Hello Friends!
I'm finally getting to my All Things Autumn tag post. I was tagged by my friend Deb of the blog It's Always Something... and you can find her post here. Thanks for sharing Deb! π
I would love it if any of you would like to join in the fun too! Just copy mine and put in your own answers. But I will specifically tag my friends Sandra of Diary of a SAHM, Jean of Chit Chat with Jean, and Tamy of Chasing my Life because I think they may want to join in.
Yay for this wonderful season! π§♀️πΈπΎππ§‘
1. What is your favorite thing about fall?
Nature! The being out in it when it's turning so pretty and it smells so crisp, walking in leaves, hearing geese fly over, smelling woodsmoke. I think it always evokes memories of being a kid. Plus I love feeling cozy and wearing sweaters, drinking tea, yummy pumpkin things. All of it! I'm so "basic" as my daughter would say. Lol π
2. Do you get fall colors where you live?
I live in northern WI on the border of northern MN and Canada - so yep we get stunning displays around here and I sure enjoy the show!
3. Favorite fall scent? (wax melts, candles, anything)
I love the very traditional cinnamony pumpkin or apple scents the best
4. Favorite fall food or drink?
I love apple cider! A big pot of it with a pinch of brown sugar, cinnamon sticks and oranges floated on top with cloves stuck in them. SO good! I love pumpkin bread, pumpkin spice drinks, candy corn, apple crisp with cinnamon ice cream. YUM!!!
5. Football . . . yay or nay?
I think anyone that has followed me at all knows the answer. Lol Heck Ya and GO PACK GO!
6. Do you rake, jump in, or burn piles of leaves?
As a kiddo I remember my Dad raking and jumping in. I know my kiddos had those moments too. But I've never burned leaves - just had regular campfires
7. Haunted house or corn maze?
I've done a few corn mazes and they're fun! I've never really done haunted house things. I'm too afraid my instinct would be to punch someone if they got in my face or touched me. Hahaha!
8. Have you ever gone on a hayride?
I went on one a few years back when my kids were younger. It was really fun!
9. Cider or hot chocolate?
I'm totally a cider gal. I'll do hot chocolate in the winter holidays. But my true fave is cider. I even do a version of it at Christmas called wassail with orange and lemon juice added with all the spices
10. Carve a pumpkin or eat pumpkin pie?
I do both! I love to carve pumpkins each year and toast the seeds. And pumpkin pie is one of my absolute faves in the world. I make a really unique one that uses Chinese 5 spice in it and it is fabulous if I do say so myself. π
11. Do you dress up for Halloween?
I still occasionally wear fun jewelry or something Halloweenish. But I only did a costume once when my son was like 4 (I was a spider witch) - other than when I was a kiddo myself.
12. Candy corn . . . yay or nay?
Yay all the way! Especially if you add honey roasted peanuts to a bowl of it (tastes like a salted nut roll candy bar)
13. Favorite Halloween season movie?
I love things that aren't gory or too scary. I remember watching the Excorcist when I was in college and I had to sleep in bed with my Mom for a few nights. I do enjoy watching the Harry Potter movies, or Hocus Pocus, or Practical Magic and the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!
14. Scariest movie?
The Excorcist as I said - and the first Ring movie creeped me out big time. I don't watch any of those kinds of movies anymore.
15. Halloween or Thanksgiving?
I like them both for different reasons. Halloween makes me feel like a kid again and I always made it so fun for my kids. Such great memories! But Thanksgiving is right up my alley with family gathering and all the yummy foods to make and bake - makes me feel so cozy.
16. Do you watch the Macy's parade?
I always have to watch the Macy's parade!! I have for many years. Pure tradition and nostalgia that just evokes such happy memories.
17. Apple pie or pumpkin pie?
Pumpkin pie with lots of cold whipped cream and apple crisp with ice cream. Both absolute faves and couldn't decide so I'll jut take both please π
18. White or dark meat?
I like them both - but I tend to grab more white meat.
19. Jellied or real cranberry sauce?
I make homemade cranberry sauce that's really yummy! It's easy too - if you don't do it I encourage you to give it a go. But I also do a can of jellied stuff cuz it's what I always had growing up and my kiddos like that one too.
20. Will you host or travel for Thanksgiving?
I usually host my Mom and step Dad and will have Matt this year too - along with my kiddos, and my Bro and SIL.
I hope you enjoyed and will join in! I look forward to reading the answers of others. π 𧑠I'm also sharing a few pics of season's past:
This is my son and gf when they were in high school Typical he'd make a puking jack o lantern. Lol His gf surprised him by turning her pumpkin around after carving and asking him to MORP (prom spelled backwards and a dance where girl asks guy)
Yummy halloween bark - melt chocolate and throw a bunch of goodies on top, chill and then break into pieces
Love toasting the seeds!
My daughter loves the movie Dodgeball! Lol This was a few years ago
Apple cider goodness! π
One of my bestie's is an amazing cookie maker - she decorated this whole Fall collection for me a few years ago close to my bday. They were dark chocolate cookies with marshmallow royal icing. Boy were they fabulous!
My Thanksgiving table last year. I got fun holiday "crackers" for everyone to open
They had funny hats, jokes and prizes inside. ;)
