Happy Homemaker Monday

Hi Friends!

Mondays have just been my busy days for some reason. Lol So I was gone since this AM and I'm finally sitting down to do this post quickly before I get to work on dinner. I hope you had a lovely weekend and are having a great start to your week. 😊

This past weekend we spent about an hour or so out of town at a cabin that my Dad and step Mom have been staying at for the month of June. We did belated Father's Day with my Dad and my Brother and SIL came too. We did pontoon rides, kids swam, played lots of indoor and outdoor games, ate fun foods and had a ball. Now on to a busy week ahead...

WHAT I AM CREATING AT THE MOMENT

hopefully a fun announcement to make about this next month - stay tuned! I will also share some peeks of the album I made for my cousin's wedding last weekend. I'm planning to do a post tomorrow sharing my fairy flower pots around my yard 🧚‍♀️ 💜

NEW RECIPE I WANT TO TRY THIS WEEK:

I made a delicious strawberry rhubarb crisp for this last weekend and I will share that this week 😋

TIP OF THE WEEK:

FROM THE CAMERA

The cabin we stayed in had such cute bedrooms. I stayed in a room myself and kiddos had bunk room

Got to finally do belated Father's Day with my PapaBear and give him his gifts ❤️

The cabin had a nice big porch with lots of seating and my step-Mom's relatives lived in the house across the street on the lake side

They invited us over to their place for a pontoon ride -so we brought over lots of goodies and rode all around their beautiful lake, looking at different homes and cabins, visiting and munching

The next day they put up a volleyball net and we played that and ladder ball, bocce ball, and corn hole 😊

My Bro and SIL brought their fishing poles and fished off of their dock and caught a couple little bass. Annie supervised 😉

  1. Finally catching up with you and Lorraine (way behind on her posts because she's so prolific). Are you two related? She accomplishes so much in just a short time - just like you.

Loved the wedding photos from last week and the cabin photos from this week. My Carry-on Carrie is still carrying on I see.

How are Ollie and Max getting along? Does Ruby approve of them? I assume Ollie was named because olives are green and was Max named after The Blue Max, which is movie produced before you were born? And how does Ruby like having two little guys competing for Annie's attention? Bet she's becoming strictly a Mommy Carrie's girl.

I'm already planning my next lunch - maybe a salad buffet. I went to one at a presentation at the Clinton Museum and it was really fun. I think there were at least 50 salads. I bought the cookbook and all the salads were from the book. Don't believe I'll do 50 - maybe 8 or 10. Have already chosen the fun dishes. Will hate to pass them on, but determined to declutter.

Looking forward to your big crafting reveal. Also a peek at your fairy gardens. I put a fairy teapot house in the box I'm collecting for you, but it might be too big. We'll see.

Must go feed my kitties. Loved your post today, and also last week's.
So nice to see you're having some decent weather finally. We're either sweltering or getting drenched. Not much in between.

  3. That cabin is just so cute! Looks like y'all had a wonderful time. Your mention of seared salmon reminded me I have some in my freezer that needs to be cooked, I'll have to do something with that this week.

Hope you have a wonderful week.

  4. Your weather is looking downright PERFECT girl! And I could live in that cabin - what a relaxing spot and beautiful surroundings. I LOVE your inspiration too! Looking forward to your FUN announcement. As much fun as you had at the wedding based on last week's photos you should have a GREAT album for your cousin. Have a FANTASTIC week my friend.

  5. Hi Carrie, I am catching up and need to look at the wedding photos after this! Your cabin weekend looks so fun - what a great place to stay. Such cute bedrooms xx Still can't believe your son is graduating, and what a nice menu for his party. I think small gatherings are so nice - you get real one on one time with everyone. Looking forward to the strawberry-rhubarb crisp recipe. My daughter has a rhubarb plant and wants to give some away :) Sounds like you are having a busy summer so far, but already making sweet memories. Thank you for your sweet words on my last post, dear friend. Hugs xo Karen

  9. What a lovely lake-side break Carrie. The cabin is really cute, and I like the way you can cruise around on the lake. We enjoyed the experience a few years ago with our daughter in Canada, something different from Australia. Interesting about the mashed potato!
