Wednesday Wonder: A Final Sneak Peek and a little Break

Hello Friends!

I can't thank you all enough for the kind wishes you shared on my last post. This community has always been so loving and supportive of me (& now adopting Matt too) πŸ˜‰ and I love and appreciate you all so very much!!

I thought I would share more of a true sneak peek of the dress from the first time I tried it on. And also pics from the trial run for my hair plan. Being fellow girlies - I thought you'd love to see those touches. And then I'm signing off for a bit. I'm not sure if I'll post next week...so just in case I don't, I wanted to wish you all so many blessings for the weekend ahead and for all the transitioning into this lovely Fall season. Even though it's 80* here today! Lol

Here goes:

The first time I tried on the dress - I threw my hair up, put on the headpiece I found on etsy and grabbed my bouquet to take a few pics. I wanted to send some to a few of my core peeps to see what they thought. The reaction I got was all I needed to know this was THE ONE! πŸ’›πŸ’™

And here are some shots of the trial run for the hair - I am going for soft twists and curls pinned up to fit the vintage romantic feel of the dress and headpiece:

And I will be wearing a little veil from underneath. Add in some jewels and they will do up my makeup and I think we're in business! Time to get this party started! I can't wait to say the vows of my heart to my Matthew and to start our new life together. πŸ‘°πŸΌπŸŒΌ

And in the evening after all the formal things - we will sit out by fire pits along the lake. There are lawn games and s'mores stations and just time to sit and chill with our people out under the sky. Since it gets chilly at night now I got this cute navy sweatshirt with sunflowers embroidered on the sleeves. And these tiny crochet sunflower earrings. So after dinner I will put this on and my yoga pants and just get comfy. And we have a late night french fry bar ordered with different kinds of fries and sauces too! It's going to be a fun night and I hope a lovely weekend for all.

Hugs & love to you all! ❌⭕️

Happy Homemaker Monday (on a Tuesday)

Hello and happy September Friends! 🍎🍁

I can't believe we're here!! In our wedding month - yay!! To say we're getting excited, pumped, nervous butterflies ...well all would be an understatement. Lol Matt and I are both so thankful for it all though. And we just continue to say prayers of gratitude for being led to one another and to be blessed to start a new journey hand-in-hand and thrilled for our new beginning ahead. πŸ™πŸ»πŸ˜Š

I hope you had a lovely weekend? We had the lovely long Labor Day holiday weekend here and spent it with Matt's folks up at the lake. That's why I'm not getting to this post until today. It's always so nice to connect with them and it's easy to see how much joy it brings them. His Mom always says holds us close and says how hard it is when we have to leave. But we treasure the time when we're there and we had fun kind of saying goodbye to summer. It gets chilly in the northwoods at night and early mornings now. So we knew it would be the final time of water activities. We went in the lake and swam and we pontooned - but the water is getting awfully cold now! We sat on the dock and caught some sun rays. We played games, went for walks, ate great food, watched movies. Just had a long restful weekend. And now we'll get to see them again soon enough when they drive up for the wedding! Also, they gave us our wedding gifts so they wouldn't have to haul them and one gift was a cornhole set! Lol I'd been telling Matt we should get one. Just one more fun competitive game we can play (& I can beat him at) πŸ˜‰

*we told people not to get us anything though - we are blessed & need nothing and asked instead they donate to a wonderful cause in our name

FROM THE CAMERA:

The walks this past weekend were so lovely:

spotting more autumn moments in the northwoods!

The sun felt so good lounging on the dock:

And on the pontoon:

We enjoyed way too many good nibbles including easy apple dumplings I made to go with ice cream. And Matt's Mom made homemade egg rolls and homemade crab rangoon. She fried them and then kept them all warm in the oven. What a wonderful meal that was! πŸ˜‹

And by last night back home sweet home

For an end to the conflicts all over the world and anyone living in war & fear. Specials for the Israeli hostage families and for peace there. For peace and unity in this country, especially from hate and shootings or violence.  For anyone sick, suffering, in pain, fear, loneliness etc ... that God bring them comfort and peace. For His Light and Love to cast out the darkness everywhere and help the world find its way. For blessings on the marriage of Matthew and I coming up soon. And for safe travels and good health for all of our loved ones. πŸ™πŸ»

Wednesday Wonder: It's Getting Real

The invitations are here and being sent out. I'm really happy with how they turned out as I used a site where I could kind of design them a bit myself. It sure makes it all feel real and like it's right around the corner! (insert my palpitating heart here) The invitations are folded and open up vertically. πŸ’Œ

I love the vintage feel to them. And the colors fit perfectly with my bouquet of sunflowers and some navy flowers thrown in. I know it's more "modern" to do a website and use technology more. But our wedding is going to be very small. Very us. And I love the romance of paper things that I can keep and hold on to forever. πŸŒ»πŸ’›

Love sharing all of these details with you, my blogland besties. If I could - you'd all be there too. Just know you're in my heart and will be there that way. Curious though, what would you pick for dinner? Lol

PS: dessert includes a small white almond wedding cake and buttercream frosting with sunflowers on it. And chocolate mini cupcakes with peanut butter frosting (Matt's favorite flavors), cookie butter cake pops (my favorite, especially for Fall), and chocolate covered strawberries.

Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Monday Friends!

How are things going in your neck of the woods?
Around here we got a little snow late last week...but it's already almost fully melted. It's supposed to be lovely today. Then snow tomorrow. Cold Wednesday and then start to get nice again. And so goes the roller coaster of the northwoods weather these days. Lol

Did you have a lovely weekend? It was a fun one here. Friday we went to our wedding venue! My bestie Mrs. C went with us too. We walked around with our wedding coordinator there, and got a tour of where we would be married and where we would stay on the property (as well as friends and family that will stay), and we got to do a food tasting. It was all so wonderful!! It's so beautiful up there along the Lake Superior shore. The buildings on the property are all like Scandinavian lodges. So charming!!

We also got to taste samples from the bakery we're going to use for our wedding cake and they were awesome! It's all sure making it feel real and our Autumn wedding will be here before we know it. ❤️

Then we went to our besties the C's daughter's volleyball tourney. Watched several games and cheered them on to being champs!! And then went out for yummy Mexican dinner at one of our new faves (as it's a new one that opened in our town). And did lots of our usuals the rest of the weekend and snuck in some rest time and watched a few movies. It was another wonderful weekend in the books. Now on to this week ahead...

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:

THINKING ABOUT:

Matt's eye surgery tomorrow. Praying all will go smoothly and it's amazing to think that after his 2 surgeries he won't need glasses anymore! Crazy! πŸ™πŸ»πŸ’•

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE

I still didn't get to Easter/Spring decorations due to shoulder & back stuff yet. But doing better every day - working out gently and doing therapy stretches and hopefully I will get out Spring decor next weekend. Maybe even start this week. 🐰🌸

furry baby love - as you can see Ruby just got her haircut too πŸ’•

was helping my Mom last week and she commented she likes when my hair is up and the dark underneath mixes with the blonde. Lol

My bestie caught some pics when we went up to the wedding venue. It was so chilly that day, but will hopefully be beautiful there this early Fall on our big day! The top pic is Matt with the wedding coordinator, and the bottom pic shows right behind Matt & I is the exact spot where we'll get married... by those trees. :)

The recent snowy day we got was pretty - but I'm glad it didn't last!
