Hi there Blogland Besties!
Are you having a bright start to your week so far? I sure hope so!
I also hope you're enjoying your May so far as well. The time has sure been flying by. I missed doing this post yesterday as I sadly needed to go to one of my best friend's Dad's funeral. He had cancer and had declined a lot and it was a blessing. But of course still so hard. Sometimes it's hard for me to believe I'm at this stage of life - when our parents are starting to have health issues or we are losing them. Matt & I were talking about this with the Conley's (our other besties who were at the funeral too).
It's the cycle of life, I know. But I live in the strength, love and hope always from our Lord and His promise we will have heavenly reunions one day. 🙏🏻
After the funeral I needed to take my Mom for some errands and didn't get home until late in the day. I hope you all had a wonderful past weekend though!
We had a bit of a travel weekend and went to Green Bay to visit family. We went to a musical with them. And we also did a lot of fun chatting and catch up, played games, and ate some great food! They're relatives from my Dad's side of the family and I'm close with many of them and they joke and call me "the 10th sibling" as I'm always on their text threads etc.
My Aunt was even quizzing my special mentally challenged Uncle Don and was having him say what the states were on a puzzle. She pointed to one and said, 'Your favorite sister lives there' (referring to herself and her name is Mary Jo). And I guess my Uncle answered 'Carrie Anne?' 😂
I love my family so much and feel so blessed for the gift of all of them.

THINKING ABOUT:
How wonderfully green and blooming everything was in GB. Coming back up north was like going back in time. Lol GB had leaves on trees, blooming flowers and trees too. We have no buds on trees but we do have green grass finally. And my daffodil and lily shoots are coming up at least.
AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE
It's clean and tidy and I have the windows open while it's still cool. I can hear my wind chime now and then outside. It may hit 80* today (yay!) so I'll be closing up the house soon. The workers have just begun on our new a/c unit and I hear them now and then. The pets are closed up in the tv room with me to keep them out of the way. We have french doors that close off that space.

TIPS OR SOMETHING TO SHARE:
FROM THE CAMERA:
Matt & I stayed at a lovely Bed & Breakfast in a charming and historical part of Green Bay over the weekend. The home was beautiful with old wood work and built ins. And the owners were so sweet and shared some history of the area and about the B&B that was really cool. They have 5 rooms and we stayed in the suite on the top floor. So we went up to the 2nd floor and then there was a door that when you opened it went to a spiral staircase that led up to our room. Each room had a kind of theme and ours had bits of Asian influence.
The owners are Tom and Linda. And each morning Linda would make breakfast from scratch and it was the most amazing food! They would have the food all packed up in a hamper and we could pick the time we wanted breakfast - and wherever we wanted it served...the dining room, our room, the porch, the garden etc. We had our breakfast up in our room both days. Such a treat!
The first day she had made: a cheese burger frittata (with hamburger, caramelized onions and tomatoes and of course WI cheese), breakfast potatoes, a berry cup with homemade lemon cream, and the BEST homemade cinnamon roll with warm orange glaze I've ever had! All with wonderful hot coffee of course. The food was truly next level.
The second day Linda made: a breakfast bowl with breakfast potatoes, ham, cheese, peppers, onions, scrambled eggs & cheese, a fruit cup with a homemade citrus honey vinaigrette, and a homemade scone with key lime glaze and toasted coconut. I sure wish Linda would move here and cook for us every morning. Lol 😁
On Saturday afternoon we went to this musical with my Aunts and Uncles. It was really fun and the music was awesome! It was based on Neil's life and he is talking with his therapist as an old man in the beginning - unpacking his life through his lyrics when they're looking at his songbook. And they show scenes of his past and of course the amazing music. It was both touching and funny. But the coolest thing was that Nick Fradiani (from American Idol) played young Neil Diamond and he sounded so much like Neil that we joked he sounded more like Neil than Neil does. Matt & I both liked it even more than we thought we would.
Then that night we went to my Aunts cute townhouse and had a taco night and played games. She has a pretty sunroom that looks out on her patio and a view of the lake in her complex. Everything was green and really starting to bloom. It was such a fun weekend that ended too quickly - and on the drive home we went by lots of farms and Amish country. It was a pretty ride home and we chatted lots and belted out toons....just love car rides with my Hubby!! ❤️
PRAYER LIST:
For an end to the conflicts all over the world and anyone living in war & fear. For peace and unity in this country, especially from hate and shootings or violence. For anyone sick, suffering, in pain, fear, loneliness etc ... that God bring them comfort and peace. For a bestie (& her family) that recently lost her Dad.
For Christ's Light and Love to cast out the darkness everywhere and help the world find its way. 🙏🏻
