Happy Homemaker Monday

Hello Friends ☀️

Happy new week to you! I hope you've been enjoying this lovely start into Fall and feeling all the cozy goodness. πŸ‚ 🧑

We've definitely been getting more Autumn kind of weather here. I've been back to sipping lots of yummy hot tea (current fave is maple ginger!) and keeping soft warm blankets handy. And it was another fun Fall weekend. I went out for drinks with a bestie on Friday night. Then Matt and I went up to his cabin Saturday and Sunday and spent a wonderful time with his folks, went for a lovely long walk, helped them get things ready for winterizing around there, ate at the most amazing restaurant, cheered the Packers on to victory, had a fun chat with Matt's Mom about our Christmas plans for their visit this year, and just enjoyed lazy time too. It was blissful. And I love this new family I've become a part of already.

I hope your weekend was wonderful too!

THINKING ABOUT:

How much I love this time of year as we enter October - the prettiest month, in my humble opinion, where I live the northwoods between WI and MN 🍁

CURRENTLY READING

Fall magazines

ON THE TV TODAY:

Great British Baking Championship & Blown Away (netflix),  House of the Dragon, The Voice (I usually only watch the blind auditions), Survivor, New Amsterdam, Shark Tank, Quantam Leap, Handmaids Tale (Hulu), might watch Welcome to Wrexham with Matt (Ryan Reynolds docu on Hulu), and I've been watching some old episodes of Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman because I love the ones with Fall vibes 😍 🍁

ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:

MONDAY -  air fried toasted cheese ravioli, marinara, caesar salad, fruit

TUESDAY - seared chicken with creamy pesto, smashed carrots, & roasted zucchini (HF meal)

WEDNESDAY - peppercorn crusted beef tenderloin w/ chive butter, mashed sweet potatoes, & asparagus amandine (HF meal)

THURSDAY - cheesy broccoli soup, biscuits, fruit

FRIDAY - maybe out for dinner?

TO RELAX THIS WEEK I WILL:

go for walks, work on fun projects, read

TIPS OR SOMETHING TO SHARE:

Here's some ASMR waves for you from Matt's dock on a very windy, chilly, but bright sunny lake in MN 🌊

FROM THE CAMERA:

I've been getting out all my warm Fall vibes clothing - yay for long skirts and cute boots! ;)

Lots of butter topping on the keto peach cobbler before going into the oven. Matt's folks loved it as much as Matt does πŸ˜‹

PRAYER LIST:

For my Mom's continued healing and strength. For special intentions.

For peace and healing in our world. πŸ™

PRAYER, INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE OR DEVOTIONAL:

This is so true to where I live in the northwoods - such temperature swings can happen in one day. Lol Especially this time of year. I hope you stay cozy and have a wonderful week! xo

I'm sharing this with Sandra at Diary of a SAHM for Happy Homemaker Monday.

  1. Hi Carrie, I love that weather sign - it is a bit like that here too. We have big temperature variations every day, and change clothes a bit along the way. What fun to see the lake from Matt's cabin; it really is an inland sea. And it is always a delight to see your beautiful photos of the Fall colours. Looking forward to much more :) xxx

  4. Love all your beautiful fall photos and the water, so soothing! I've been on a bit of an Earl Grey tea kick with my hot tea though lately, it was still so hot that iced tea & lemonade were still the order of the day. Hope you have a wonderful week!

    1. Thanks Jean! ooohh yum! I forget about Earl Grey. And a "London fog" is even better with a little bit of milk splashed in (& little sweetener). I hope it cools down and you can do more cozy sipping soon! xo

  5. LOL Love that Welcome To Minnesota thing. That's true for my area of Wisconsin too.

Holy ballz! Is that a freakin' giant skeleton? Or is it just the perspective of the photo?

    1. Thanks Deb! I think there are quite a few places that have crazy temp differences around our region. It's crazy how much it can change in just minutes sometimes!
Your other comment made me literally Lol πŸ˜† Yep, that skeleton has got to be about 15 feet tall! 😳
