Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Monday Friends!

Happy May to you!
I hope this post finds you healthy, well rested and starting out this week with a happy heart. 😊 Did you have a nice weekend?

It was a good one here. Aaron seems to feel back to normal and that's a relief. I got tested again, so had a 2nd negative test. And then scheduled to get vaccinated and got my first shot the other day...yay! I accomplished more things around the house and we had a gorgeous 85* day here saturday and Ruby and I spent a lot of time soaking it up! It was glorious! ☀️ Now we're back to crummy gray cool weather. But the summer "preview" was great. Lol I finally cleaned my grill out well and did some grilling and yard work. Looking forward to flower planting season straight ahead. πŸŒΈπŸ’•

I had some phone calls and emails from relatives about gatherings planned in July. One on my Dad's side of the family one weekend and another from my Mom's side of the family another weekend. Many of my relatives are already fully vaccinated. And I will be. And if pfizer lowers the age soon both of my kids will be too. I think it will be wonderful to spend this summer in less worry and more fun and that I'll get to see my people again!! I miss my loved ones so much.

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING

toast with natural pb, honey and banana slices, coffee

HOW I AM FEELING THIS MORNING:

Feeling productive...taking care of calls, emails and housework. Going to do my workout soon and work on some behind the scenes hospice things.

ON MY MIND:

That I found myself in an interesting situation for this week. The former Scott, that I was dating before, happens to be in town a certain day this week and wanted to just connect and have a meal together to catch up. We have remained friends and I feel like I owe him a final visit because when I ended things I told him if he were in the area I would treat him to lunch. He doesn't know about new Scott yet. I talked to my "new" Scott (current one I'm dating) about it and explained I wanted to tell former Scott to his face that I have someone new in my life. And to make it clear to him now that I won't be meeting with him anymore. My Scott was so open discussing it and shared he'd be a little jealous, but that he trusts me and understands and was ok with it. It is so wonderful having such a kind, emotionally mature and present man in my life. I sure just kinda like him so very much.  😊❤️

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE

It's so gray out and I miss the sunshine from the weekend. Things are tidy and I finally brought in the bin with summer things and going to do some different decorating around here.

FROM THE CAMERA:

Did more visiting of my furry nieces last week when my bro and sil needed me to let them out at lunchtime. 😍

the lovely weather brought fishing boats and kayakers into the bay

It's so wonderful here in the north to see buds on trees, green growth (like my bleeding heart shrubs coming up), flowers (daffodils), and finally be back to grilling! πŸ˜‹

I'm on the international registry now for EOL doulas! Yay! I made a new professional email for myself (the full listing has that and my phone number etc). Eventually I'll make a website and have that address on the listing too.  I'm going to take a business course and I need to work on certification which will take a while, as it involves working on direct cases. But it just feels so good to finally see the path ahead of me and where I believe the Lord is leading me and have it all feel exciting and just so right. πŸ™

PRAYER LIST:

I pray for an end to this virus. For peace, healing and unity in our world.  I pray for anyone sick, suffering, isolated, and afraid - for their peace and comfort. Please Lord give strength to those fighting the virus on the frontlines.  πŸ™ And may the vaccines continue to help the numbers go down and life become more normal.  For a friend dealing with med changes and other issues. For my former FIL dealing with worsening health issues.

Happy Homemaker Monday

Howdy Friends ~

Happy Monday to you! I'm a little late working on this today...and keep getting sidetracked. But determined to post it today at some point. Lol I hope your week has started out beautifully. It's a cold rainy and gray one here today. Yuck!

Plus, dealing with other yucky things here. Aaron was diagnosed with covid last week. Ironically the day before we were supposed to get the vaccine! Geesh, how's that for timing? So we had to cancel that. We've obviously been on quarantine here. Aaron confined to only his bedroom and bathroom. Annie and I have both been tested and we were negative. We have both felt fine.  She is distance learning right now for school anyways, so that has worked out. Aaron is doing well now...but still has a cough. He never lost smell or taste, but had fevers, body aches, belly stuff and had been tired.  I'm actually going to do another test soon because I'm planning to get my vaccine in the very near future now that more appointments have finally been opening up in my area. It will be so nice to get rid of this darn thing, won't it?? So obviously we were homebodys this weekend. Aaron and I both wear doubled up masks when I need to interact with him (bring him food and things). I spent the weekend doing more cleaning and lysoling everything! Lol πŸ˜† I hope you had a much more fun and exciting weekend.

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING

leftover dinner roll with a little butter & cheese, coffee

HOW I AM FEELING THIS MORNING:

Tired and low energy because that's what this weather does to me. Keeping busy with things around the house and working out helps, though.

