Happy Homemaker Monday

Hello Dear Friends ~

Sorry I'm doing HHM the Tuesday edition. Yesterday my kiddos didn't have school for MLK day and Annie and I had her ortho appt (she got her braces off!) - and then we ran errands and had fun shopping. Then she had hockey last night. But I thought I'd still pop in to keep my week organized and say hello...

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

Today was a bit overcast and we had some snow (got a few inches overnight) and 20's to 30's. But going to get colder as the week goes on to single digits again

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING

toast and coffee

RIGHT NOW I AM:

watching the news

AS I LOOK OUTSIDE MY WINDOW

lots of snow everywhere - see photos below

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE

Looking cozy and warm - my big fuzzy blanket is on my lap ;)

ON THIS WEEK'S TO DO LIST:

had Annie's appt (yay no more braces!), helped Mom today and pop in every day still, errands, Annie's hockey practices and a game this week, food for FIL, hospice volunteering, more January clean out and organizing, daily workouts

THURSDAY: hockey game - easy night

FRIDAY: maybe out to dinner?

WHAT I AM CREATING AT THE MOMENT

lots of project catch up now that life is slowly getting back to normal

NEW RECIPE I WANT TO TRY THIS WEEK:

Nothing new this week, but I will share the one pot veggie pasta I made last week as it was really yummy!

TIP OF THE WEEK:

FROM THE CAMERA:

photo from this morning - new snow

Before and after photos of my girl yesterday getting braces off ;) Say cheese!

We watched our girl play hockey over this weekend. I love this pic I caught of just her lining up agains the big bad other team. Lol

And then we had comfort food because I made chili, cornbread with honey butter glaze, and mississippi mud brownies that I hadn't made the previous weekend.  Nice and cozy and watched some football

If you're on instagram have you found the "golden hour" filter? It's wonderful for taking selfies that make you feel good about yourself.  Lol xo

  1. You sound busy over there. Hooray for no more braces! I was thinking summer thoughts yesterday as well, totally scrapped my dinner plan and made lemon chicken instead. Needed the citrus to brighten up all our cloudy days. Wonderful photos. Hope you have a wonderful week and stay warm.

  2. Sound the trumpets! Wow for Annie - no more braces.

Those summer thoughts must be contagious. I'm making cream of watercress soup today. Will eat it warm rather than cold, however. So happy things are settling down up in the North Woods. Cold here, too, with blustery winds, but happily no snow.

Beautiful photo of you, Dear One.

  3. Hooray for Annie - so nice to have those braces off. You look good, filter or no filter!
    That menu sounds good too.
It's been snowing like crazy here. Schools were closed yesterday because it was so cold, today for snow and ice.
