Hello Friends!
Happy new week to you. I missed blogging last week...but happy to share this week and will be coming around to say hello. 😊
I hope you had a lovely weekend? It was a cozy one here, even though the weather was a bit warm for where I live. I hauled out Fall decorations and I have begun more in-depth cleaning and decorating. I did some cozy cooking and baking and spent some time with my Mom catching up and playing cards. I caught up on some movies and overall it was nice and relaxing. I didn't get to watch my Packers yet (they play tonight) - but I sure hope they look better than they did last week! Ugh!!
I was out running errands this morning and took Ruby to the vet for her check up. But now finally home to work on this and accomplish some more around here.
ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:
peach yogurt, coffee with vanilla creamer
ON MY TO DO LIST:
Ruby vet (waiting to get her blood work back tomorrow), errands, hospice work at facility and from home, help my Mom with some boxes at their apartment, electrical work done here, getting together with a girlfriend, home projects, might zoom with friends
AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE
getting darker and more gray - rain is supposed to come soon, Ruby is snoring at my feet, sipping iced chai tea latte and looking at some decorations I yet have out to figure out where I want to put them
CURRENTLY READING
I realized I never finished reading Midnight at the Blackbird Cafe by Heather Webster - so I am reading that and some new Fall magazines and cookbook currently
ON THE TV TODAY:
Big Brother, HGTV shows, the Chase, Poldark & other PBS shows I haven't watched, Cable Girls on Netflix, I think I'm going to get Apple TV - I want to see the movie CODA and some shows on there
ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:
MONDAY - leftover ham & scalloped potatoes
TUESDAY - crispy Franks red hot spiced chicken with blue cheese sauce, mashed potatoes and carrots (HF meal)
WEDNESDAY - sweet corn and green pepper chowder with old bay toast (HF meal)
THURSDAY - creamy ricotta tomato ravioli with kale and lemony tuscan sauce (HF meal)
FRIDAY - might order pizza?
TO RELAX THIS WEEK I WILL:

TIPS OR SOMETHING TO SHARE:
FROM THE CAMERA:
Daniel Durant is a deaf actor and has been on Broadway and in the show Switched at Birth and now currently in the movie CODA (child of deaf adults) with the actress Marlee Matlin. His mother just happens to be one of Annie's teachers at the private school she attends. She had his Mom one year there and would stay in at lunch sometimes with her to learn ASL. They had a premiere for the movie in our hometown and Daniel came and Annie and her friend went to watch. They got to meet Daniel and take photos with him. 🎥 🍿
caught some trees turning pretty colors up by the hospice facility
Miss my MIL Cherie so much. Lost her to Alzheimer's about 3 years ago. I recently went to my in-law's former home (Adam encouraged me to do it) to dig up some of her peonies that meant so much to her. I transplanted several of them in-between my lilies around the deck. 🌸 🙏
some of the nights and early AM's have been so chilly and there has been fog on the bay - it always looks so haunting and pretty
Fall decorating has begun around here 😊 🍁
it was a ham & scalloped potatoes comfort food kind of weekend (the recipe is under my recipe tab - easy in the slow cooker & so yummy!)
even though Fall is in the air - my dahlias decided to be late bloomers and give it one more go
my Taste of Home box came over the weekend (a subscription I get every 3 months) and it was filled with wonderful Fall baking goodies! So many things that will get a lot of use! And a bag of mini stroop wafels. They are delicious wafer cookies with caramel in the middle. The normal sized ones fit on top of a mug and the heat from your drink gets the caramel warm and softened. 😋
PRAYER LIST:
Praying for peace, unity and healing for our world and our earth. For a complete end to the virus. For relatives healing from procedures. For special people traveling. For other personal intentions 🙏
