Happy Monday my Friends ~

I hope you had a lovely weekend. Ours was filled with lots of hockey as we were out of town for Annie's hockey tourney. Her team didn't place that great but they played hard and won their final game 6-0! Annie scored a goal too. :) 

I plan to do Annie's bday post with recipes tomorrow, as I never got to it last week. Annie ended up staying home 2 days from school, last week, due to being sick. She actually only played part of her tourney due to still feeling crummy. She has had more energy now and hoping she's finally kicking it!  

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

Cloudy for the most part but nice in the 60's. Looks like maybe 70's most of the week with some rain maybe Thursday or Friday

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:

Toast with lemon curd, pear,  hazelnut coffee

RIGHT NOW I AM:

Listening to George Ezra station and working on my planner 

AS I LOOK OUTSIDE MY WINDOW

I just saw a deer come across our back yard and run into the woods. Ruby's barking from the window probably didn't help :P

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE:

Fairly tidy. Still some things from the trip this weekend to put away

ON THIS WEEK'S TO DO LIST:

Annie's soccer and hockey practices. Soccer games. Groceries and errands. Meal for FIL and visit MIL. Make some appointments. Plan to tackle more fully my craft room/office. Hospice volunteering. Start getting some of the flowers for outside.  Day with my Mom.  Get things ready for Memorial weekend coming up

  American Idol, Bering Sea Gold, Survivor, Billions, Dancing with the Stars, Little Women on PBS, movies taped

 

ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:

MONDAY: clean out the fridge

TUESDAY: chicken alfredo pasta, dinner rolls, veggies

WEDNESDAY: easy night? (soccer game)

THURSDAY: stuffed pork chops, salad

FRIDAY: flatbread pizzas

SOMETHING INTERESTING I WATCHED 

I haven't watched any new movies or anything new online. But I wanted to talk about how wonderful the royal wedding was - did you watch? I thought it was all so beautiful and loved the mix of British tradition and American parts in the service. I thought Meghan looked gorgeous and absolutely adored her dress and veil - so angelic. And I LOVED when the choir sang Stand by Me as that song hits home for me and my "ginger". It was the first song we ever danced to in high school and we had that song at our wedding reception too. Just so fun to watch a fairy tale (or at least this hopeless romantic sure things it is!) Here are some pics they just released today from Harry and Meghan's day:

WHAT I AM CREATING AT THE MOMENT

I need to finish cleaning out my office/craft space. I have more projects to work on that I need to find the rest of my materials for. I also have a fun project I'm starting as a future wedding gift for a relative. Plus, one top secret project that I may not be able to share for quite a while - but I'm SO excited about it. Sorry to tease but just has to stay under wraps yet  (no changes here)

NEW RECIPE I WANT TO TRY THIS WEEK:

Not sure? Maybe something new for the holiday weekend coming up? Eyeing up a recipe for milky way brownies....hmmm - could be too dangerous :P

Got home from the hockey weekend last night and it was a beautiful one on the bay. Sat out and enjoyed it with Ruby and you can see a person canoeing between the trees to Ruby's left. We get a lot of folks coming into our bay to fish, kayak, and canoe

And noticed my daffs up last night so had to pick a few to bring some sunshine inside ;)

Happy Homemaker Monday

Hello Friends ~ 

Another Monday has come around in the northwoods. It was such a lovely weekend. We had such fun for Annie's birthday and I'll share more about that and some recipes on a post I plan to put up this week. Then Mother's Day was so nice here yesterday. The weather was amazing and we had my Mom and my in-law's over and I made a fun BBQ meal and we all spent time out on the deck enjoying the gorgeous day! My family spoiled me in the morning with flowers, sweet cards and my favorite candy (dark chocolate with sea salt caramel). My hubby also picked up my favorite Chinese food on Saturday night. I hope all you sweet Mama's here in the States, whom also celebrated, had a lovely weekend as well. xo

Now on to another full week ahead...

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

Sunny and beautiful today.  Supposed to be high 70's, the only upper 50's tomorrow, 80 on Wednesday! Then cooler 50's/60's rest of the week

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:

Sargentos balanced breaks cup (cubed cheese, cashews & dried cranberries) and a cup of hazelnut coffee

RIGHT NOW I AM:

Doing loads of laundry in between working on this - working on my planner.  Listening to Brunch in Bed radio on my pandora

AS I LOOK OUTSIDE MY WINDOW

I see the sun shining away on the bay and watching Ruby fetch the ball I just took a break and threw for her ;) 

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE:

I need to take down Annie's birthday banner still up in the doorway.  Need to load some dishes in the dishwasher. Otherwise looking sunny, bright and tidy

ON THIS WEEK'S TO DO LIST:

Soccer and hockey practices (getting ready for a hockey tourney -instead of socce -  this time), Annie's strings concert at school, MIL time and meal for FIL, hospice volunteer time, errands, projects around home, start making plan for flowers outside, outside work, and rooms inside yet to organize around here but not sure I'll get to them this week...

I'm planning to read Whispering in French by Sophia Nash next, but haven't started it yet (still didn't start this one yet)

 

ON THE TV TODAY:

Timeless,  American Idol, Greys Anatomy, Gold Rush, Survivor, Billions, Dancing with the Stars, Little Women on PBS

 

ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:

MONDAY: leftover BBQ chicken sandwiches, pasta salad etc from Mother's Day lunch yesterday

TUESDAY: breakfast for dinner? (maybe egg bake, toast, fruit)

WEDNESDAY: might be easy night due to hockey practice

THURSDAY: clean out the fridge before next grocery trip - probably some form of sandwiches, soup & salad

FRIDAY: out for dinner

SOMETHING INTERESTING I WATCHED

I think I have shared this before - but I love Johnnie Lawson videos on youtube. He films nature scenes ... primarily in Ireland that last for hours. Beautiful countryside with flowers, green hills, birds singing. Or maybe a pond with a little waterfall etc. Just beautiful visual and sound background noise when working on the computer or other projects

I need to give a shout out to our dearest "Auntie Patsy" for sending our Annie-girl the sweetest flowers and card for her birthday. She'd never received flowers just for her before and she was just tickled and thought it was the coolest thing ever! ;) 

It was such a gorgeous day here yesterday. And hubby had mowed the lawn for the first time the day before so it smelled so good with that fresh cut grass smell. We had new landscaping put in late last summer on our hill and had new sod that we will see if it will fully survive or may need new stuff this summer? We put in this path and new lower deck that then leads to stairs down to our dock. We still need to do railing around it and finish the landscaping around it. Planning to put a bench down there and pretty pot of flowers for another beautiful spot to sit and enjoy the bay. I'll share more as things get accomplished around here!

Sweet cards, personal messages, and goodies from the hubby and kiddos yesterday.They also helped around the house extra. Love the little figure Annie picked out for me too. I felt very loved ;) 

When all the festivities ended I took some extra time to just sit in the sun and soak up the day. I never tire of this view and I'm so very grateful each day to have it - as well as all the beautiful blessings in my life. Including you Friends xoxo
