Happy Homemaker Monday

Hello and happy Monday Friends ~

I hope your having a great morning and ready to dive into a new week! And I hope you had a lovely weekend too.

It was a cozy one here. We ran some errands and usual things. But mostly stayed in and played cards, watched football, and did some cleanig and productive projects around the house. One productive job was creating some blessing bags for the car. (I share them below)  We did go out to a movie on Saturday night and saw Flight Risk. An entertaining little thriller.

And how's about those Chiefs Jean??? I kept thinking of you as we were watching. Lol Congratulations!! Pretty exciting too have them go for their 3rd in a row now and will play against the Eagles in the Super Bowl. It sure was an exciting game vs the Bills and that's always fun! And of course always a bonus for me to get peeks of Taylor & Travis. 😉😁

The temps here, thankfully, have been warmer...but very windy and gray today. Now on to this week ahead!

Some Valentine moments around the house:

Our spare bedroom/office is my happy place. In there is the bookcase I love, my desk where I work on projects and a big lounger couch that turns into a bed for guests. I LOVE this couch and the view out the deep seated window that looks at the bay. I sit there listening to music and read, journal and just gaze sometimes - especially at the sunsets! The back of our house sits west facing so we get stunners at times as you can see below. Ruby often joins me and Matt snuck this pic of me the other day and sent it to me.

doing the crossword puzzle in my happy place

Blessing bags and a pack of water all ready to go in the car. Sadly, we often see people out in the cold on corners with signs asking for help. So I like to be prepared to give something besides money. In there are things like: hand warmers, toiletries, granola bars, food gift cards, chapstick, and an extra special touch I threw in that you can see below. (PS: I 💗 Jesus)

A sneak peek at pages in the scrapbook I'm working on of our wedding.

Our furry babies love the weekends that we're around a lot. They snuggled in too. Bubba loves the bird show at the feeder always. And they each have their little beds and love snuggling there when we're watching shows or football. :)

PRAYER LIST:

For an end to the conflicts all over the world and anyone living in war & fear. For peace and unity in this country, especially from hate and shootings or violence.  For anyone sick, suffering, in pain, fear, loneliness etc ... that God bring them comfort and peace. For all those affected by the wildfires in CA and for the firefighters working so hard.

For Christ's Light and Love to cast out the darkness everywhere and help the world find its way. 🙏🏻

Happy Homemaker Monday

Hello and happy Monday Friends!

I had some appointments today, so getting to this a little late. But I'm going to still try to buzz through and share life here and look forward to visiting and catching up with you when I'm able. :)

It was another weekend up at the 10 mile lake cottage. We went to do more work and we've been bringing up some things to leave at the lake. It will be so nice because then I won't need to pack much at all whenever we want to head up (think our toiletries, brushes, curling iron, clothing, sandals, etc) I brought extras of many things so they're just up there now.

Friday was my daughter's big senior party. I'd been working on the committee for months and it was so nice to finally put it all in place. We did an olympics theme and it turned out really cute. They had a fun MC that played themed music, told jokes, directed the event etc. We had an international buffet for the kids including appetizers of chips & salsa, sushi, and stuffed grape leaves. And then a big Italian pasta buffet. Followed by a dessert table of French macarons and fruit with fruit dips and the fruit was in round pans the shapes of the olympic rings and those colors. I caught a few pics (see below) and I had headed the decorating committee. It was a lot of fun to do!

Up at 10 mile we got in some fishing and some rest and relax time too. Unfortunately, Matt's folks need to stay in AZ longer due to their tests and needing more procedures down there. :( They're really bummed by it, but we're just praying they get through everything well and can get up north when they're able.
Continued prayers for them welcome 🙏🏻💕

FROM THE CAMERA:

Scenes from a senior party. I still can't believe she'll graduate soon!

Ten Mile Lake love....

Had to pick up a fishing license and some bait :)

Matt worked for over 5 hours doing yard work and then pressure washing the walk way (it gets mossy and slippery and needs it every couple of years)

I helped with some things...but I also got some relax time that Matt insisted I take and enjoy. Gotta love that man! We brought this quilt up to the lake that has gardening on one side and tractors on the other. Matt grew up in Moline, Illinois - headquarters of John Deere. He has a tractor that also cuts grass, snow blows etc - one of his favorite toys. Lol

put my feet up and enjoy my magazines? (don't mind if I do...)

The walkway looked so pretty when it was all done. I enjoyed the view of it from my comfy perch in the cottage. 😉 Ruby kept me company:

We got cleaned up after working and my Honey took me out for an amazing dinner with a view 😍

An overcast day called for some good fishing - lots of little ones (sunnies & blue gill) but also a few small mouth bass

when the breeze would calm the bugs would come out though - tried to hide under my hood

wonderful weekend 💗

Also, Annie caught this adorable pic of a baby bunny. So sweet!

For an end to the conflicts all over the world and anyone living in war & fear. For peace and unity in this country, especially from hate and shootings or violence.  For anyone sick, suffering, in pain, fear, loneliness etc ... that God bring them comfort and peace. For His Light and Love to cast out the darkness everywhere. For the upcoming graduation of so many kiddos. That they be blessed and their futures be so bright! For Matt's folks to get through their tests and procedures and be able to come up to the lake this summer. 🙏🏻
