Hello Friends & Happy February!
A new month in this new year that I keep praying treats us so much better than last year. How was your weekend? It was about a typical one here. I've been working on lots of catch up projects in my craft kind of world. My Mom came over for a meal and cards again and we were talking all things her new apartment and upcoming wedding. Annie had a friend stay over for the first time in 3 months. It was a boost they both really needed. We went out walking on the frozen bay with Ruby and it was a lot of fun and great exercise.
THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:
ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING
blueberry activia yogurt, coffee with almond joy creamer
HOW I AM FEELING THIS MORNING:
Good. Just done with my workout and stretch, shower. Ready to tackle the day and my long to-do list!
ON MY MIND:
Things ahead this week. Hair appts for Annie and myself. Errands to run. Need an oil change. Things to help with my Mom's upcoming move. Furniture folks coming to fix a part broken on my new couch. Just lots of little things going on this week
AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE
it's a gray day today but it looks cozy and around my home. And nice to see some Valentine's decorations out I finally got to doing this weekend.
CURRENTLY READING
I actually started reading an old Susan Branch book I've read before but for some reason I was in the mood to read again. 📚
ON THE TV TODAY:
HGTV shows, kids baking shows, Escape to the Chateau on HGTV, the Resident, The Chase, Miss Scarlet and the Duke
ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:
MONDAY - salad bar night, clean veggies out of fridge
TUESDAY - veggie spaghetti I didn't make last week, bubble bread
WEDNESDAY - steak with fig sauce, almond green beans, roasted potatoes (HF meal)
THURSDAY - lemon spinach ricotta ravioli with roasted red peppers & parm
FRIDAY - BBQ ribs, loaded potato wedges, buffalo onion straws with blue cheese sauce (game day box from HF meal) - might save this to make on Sunday for Super Bowl
TO RELAX THIS WEEK I WILL:
work on cookbook for my Mom, read, bubble bath, walk on bay with Ruby
FROM THE CAMERA:
I've been working on cards to donate to the hospice house per their request
My pretty girl had a couple busy days last week. One day was going in to vet to get put under anesthesia so they could clean her teeth, take out a broken tooth and check a lump (that was thankfully just a fatty tumor) And another day was with the groomer to get all pretty. My little valentine ♥️
Ruby loved running down on the bay and being off of her leash. It's always weird viewing my house from this angle when I'm not in the pontoon. I'm usually floating out here. Lol
My Mom is so funny. She has been single now for over 8 years and she said that her cooking is rusty because she mainly eats meals I bring or she eats over here with us. Or she just does easy things for one. So she asked that one of her wedding gifts be a little cookbook with some easy yummy recipes that she loves that I make. Lol So this is a scrapbook one I had made and I'm now working to fill it in with recipes she wants.
Working on bits of Annie's baby book I never completed. I had made her baby scrapbook (I made one for both kiddos). But I also have a baby book - the kind you fill in - for each of them. I finished Aaron's when he was little. But Annie's I kind of forgot about the bits I didn't finish. I thankfully thought to put info on slips and stick them in at random times. So I'm reading up on those and actually writing the info in her book, as well as adding more old photos. It's fun going down memory lane. It's so funny to see how I used to do my hair so dark in the fall/winter and then get blonder in the summer. Now I just stay blonde and have more fun. 😉
My sweethearts (& my life) 💕
Some valentine decorations I had made in the past - including the canvas with Notre Dame and a vintage flower pin.
It's still winter here all through February, so I still have kind of wintery things out along with the heart kinds of decorations.
PRAYER LIST:
I pray for an end to this virus. For peace, healing and unity in our world. I pray for anyone sick, suffering, isolated, and afraid - for their peace and comfort. Please Lord give strength to those fighting the virus on the frontlines. 🙏 I hope this vaccine will be safe and effective and the beginning of the end for this virus for good.
