Some vintage pics, an update, and 30 days of summer: pinterest fun

Hello Friends ~ 

Happy weekend to you. It's busy days in these northwoods...but in lots of fun ways too. We have some relatives coming in town to visit today and are here for the weekend. I have a friend coming in from California the next week - and in between it looks like Annie's team may go to state for soccer!  So first of all an update:  I plan to take a bit of a break due to such a busy schedule these next few weeks. So I will be back probably in 2 weeks...maybe 3. 

 Next, I just wanted to share that yesterday would have been my paternal grandparents' 75th wedding anniversary. I know they celebrated in heaven. But I had some neat old pics of their wedding I shared on my instagram yesterday, and for those of you that don't follow me there I thought I'd share some here:

I just love old photos, don't you? I was really close with my grandparents. Although my grandpa died when I was only 9 years old. My Gram, however, lived to be almost 93. My daughter Annie is named after here (as their names were Steve and Anne).  Just thought you vintage lovers might enjoy them too so thanks for letting me share ;)

Happy Homemaker Monday

Hello Friends and happy Monday to you ~ 

I'm getting to this post quite late today but thought I'd try to squeak it in anyways. So it may be quick version. I need to do catching up visiting you folks I didn't get to last week. I will do that this week and plan to get another summer post in and then I may take a bit of a summer break. I will let you know.  

It was a busy and fun day here today. Accomplished some tasks around home and then went out to lunch to a sushi/hibachi place with my Mom and Annie and her buddy. And then we went to a sweets shop for fun. And my Mom and I then worked a bit on the heritage scrapbook album we're doing together for her side of the family. All and all a very fun and full day. But thought I'd still do this post to keep on track for the week ahead. 

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

It has been hot and muggy here lately! Upper 80's and hot. We had a nice thunder boomer storm last night but still hot again today. Looks like 80's all week

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:

toast and iced vanilla coffee

AS I LOOK OUTSIDE MY WINDOW

Looks like the epitome of a perfect summer day. Blue skies and lovely clouds here and there and sun shining away on the bay 

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE:

I see the bins, old photos, organizing folders and album/paper/stickers things all in front of me on the table

ON THIS WEEK'S TO DO LIST:

Annie ortho appointment, soccer practice, district games, errands, groceries, MIL and FIL stuff, projects, Ruby haircut

ON THE TV TODAY:

  America's Got Talent, American Pickers, Cooking shows, Next Food Network Star, some Billions we still haven't watched, Deadliest Catch, Bear Grylls, Great British Bake Off

 

ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:

MONDAY: not sure - clean out the fridge?

TUESDAY: BBQ ribs and potato/veggie bundles as I didn't end up picking up that stuff last week (and FIL loves ribs)

WEDNESDAY: honey lime chicken tacos/nachos

THURSDAY: pizza grilled cheese, garden salad, fruit

FRIDAY: out for dinner with relatives

Happy Monday -  

I hope you had a wonderful weekend Friends.  We had a really fun family road trip to Green Bay to visit relatives.  We stayed at a waterpark hotel and the kiddos loved that! It was blazing hot (upper 90's) so we enjoyed an afternoon at the movie theaters one of the days. We also fit in some shopping, great meals and of course visiting and catching up. It was a special trip as my extra special Uncle (he is mentally challenged) recently moved there and he gave us a tour of his new place. The weekend flew by and I can't believe we're already into July! Summer is going so fast already. 

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

Upper 80's and warm today. Looks like 80' and warm the rest of the week with chance of storms on the 4th unfortunately

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:

toast with homemade strawberry jam and hazelnut coffee

RIGHT NOW I AM:

Listening to my kids chat as my son just got home from work for the day a little bit ago

It was really sunny but now big fluffy clouds rolling in 

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE:

Pretty clean and tidy from from the weekend. Already threw in trip laundry. My Mom stayed here, along with her doggie, on Ruby duty for us over the weekend.

ON THIS WEEK'S TO DO LIST:

Annie's sports practices, July 4th stuff, MIL time, FIL meal, no volunteer day this week, groceries, errands, projects

THURSDAY: BBQ ribs and potato & veggie bundles on the grill

FRIDAY: slow cooker ravioli, caesar salad
