to you. ☀️

I'm getting to this a bit late today as I had an appointment this AM and then an impromptu invitation to lunch with a friend. How was your weekend? Is it getting lovely where you are? It's finally truly feeling like Spring - and even almost summery here lately. We have had some thunderstorms and then lots of sunshine and the trees are finally starting to bud and the greenhouse places have all been filled with folks grabbing their flower goodies. I had so much fun with that this weekend! I planted the majority of my pots outside and I apologize now for all the pics I'll share below! Ha!

We were going to do Annie's little bday party with some friends over here and I was going to make the cake she picked for me to bake her this year ...but then one of her bud's family members had covid  recently and we wanted to give it more time. They have tested negative now and we will plan to do something here a night this week. She picked a strawberry fudge poke cake and I'm not mad about it. Lol Worth the WW points! 😉

I also got some lovely time with my Mr. Matt. We hung out and did a lot of our usuals around here. He was SO helpful helping me get out my big heavy pots and the rest of the deck furniture etc. Between the sun and all of the flowers I think I finally shed the last of the winter blah's off of me and my batteries are recharged. Now bring on the week ahead!

PS: I caught the blood moon lunar eclipse last night - that's in the pics below as well

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:

some keto version cinnamon toast crunch cereal with salted caramel protein creamer/milk on it, coffee

ON MY TO DO LIST:

chiropractor visits, errands, coffee with an Aunt, groceries, Annie's little party, hospice work, shopping with my Mom, handyman I hired to work on some needed projects comes this week

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE

the sun is shining and I love looking out my windows and seeing flowers! My wind chime is singing in the breeze - Ruby is barking at a squirrel outside...just a normal day in the northwoods

CURRENTLY READING

Nightshade for Warning by Bailey Cattrell almost done and then I move on to her 3rd in the series Marigolds for Malice (didn't read last week, but should finish it this week)

ON THE TV TODAY:

The Good Doctor, Greys Anatomy, This is Us, The Rookie,  WCTH,  Survivor, New Amsterdam, Shark Tank, Love on the Spectrum the second season - recommend them, they just make you feel good! 😊

ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:

I feel like I share so many versions of the same menu here as Annie only likes a certain handful of things it seems. One day when Matt is here full time there will be far more variety and a true menu to share. 😋 So in the meantime I will share a recipe or some other kind of food fun here.

I recently helped Annie and a buddy make popovers for a school project and they turned out yummy!

I found the recipe at bellyfull.net

TO RELAX THIS WEEK I WILL:

tend to my flowers, read, walk Ruby

TIPS OR SOMETHING TO SHARE:

I follow this gal on instagram. She lost her daughter, Stevie, to  cancer a few years ago...and Stevie was only 3 years old. Her faith and strength is astounding and awe inspiring and this is a post she shared recently in honor of what would have been Stevie's 5th birthday. She writes about her thoughts and faith so beautifully. If you're on instagram I recommend following her.

♥️ ♥️ ♥️

FROM THE CAMERA:

PRAYER LIST:

Prayers of gratitude and thankfulness for so many blessings. For a friend of my Mom's still healing from an accident. For an Aunt who recently lost her husband to cancer. For Ukraine, Russia, and the surrounding countries taking refugees. For the Lord's light, love, and peace to spread in our world and cast out the dark and bring peace.

PRAYER, INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE OR DEVOTIONAL:

Have a wonderful week Friends ☀️ I'm linking with Sandra of Diary of a SAHM for Happy Homemaker Monday.

  3. Enjoyed seeing all your pretty flowers and fairy gardens - through the tears in my eyes after reading the words of Stevie's Mom. Oh, break my heart why don't you! I love her message to her daughter and I'm sure she is a solace and inspiration for all those who have had to walk this sad road. I'm glad that your weather is turning and you are able to enjoy some spring sunshine. Love the photos. The views of the road and path ahead of you are especially nice. Happy Birthday to sweet Annie. Sending hugs xo K
