Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Monday Friends 

I was busy this AM running Annie to get a tooth filled and brought her up to school. Ran some errands and accomplished some tasks around home. It's been a rain/snow mix on and off today. I'm always so much more awake on a sunny day so I'm trying to keep myself motivated on a gray non-motivating day ;)  

I hope you had a lovely weekend.  Our boy had his last prom over the weekend here. I still can't believe he'll be graduating in only a few months! Annie had a volleyball tourney and she got her new set of golf clubs. She was so excited! Now she doesn't need to use mine but I'm jealous of her new set. Lol  It's so nice and shiny and new. She spent some of the weekend practicing away on a golf mat out on the driveway.

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING

 Annie and I grabbed a fun fast food breakfast (per her request) after her dentist appointment before bringing her up to school. I had a bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich and vanilla iced coffee

RIGHT NOW I AM:

working on my planner for the week, Ruby is snuggling on my feet

AS I LOOK OUTSIDE MY WINDOW

Looking at the gray and wet out the window- but the grass is starting to get so green, which is so nice to see ;) 

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE

It's pretty tidy and cozy. I have a nice mug of tea steaming next to me and I can hear the wind chimes outside making pretty music out in the breeze. The dryer is tumbling and I just like to enjoy the "quiet" of the house like this sometimes

ON THIS WEEK'S TO DO LIST:

Still spring cleaning house projects to accomplish. Help my Mom with some things at her place. Groceries, errands, and bring FIL meal. Annie has hockey and golf practices.  My hospice volunteer time

Been side tracked by some fun Spring magazines, but still need to fully finish last book I was reading

ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:

MONDAY:  leftovers from the weekend

TUESDAY: sweet grilled cream cheese & fruit sandwiches, veggies & dip

WEDNESDAY: ditali pasta in spicy tomato sauce with broccoli (BA meal)

THURSDAY: meatloaf, scalloped potatoes, garden salad

FRIDAY: smothered chicken quesadilla with carrot jalapeno slaw (BA meal)

WHAT I AM CREATING AT THE MOMENT

scrapbook gift for a relative, craft room

NEW RECIPE I WANT TO TRY THIS WEEK:

the blue apron meals are always new recipes and fun to make ;) If you're ever interested in any I list - just let me know and I can post the recipe

TIP OF THE WEEK:

 I think this is kind of funny and kind of brilliant. Lol Of course would only work for thinner cookbook

FROM THE CAMERA

We had an unfortunate mishap the end of last week. I had the umbrella up on the patio set and I hadn't closed it yet. And in the evening it had gotten a bit windier and a gust picked it up and it flew into one of our windows. Fortunately, it only cracked the outer pane of glass

And my sweet girl working on her golf game every day ;) 

I brought some dinner and snickerdoodle cookies I had made to my Mom over the weekend. On the drive home the sunset made the sky so pretty

Wednesday Wonder

THE BAY IS OPEN!

Happy Homemaker Monday

Hi Friends 

Happy Monday and I hope you had a wonderful Easter holiday - those that celebrated it ;) It was a lovely day here. Not weather-wise. It was rainy and gray. But after mass we had ham dinner here with my Mom and Adam's Dad and afterwards we played games. It was good food, good laughs and fun & sunshine on a rainy Easter day. 

It's another rainy day today to start the week ahead...

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING

 I had naughty toast ;) I found jars that have cookie butter and hazelnut spread mixed in it. SO good! So I had toast with that and peach yogurt with a cup of coffee with natural sweet cream creamer

RIGHT NOW I AM:

listening to HGTV in the background as I work on this

AS I LOOK OUTSIDE MY WINDOW

I'm watching a bunny munch on wet grass in the yard. And as you can see in this pic the last of the ice on the bay is breaking up and there are fully open areas of water now. Yay! I even watched some ducks swimming around earlier this AM. I love to see what kind of show nature is going to put on here each day 

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE

Pretty tidy yet from the cleaning over the weekend. I still have one last load of dishes to finish up from yesterday yet. 

ON THIS WEEK'S TO DO LIST:

Annie golf practices, her volleyball practice, and summer hockey practice. Errands. volunteer time. Help my Mom. Bring food to FIL. Spring clean the master bath room (I keep putting it off) and maybe even get to my closet too (eek!)

finishing fun book I was reading on airplane during flights called Broken Bone China by Laura Childs. It's a fun tea time kind of mystery book so lots of fun recipes and entertaining ideas in it too ;)

WEDNESDAY: chicken lettuce cups with jasmine rice & garlic soy sauce (BA meal)

THURSDAY: fontina & apple grilled cheese sandwiches with roasted broccoli on the side (BA meal) - and if still need to get rid of some ham may throw that in the sandwiches too

FRIDAY: slow cooker honey lime chicken tacos (leftovers on weekend will be used to make nachos and quesadillas)

Since it was Aaron's last Spring at home before college and he's off to his independent young adult life - I still did our tradition of hiding treats around the house for the kids to find. (do you like the gummy bunnies enjoying tea in my fairy house?)

And I did a scavenger hunt for the kids to find their bigger Easter gift. Annie was excited to get started as you can see. The clues eventually led them to find their bag of final goodies in the car in the garage 

Annie and I whipped up some fruit pizza cookies and she made this one wink at me ;) 

I got a shot of the table before folks got here and forgot to take one of us together and I guess just enjoyed the moment

This is my favorite spring/summer salad bowl (because humming bird love of course)

And it held a favorite spinach strawberry salad. Yum!

Happy Easter!

Hello Friends ~ 

I just wanted to pop in a wish you all a very blessed and Happy Easter. Here some pics of Spring and Easter around our northwoods home ;) 

As you can see the sun has finally decided to bring some Spring warmth and melt the last of our snow. The bay isn't open yet - but should be soon! Ruby and I have been soaking up sunbeams and getting in some good walks

I flooded the house with bouquets of tulips in time for Easter ;) 

Even though my youngest is 12 we still get ready for Peter Cottontail to visit

And tomorrow we won't adorn ourselves with Easter bonnets for mass - but we will dress up nicely ;) 

And we know the real reason for this season - Jesus is Risen! Counting every single blessing. I hope you are too. xoxo
