Happy Homemaker Monday (on a Tuesday)

Hello my Lovelies!

I'm getting to the HHM post late this week due to the holiday weekend. To those in the states that celebrated Memorial Weekend - I hope you had a nice long relaxing one. May God bless all of our service men and women and their families for all the freedoms they help provide our country. 🇺🇸

We spent part of the weekend here with all the kiddos (Aaron and Jill were up). And then we spent part of it at the lake with Matt's folks. We went out for pizza with the kids one night and played cards/games over the time hanging with them - as well as great visiting.

And at the lake we went out on a pontoon ride, helped Matt's Mom get all of her flowers, played cards, watched movies and just relaxed. Matt and his Dad got their fishing licenses but Matt's Dad didn't feel good the morning they were going to go out - so they didn't fish. But Matt brought the bait home and plans to fish off our dock a bit this week. :)

On big bummer note - my Mom had a fall over the weekend. She fractured a vertebrae in her back and tore some ligaments. She is okay...thank the Lord! But she will be in a heavy duty brace for 3 months. Not fun. We are getting her and my step Dad set up with meals on wheels, and we got her a commode in case it's needed. I'm also getting her a walker. I will be checking in regularly, running errands for them as needed, and stocking their freezer with more meals. Scary stuff and I pray in such gratitude she is ultimately okay.

Cooking Thursday: Grill Time

Hello and happy Thursday lovely Friends!

It's a cool, but nice and sunny day in the northwoods.

While I was doing my workout on the treadmill, I saw this adorable baby bunny eating dandelions out the window. I love how when he was finishing the dandelion stalk it would look like he was blowing a yellow bubble. Lol

And I need to share my pretty Ruby all done at the groomers. And I picked the wild daffs in the woods by the house because they were starting to fade and I wanted to enjoy them a bit more. 💛

But for today I wanted to share that I dug out this grilling cookbook and was looking through it for some future inspiration. It has a lot of yummy recipes for the grill and is divided by different meats (hamburger, steak, chicken etc) and even has a section of desserts. Here are a few examples of what's in the cookbook:

It's one of my favorite things about summer - is to grill out on the deck and have a meal out in the sunshine.

Do you like to grill? Do you have any favorites you make in the summer?

I think we're actually going to go to our local meat market soon...to pick up some things to grill for the holiday weekend. 😋 (Memorial weekend in the U.S.)

I hope you have a blessed weekend ahead Friends!

Happy Homemaker Monday (on a Tuesday)

Happy new week Blogging Besties!

If you celebrated....did you have a nice holiday weekend? Or just a nice weekend in general?

I'm posting this on a Tuesday as Matt and I were at the lake for the Memorial Day weekend. And God's blessings to all of our service people and all they have sacrificed for the sake of our country. 🙏🏻

As far as this weekend goes we had a great time with Matt's folks. The docks and boats are in the lake now...so we got out for a pontoon ride. Matt got out fishing with his Dad a couple of the mornings nice and early. They caught almost half a fish fry worth of some bass, bluegill and perch. :)

We also went out to dinner one night, watched movies, grilled, played games and had lots of great conversation and laughs. Doesn't get better than that!

Annie's bf comes into town from Florida today to stay here with us for a week and 1/2. So we're planning some fun things too! I can feel the summer in the air and that it's almost here! I need to get more of my flowers this week and get to planting now that the weather seems warm enough. I'm ready! 🌸💗

Scenes from a fun weekend. Annie was so funny because she was holding down the fort at home while we were gone....and she showed how Bubba was being all lovie with her (she always complains that when Matt & I are around Bubba won't go to her enough 😂)

And in other news - my bestie Mrs. C got lots of time with new baby Thea this weekend and sent me this pic. 😍 And I can't wait for my turn to snuggle her up!!
