Happy Homemaker Monday

Hello and Happy Monday my Friends!

It's a crazy weather one here. It's kind of snowing, mixed with rain - getting icy. Annie's friend stayed overnight last night but no school for them due to the scary weather. I just keep dreaming Spring will show up timely this year!! My son came home for lunch too - so I've been playing Carrie's kitchen diner part of the day. I made pancakes for Annie this morning and my son had some of then and other things when he came home for lunch. I did some hospice work I needed to from home and now I'm finally getting to work on this post.

It was a mellow weekend here because I've been getting over the last of this head cold crud. Saturday I had energy and cleaned and got out my Spring decorations. I've made Matt stay away because of my cold - but he did come hang out this weekend. Yesterday we played cards, sat out in the sunshine on the back deck because it was a much nicer day, and watched a movie. I'm feeling much better today and even have most of my voice back and don't sound like a bullfrog anymore. Lol So I'm ready to tackle the week ahead...

FROM THE CAMERA:

Even though there's snow and blech outside - giving off nothing but Spring vibes inside! 🌸 🐰

The sky was so blue yesterday. And it wasn't windy and the sun felt warm - so even though it was only 25* out it felt lovely. Matt didn't have his boots here - but I walked down our backyard hill with Ruby - trekked through the snow and threw her snowballs. Matt had his glasses on but it was so bright he could hardly see and didn't have sunglasses so I found an old pair of mine and put them over his regular glasses. I told him he looked like Elton John! 😂  He said they did the trick so that was all that mattered. Lol

Ruby has a snow mustache all winter long ❄️

PRAYER LIST:

For an end to the conflict in the Ukraine and other areas of the world living in war & fear. For peace and unity in this country, especially from hate and shootings or violence.  For anyone sick, suffering, in pain or fear... that God bring them comfort and peace. For His Light and Love to cast out the dark everywhere 🙏

PRAYER, INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE OR DEVOTIONAL:

Have a wonderful week! I always appreciate the time I get to spend with you here friends. xo

Friday Five Senses

Hello Friends! Happy Friday to you.

I'm bummed because I was so good at fighting off all of the flu and cold germs all season...but this past week I finally succumbed. I have a horrible head and chest cold (thankfully not covid). So I have been coughing, sneezing, feeling tired - the whole deal. Today I have finally felt a little bit better so I have been cleaning up a bit. Lysoling everything. And I thought I'd do some blogland visits and a quick post of a Friday 5 senses. 😊

SEE

I can see the sunbeams shining in the window - which probably contributed to my bit of pep. It has been gray lately, and we got several more inches of snow the past few days. So even though it's really cold today, the sunbeams give a nice burst of energy.

HEAR

I can hear the velvety rub and squeak of markers as I work on a coloring page today. I'm also listening to Celtic harp music and they both have been really relaxing soothing sounds in my day.

TASTE

The first pic is from a few days ago - but this has been my drink on repeat lately. The bottom cup is my current one I'm sipping the last of right now. It's orange and spice tea with a squeeze of lemon and little honey & cinnamon. I like this tea because my tastebuds are dulled from my cold - but I can still taste the spices in the tea and the bright citrus from the orange and the squirt of lemon. The honey helps coat and soothe my throat.

FEEL AND SMELL

I'm sort of cheating and lumping these 2 senses together. I can feel the nice soft aloe in the tissue when I blow my poor sore nose. I can't smell too well right now. Lol But I can smell the strong menthol vapor given off in these cough drops. They work well!

I hope you have a cozy and very healthy weekend ahead.
xoxo

Wordless Wednesday

**(a cat adopted Matt after his divorce several years ago. He named him Bubba and Mr Bubba will be moving in here this Spring too. I saw this sign at Hobby Lobby for a kid's room. Matt had the little wood black cat and I hot glued it to the sign. I thought it would be a cute decoration around here, and will help Bubba feel more at home in the future)

Happy Homemaker Monday

Good morning and Happy Monday to you dear Friends!

It's currently snowing here and feels like Spring will never show up. I shouldn’t  complain too much, because it can be worse here in the northwoods. We have had some recent mild weather and the snowbanks went down quite a bit. But winter is letting us know it's not done just yet. And I have cabin fever and dreaming on all things flowers, garden, sunshine and hummingbirds. Sigh.

How was your weekend? It was a lovely one here. Matt & I went to a Boat Show at our local arena. I forgot to grab any pics - but we had so much fun looking at all the water craft "toys" and going through all of the different kinds of campers. We really want to get one in the future...but may just rent some first to see what kind we really like. There were all kinds of fun booths too. Matt bought me a beautiful olive wood French style rolling pin(from Jerusalem). I've always wanted one and this one is so beautiful. You can see a pic later in this post.

Then Saturday I went out to lunch with my bestie Mrs. C. (Mr C and their daughter were out-of-town for a volleyball tourney). And I may have done a little damage doing some Spring shopping....which you can also see below. Then Sunday Matt & I ran our usual errands (we're such Costco people - do you shop there?). And last night we hung out with my Mom and step Dad and brought them dinner and played some Mexican train dominos. My step Dad is finally looking more like himself since his bypass back in December.  It was a fun weekend...oh and just for the record I won the dominos game.  😉 😂

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:

A cutie, handful of pistachios, coffee with natural almond milk creamer

ON MY TO DO LIST THIS WEEK:

PT appt, Matt's day off - getting a quote on some window repair at his house, errands, work on project for Annie's school (I'm on a committee), hospice work from home and at facility, set up annulment appt with my priest.

THINKING ABOUT:

Ok, I do need to do a little more Matt gushing about our Valentines Day. He often has Tuesdays off, as he usually works Saturdays right now, and so he had Valentine's day off. We went on a scenic drive along Lake Superior (even though it was cold and rainy) and had the most amazing meal at a little cozy restaurant up there. It's like a cozy cabin atmosphere but they serve incredible upscale kinds of things - with local ingredients. Amazing flavor profile kinds of things. We both think it's really fun to try new things. If you look at my wordless wednesday post from last week you'll see the fancy dessert I had. Anyway, after the wonderful meal we got into the car to head back and Matt starts playing a song over the bluetooth. He had written me a song - all about our story and sent it to a company that will play it in your style of choosing. Matt plays guitar and has a beautiful voice and used to play and sing and write in his younger years, when he had time. Lol He chose a singer and guitar style - like he would play,  and the guy even sounded kind of like Matt.  I started listening to the words and realized what was going on and couldn't stop tears from falling constantly as I listened. I was stunned and overwhelmed and so moved by his thoughtfulness...and just how much he makes me feel loved and treasured.

I'm just sure enjoying the M & C journey. 😊

Been finding lots of Spring treasures recently. My gf gave me these gorgeous stained glass flowers at Christmas - and I finally found the right vase/jug that I liked to put them in.
