Hello Friends! 

Happy Monday ☀️  I hope you had a great weekend. It was a strange one here weather wise. Gorgeous and 80* one day and 40's the next! Talk about crazy weather. Lol But not atypical for where I live.

A very nice and fun event this weekend was seeing my Dad and step Mom after so long! They were back from AZ and we celebrated belated Christmas and Mother's Day and had yummy goodies, visited and played games. Also, my son's gf moved back from college and they are renting a house together and started the moving process. Thankfully not too far from my home so I still have my sweet boy handy. 😁 

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING

ON MY TO DO LIST:

Lunch with an Aunt, errands, groceries, let out my bro's dogs, an appointment, and carpenters here working on my new kitchen cabinets all week

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE   

I'm hanging out in the lower level because the carpenter's are working on the new kitchen cabinets. It's clean and tidy down here and Ruby is hanging out with me.

*I don't have a set plan this week, a lot of my kitchen is displaced into my dining and living room. So going to play it by ear depending on how long they're working.

TO RELAX THIS WEEK I WILL:

read out in the sun (when it comes back out), take Ruby for walks, organize some things in my bedroom, watch a movie

I hadn't shared that my kiddos had gotten me these beautiful stained glass hummingbirds. Do they know me or what?? 😉 

I love these new solar lanterns I found that cast the shadow of the trees - they're so very pretty at night

the moon and clouds were so pretty the other night

Brownies from scratch (had them warm with ice cream) for my Dad and step Mom's visit

PRAYER LIST:

I pray for an end to this virus. For peace, healing and unity in our world.  I pray for anyone sick, suffering, isolated, and afraid - for their peace and comfort. Please Lord give strength to those fighting the virus on the frontlines.  🙏 And may the vaccines continue to help the numbers go down and life become more normal.  For peace and healing in my heart with someone I care about and yet I struggle with them.  Blessings over my son's new home.

Chocolate Mint Poke Cake

Annie requested chocolate mint for her birthday this year and I found this recipe for chocolate mint poke cake I found on pinterest and it said it was from www.yummiestfood.com It turned out great and was really yummy! I think the birthday girl was very happy with it and it was just what she was wanting. 😋

Hello Friends! 

Happy new week to you ☀️ Sorry life took over last week and I didn't do much computer time. Glad to be back this week so I can go catch up with everyone. I hope you had a lovely weekend. It was a nice one here. Peaceful and mellow. I picked up more flowers and finally got to digging in the dirt and planting some of my pots. We've been having warmer weather and starting to feel like summer on the way! 

One thing I didn't get to share is that my kind, smart, funny, sporty Annie girlie turned 15 last week! Can you believe it? I sure can't. Sigh. Even though it makes me feel old...I'm so proud of the amazing young woman she is becoming. She is my light and I'm so grateful for the gift of her in my life. I had asked my amazing cookie making gf to make some cookies with cactus as Annie has always had a thing for them ever since we went to AZ to visit my Dad a few years ago. I then rolled with that theme on her cake and decorations too (you can see in pics below). And she requested a chocolate mint poke cake for her bday this year. I'll plan to share the recipe this week. 

I swear it was her 1st bday only yesterday

Need to run several errands this week, more flowers to pick up too. Annie is back to golf practices for school so need to get her to those this week. I have my 2nd covid shot. Going to lunch with my Mom and my Aunt. Ruby haircut this week. I need to start clearing some things out of kitchen cabinets as I think they're going to finally start on my new cabinets maybe even this week!

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE   

Bright and clean from the weekend. The sun is shining in and it's getting warm already. I may actually turn on the air conditioning this week. ☀️

*not sure about this week as depends if they start on my kitchen, I've been trying not to have too much around for when they start to change appliances....so just playing by ear for a while

read, plant more flowers, go to lunch, walk with Ruby, maybe get out golfing with Annie

FROM THE CAMERA:

I think Annie loved her birthday treats. My gf did her cookies in dark chocolate. They were so good! Isn't she amazing with decorating? 

Annie said her cake was perfect too. 😍 

More of my new furniture came too. The side table to match the new coffee table in the tv room finally came. And in the media room downstairs, the new sectional came as well. There was a mix up and the 2nd ottoman is coming next month. The sectional is so comfortable and fits the space down there perfectly. I brought the old side table from upstair down there and picked up a new lamp and some new cushions. I'd like to get more cushions with some of the teal color to match the teal wall in the vaulted part of the room. And I want to find a tray to put on the ottomans that could fit under the side table when it's not needed. I may get a standing lamp for the one corner behind the couch with some teal stained glass yet too. What do you think: 

the other side of the room houses my work table for scrapbooking and my treadmill. I have a little trampoline for rebound exercise and I think I'm going to take the bar off (really don't need it) and then it can fold in half and tuck away.

Flowers are my love language. 💕 It sure starting to look pretty around here. 😊
