Happy Monday Friends ~
Halloween week!! Getting some final things ready. I've been a slacker and Annie and I haven't even carved a pumpkin yet - (going to fix that tonight). Plus need to finish decorating out in front of the house too. We have friends and family coming over tomorrow for some Halloween fun and trick-or-treating... so need to get myself moving.
I hope you had a wonderful weekend. We had a really nice one over here. There was some hockey practices. Annie made it on a new hockey team for this winter and her Dad is going to be the coach - so she's happy. Annie had some sleepovers with friends over here. My son attended MORP dance (it's prom spelled backwards as girls ask the guys). His girlfriend was supposed to be out-of-town so they weren't going to go. But last minute her plans were cancelled so they decided to go and just didn't do the whole formal tux thing and dressed up, but more casually. It sounded like they had lots of fun with their group of friends. And Hubby and I had a fun date night at home on Saturday. We made a snacky kind of dinner and hung out down in the media room and munched and watched a movie. Like going out on a date night but we got to just be in our pj's and snuggle closer. Works for me ;) More snuggle time and football watching on Sunday. We also took my MIL and FIL out for their 54th wedding anniversary! Pretty awesome to celebrate so many years. Her Alzheimer's breaks my heart, but they both seemed healthy and happy yesterday and we had a lovely afternoon out with them. My FIL is hanging in there. But it's so hard to have to see my Hubby struggle with the sadness of it too. Love that family - my family too - so much and pray for them daily and just keep being here for them the best I'm able.
I hate when weekends end but now it's on to the week ahead...
THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:
Gray, cloudy, windy and cold! It's only in the 30's today and supposed to only be in the 30's for Halloween tomorrow (poor trick-or-treators). Bbrrr. Looks like only 30's and 40's all week and we may get more snow on Wednesday. I guess winter is truly around the corner.
ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:
A slice of cranberry wild rice bread, toasted with butter and a little bit of orange marmalade. Yum. And coffee with vanilla creamer.
I used some of that bread when I made vanilla spiced french toast and boy was that good!!
RIGHT NOW I AM:
Watching the morning news, Ruby snuggled at my feet, and working on my planner while I work in this.
AS I LOOK OUTSIDE MY WINDOW:
I still see some of deck furniture out. The snow we had all melted, but more is coming. Since we didn't get it put away this weekend we'll probably take care of that tonight and I'll get the rest of my Halloween decorations to put out front too.
AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE:
Still a few things to get done and cleaned up before we have folks over tomorrow night. I need to grab more groceries too - have some fun spooky goodies planned. Looking forward to having our fireplace going tomorrow night, so nice and cozy. Apple cider on the stove and candles glowing inside and out along with all the candy and fun with kiddos. Bring on Halloween