ON MY MIND:

Wanting the world to get vaccinated so we can get rid of this darn virus! Other thoughts on my mind today are about finishing some final school things and that there's an optional business course. I think I may take it, especially since I think I may pursue private practice.

Thinking about my sweet guy who now likes calling me "girlfriend" and that he wants the all clear from the covid stuff so he can come visit again soon. 😍

Dreaming on Spring and fun things like nice weather, golfing, and planting flowers. Can't wait! 🏌️‍♀️  ⛳️

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE

It feels clean and I'm looking at the ingredients I pulled out on the counter to make some banana muffins with the old bananas I need to use up. Will get on that as soon as I finally finish this post.

THURSDAY - pierogis, garden salad

FRIDAY - maybe pizza or order in something else?

TO RELAX THIS WEEK I WILL:

catch up on spring magazines, plan out flower pots a bit, zoom with gf's, go through my old jewelry and organize and get rid of some

FROM THE CAMERA:

had one nicer night on the weekend and went out and got some pretty pics of the bay - in the one with the dock you can see ducks swimming away from Ruby and I

I may have ordered myself and beautiful hummingbird watch (Olivia Burton of London has gorgeous nature ones!) as an early happy graduation & happy mothers day, happy surviving 2020,  love myself gift πŸ˜‰

The bunnies have been back so Ruby has been back to her favorite evening "program" almost daily. πŸ˜†

My latest favorite healthier treat/snack is taking a caramel rice cake, topping with a little peanut butter & honey. It tastes like cracker jack! yummy

Okay Ladies, I need to know. Is it normal for hair to become naturally wavy/curly in older age? I find if I let my hair air dry and don't really do anything with it that it dries all kind of beach wavy. It used to be straight! Is it old age hormones?? Lol πŸ‘΅

Happy Homemaker Monday

Hello & Happy Monday ~

It's been a chilly windy one in the northwoods this morning. It seems like the sun is trying to come out though. How was your weekend friends? It was kind of a special one here. I met up with my friend Scott. He drove 4 hours from where he lives to stay (in a hotel) for the weekend. We had a great time! I showed him around. He's a big golfer like I am and I showed him our local courses and we made plans to enjoy that in the future. We, fortunately, had beautiful weather so we walked around a pretty area not far from where I live. We did tons of talking. Ate great food. Watched a movie. All and all a successful first "in person" connection. We've already been making plans for next time. πŸ˜ŠπŸ’• Thank you so much for all of the prayers and good wishes. Just taking everything one day at a time because I'm still healing in many ways, but I sure enjoy the time we spend - even if it's just talking on the phone for hours.

I also spent some of the weekend accomplishing things around here and working on some of my homework for school. That continues to go very well and I'm loving it! Now onto this week ahead...

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING

everything bagel thin with whipped cream cheese, coffee

HOW I AM FEELING THIS MORNING:

Wishing it would warm up. It was so nice this weekend and just made me want Spring even more! The greenhouse near me opens May 1st - yay! I'm just hoping the weather will get mild enough so i can plant flowers soon. I can't wait to dig in the dirt! 🌸 Annie is on Spring break this week and I'm happy I get bonus time with my girlie. Thinking about some things we could do

ON MY MIND:

The last of the schooling I have for this initial certificate. I will be done with that part by May. I'm not sure what the advanced studies will involve yet - I need this certificate to apply. But thinking about if I would maybe take a break for the summer...and then pursue the rest of my certification in the Fall?

Also, I'm excited because I finally get my first vaccine dose this week! Aaron and I both going together and I have our appointments all scheduled. πŸ‘

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE

It feels cozy and tidy. I can hear the dryer tumbling and I'm listening to some Mumford and Sons right now. Ruby is snuggling by me.

These are my furry nieces I was able to visit last week (& my SIL of course, Lol). I get to let them out at lunch time one day this week and visit them some more, yay!! Aren't they so darned cute??

The things us gals go through in the name of beauty, huh? πŸ˜‚ Spring/summer ahead = up the blonde ☀️

I know a few of you were wondering what "this" Scott looks like, so thought I'd oblige a few pics including one of us when we were facetiming πŸ‘€ He's 6'2" (I'm 5'3" - it's funny) with brown eyes and hair. It's funny I have all these pics of him with a hat - he didn't wear one during our time this weekend.

It was so nice and warmer here this past weekend...even put Spring bedding on my bed. My lilies have begun sprouting too!! 😊 The nice weather is supposed to come back later in the week. I sure hope so!
