Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy New Week Friends

I missed you the past few weeks. My daughter and I went to FL to visit my son going to school down there. It was a wonderful week of sunshine, warm temps, and Disney World fun. We also got to see his campus. Hang out in his apartment. And I did all the Mom things - deep cleaned a bit for him, bought him groceries and made some dishes. It was so hard to say goodbye. But wonderful to see him doing so well independently and happy and thriving. His girlfriend is going to school in CO and she came for a visit the end of the time we were there. So we got to see her too! ♥️ I will post a few pics from the trip today - but I'll do more of a trip post this week and share all of the photos there.

Then last week was catch up week around here. Also, I hurt my knee (not sure what I did) but had to go in for that and will be doing some PT. So this week I feel more back to real life and trying to get back to my blog time. I had some errands I needed to do yesterday and a hair appt & other appt in the afternoon. I've been playing cleaning catch up today because my knee feels better and had to take Ruby in for her hair cut. So I'm finally sitting down to work on this post and try to jump back into blogland 😊

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

the sun is shining and all the birds have ben out singing - my birdfeeder broke so I improvised. I hope the squirrels don't catch on before the birds get their fill

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING

peach yogurt with sunflower seeds, iced vanilla coffee

HOW I AM FEELING THIS MORNING:

I was feeling more peppy this AM and my knee has been feeling much better and has stopped clicking and popping (it had been doing it for a week and 1/2 straight!)

ON MY MIND:

My to do list for the week - besides the appointments I've already had. I need to get groceries and get a meal to my FIL this week. Do dinner with my Mom later in the week. Need to plan something with my Bro soon too. My hospice work this week because I'm also training someone in. I need to register Annie for golf at school. Take care of some bday things for loved ones that have birthdays this month. And thinking about my friend making his way from the far north to move back to MN.

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE

It's tidy and nice and bright with sunshine streaming in today. I finally took down all the valentines decorations and the last of the winter things - including my cocoa bar is all gone. 😢 But it's fun to see the bits of Spring things I have put out. Even with piles of snow outside, it's not stopping the bright positive focus of Spring in my cozy home. 🌸 🌹

CHORE I'M NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS WEEK:

I started to touch my craft room before the trip - but now I think my kitchen cabinets and island need my full attention first. I need to take things out. Donate some things, scrub out cabinets and I want to reorganize a bit.

FROM THE CAMERA:

view from the balcony outside Aaron's apartment. His complex is very nice and has a tennis court and couple of pools

shopping with my Sweeties. Before going to the Disney resort, Annie & I stayed at a beautiful hotel run by a private college. There is a whole district around it with upscale shops and restaurants. We got some fun shopping in and ate at a really authentic Italian place that was SO good!

I'll share some pics from our time at Disney World parks - but look for a full post with details about planning a trip there later this week. This was in Epcot and Annie & I stopped in "France" to have macaron ice cream sandwiches - heavenly!!

we stayed at the Disney Wilderness Lodge resort - it was beautiful and so handy for going back and forth the the different parks

One of the mornings there our fast passes were for later in the day. So we decided to sleep in. Had a wonderful bananas foster french toast breakfast in our room. Then went to the pool and here we are sitting in the hot tub. It was so wonderful and relaxing

And I even dried off laying out in the sun a little (with sunscreen!) just listening to the sounds of the pool and birds and it just felt like vacation. 🌴

my hearts!!

When Aaron's GF Helaina was there we went to a really cool mini golf place by Orlando ❤️

Somewhere along the way I injured myself.  So knee brace time it was - ugh! But Ruby was happy to have us home

Now to make up for all the good eating I've been back to WW and counting points everyday. A favorite 1 pt snack is apple slices with little sprinkle of honey and sunflower seeds

Bits of Spring starting to show up around the house
