Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Monday my Blogland Besties! ☀️

How is life in your corner of the world? Here it's a sunny bright cheerful day. Late summer is still kinda hanging on. Although I see bits of color starting to change on the leaves, geese keep flying over the bay, and I see evening temps of the future in the 50's and even upper 40's! Just a matter of time until that first frost.

I hope you had a glorious weekend. ๐Ÿ˜Š  It was such a fun one here!! On Friday I went out to lunch with a girlfriend, after my hospice volunteering. We always have a blast when we get to catch up. And then I went to her daughter's soccer game Saturday evening and we all (her and her hubby and Matt & I) went out for dinner. Then came back to my house to play cards and hang out. Lots of laughs and we have just the best time when we hang with those besties. I also got up most of my Fall decorations in the house. I still need to do some things downstairs and outside - but knocked most of it out.

And then yesterday Matt and I drove up the north shore to get brunch, went to a little beach where I love to skip rocks and enjoy the peace of Lake Superior lapping on the shore. Holy cow, is Matt a rock skipping pro! I'll share a little video below of him. But I forget he was once a division 1 athlete in discus and the hammer throw, so of course he has abilities. Lol We then visited my Mom and step Dad and brought them some goodies and caught up. Following that -  we ran errands, did a 3 mile walk, and ended the night watching our Packers win! yay!!

Just one of those blissfully perfect weekends. Now on to the week ahead...

Also, here's Matt being a rock skipping pro:

FROM THE CAMERA:

Last week it felt so cozy at the hospice house. It was raining out and I was giving of my time that day by scrapbooking obituaries. They keep albums of all the folks that stay there. I pray over each one, and their families, as I work on them.

A peek at some of Autumn in my home. I will share lots more of my home decorating in a future post this week or next. ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ˜Š

PRAYER LIST:

For my Mom's continued healing and strength. For special intentions.

For peace and healing in our world. ๐Ÿ™

PRAYER, INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE OR DEVOTIONAL:

I hope you have an amazing week ahead! I'm sharing this with Sandra of Diary of a SAHM for Happy Homemaker Monday.

    1. Love that your grandson helps you find heart rocks, Carrie. So sweet! I've been loving Big Bro (but behind by a couple episodes right now). The drama! But also, the teaching moments are kind of cool too. ;)

    1. Thanks Mari! It was a wonderful weekend. And I love that there is always a different way for me to help at the hospice house. Sometimes visiting patients and their families. Sometimes baking or kitchen help. Sometimes scrapbooking obits. I just as the Lord to use me as an instrument of what's needed before I go each week. ๐Ÿ˜Š

  6. What a nice weekend you had Carrie. Those flat stones are perfect for 'skipping stones'. I have not done that for years, but it is always fun. Sounds like your man is a pro! Some pretty decorating is happening, loving the 'fall' letters. I bet you made them too. So clever. Happy pumpkin time. xox

    1. Thanks Trish! I can't take credit for the Fall letters. They were a gift. I don't think they'd be too hard to customize or make though. Lol ๐Ÿ

    1. Thanks Deb! The tree and ornaments is like 15 -16 years old now. It's one of my favorite decorations. It's Lenox china. So I try to be extra careful with it. I saw that about your Vikes - sorry they got beat up (kinda - Lol ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

    2. It's okay about the Vikings (kinda). We're used to it at this point. LOL

I forgot to mention in my original comment, I will need to check out that Swedish vlogger you mentioned. I very recently started watching a girl sharing her life in the Scottish Highlands. I love stuff like that! And well, Swedish... Scandinavia... Vikings... Anyway the Highland one is called Hippy Highland Living if you're at all interested.

    3. Thanks Deb - I will look that one up. I think you'll love Jonna - look at lots of her prior things. Especially her winter videos. ;)

    4. I went to her channel last night but haven't watched any videos yet. I didn't realize she was such a big deal! Like 4 million subscribers? One video is something about the king of somewhere (I forget where)? I'm intimidated now. lol

  8. It feels so peaceful just looking at your photos of the big lake. I laughed when I read you only watch the blind auditions of The Voice, that's really the only part of the show I care about as well. Glad you had such a great weekend. Hope your week is wonderful!
