Happy Homemaker Monday

Good morning Friends ☀️ 

Can you believe this week turns into September? Where did the summer go?

Did you have a lovely weekend? It was such a nice one here. I hung out with my Mom on Friday. Then Saturday my Dad, step Mom, son, brother and SIL all came over to celebrate my Dad's birthday. So I got wonderful time with all my close family this weekend. 😊  And then Sunday was one of those perfect Sundays. Beautiful weather. Productive time around the house. Then lounging out on the deck with Ruby reading and then playing ball with her. A long fun phone call with my gf out in California. Great chats with another special friend.  Nice evening of home cooked dinner with my Annie and hanging out watching shows together. I even took a little nap in the afternoon - which I never do! Lol Just a really fun and relaxing weekend. Now I'm ready to tackle a new week!

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:

yogurt, iced coffee

ON MY TO DO LIST:

getting new cooktop put in kitchen, bday lunch with my Aunt (her bday) if it works this week, dentist appts, call for Annie haircut, hospice work from home and days up at the facility, errands, shop with Mom?, zoom with my girlfriends, go through closets/drawers clear out old things to bring to goodwill

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE   

work crew is here working on putting in my new cooktop, clean and tidy from the weekend celebration, Ruby is laying by my side as I keep her blocked so she won't bother the work crew, sun is shining in and looks like another beautiful day ahead

 Big Brother,  HGTV shows, the Chase, netflix shows, All Creatures Great and Small, youtube channels I subscribe to

 

ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:

MONDAY -  leftovers

TUESDAY - orchard salad with chicken, roasted sweet potato, apple & toasted pecans (HF meal)

WEDNESDAY - edamame stir fry noodle bowls with veggies (HF meal)

THURSDAY - sun dried tomato spaghetti with fresh herbs, almonds and parm (HF meal)

FRIDAY - out for dinner or order in?

 

TO RELAX THIS WEEK I WILL:

might fun Fall shop with my Mom, read out in the sun, sketch, scrapbook, chat with gf's

Annie at back to school orientation night with a buddy and then on the first day of school 🍎 📚 😊 

my fall pedi and then playing around with my hair and did a kind of faux hawk braid, and teased my son that I was doing viking hair (he's been very into norse and viking culture and likes all the crazy braids they do)

Celebrating my sweet PapaBear's 76th birthday! Love how the marble balloons had lights in them and so they glowed all night 🎈

Happy Monday Friends ☀️  

Annie begins school soon and there are some leaves scattered in my yard and there is definitely Autumn in the air. It was a lovely late summer weekend here. I spent a lot of time outside, as it cooled down a little. And we celebrated Aaron's recent bday - went out for dinner and played games late last week. Also, had a fun night of playing cards with my Mom and throwing some things on the grill. Annie and I have been getting her all set for school and are going to do some fun shopping for that early this week. 

I hope you had a great weekend as well and are getting all set for this new week ahead! Are you getting excited for Fall? Or clinging to summer? I have to admit I've been loving both worlds a bit right now. 😉

ON MY TO DO LIST:

school shopping and back to school night with Annie, hospice work at the facility and from home, groceries/errands, my dad's bday, pedi appt, home projects

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE   

I'm loving what's been done in the new kitchen so far and can't wait to see what it's going to look like when it's fully completed. It's sunny and bright and cool enough this AM yet, so I have windows open and can hear the wind in the trees outside

I've been re-reading some old books and jumping around. I need to find something new that grabs my interest

MONDAY -  BLT's, chips,  fruit

TUESDAY - citrus pork tacos w/pickled onion & southwest crema (HF meal)

WEDNESDAY - out for dinner?

THURSDAY - pasta primavera w/ lemon parm sauce, bell pepper, zucchini and peas (HF meal)

FRIDAY - white cheddar wonderburgers with caramelized onions, special sauce and old bay fries (HF meal) 

 

TO RELAX THIS WEEK I WILL:

getting pedis with Annie & Helaina, read, maybe shop for some Fall clothes, walk with Ruby

The moon was so beautiful this weekend. I've been loving the late summer vibes around here

Hello Friends! 

Happy new week to you. I can't believe how fast this month is flying by already. Lots of back to school talk going on as Annie goes back very soon. But I hope you had a wonderful weekend. It was a nice one here. We had relatives visiting a few days ago and had a great time catching up! We had a bigger gathering and I was able to catch up with a cousin home for a break from Italy! He's in the air force and he and his family were here for a quick visit. Annie and I and some of my cousins are planning a trip next year to go visit there. I'm so excited! So talked about some of those ideas over with my cousin & his wife currently living there as they are going to help show us around. After that some of the cousins came to hang out at my house and we had a fire and gabbed late into the night. Then had breakfast with them before they left the next day. 

I also recently went out for mexican and margaritas with some gf's. Overall a very fun weekend. 😊

I have quite a bit of hospice work this week, MD appt, Aaron's birthday, errands, projects around here

the kitchen is looking empty again - clearing things because granite work happening again today

MONDAY -  wrap sandwiches we didn't have last week, fruit

TUESDAY - chicken taco salad with fajita veggies & creamy chipotle dressing (HF meal)

WEDNESDAY - Aaron's bday, maybe out?

THURSDAY - creamy dill chicken with roasted potatoes & asparagus (HF meal)

FRIDAY - grilled bourbon steak, tomato and grilled zucchini panzanella salad

 

TO RELAX THIS WEEK I WILL:

organize and do some crafting things, read, do some yoga/meditation, maybe go shopping with my Mom, book a massage?

FROM THE CAMERA:

the kitchen is coming along but due to some measurement errors there are some delays - the wall on the right will eventually be a wall of granite. There was a goof up with island measurement and it's off by just a little but enough that they're going to put on a new one - so I get to keep that piece and I'm going to use it somewhere else in the house. Love how it's turning out though! Still more new appliances coming and some woodwork that needs to be finished too.

I've been putting in extra days at the hospice house helping with catch up on scrapbooking obits. I pray over each one - for their families too, as I work on them. It just feels so good to be helping there in many different areas again.
