Hello and happy new week to you! ☀️
I hope your week has been starting out with sunshine and smiles already Friends. I had a nice morning hanging with Annie and then we went out for a late lunch and I brought her to hang with some friends of hers. So I'm finally sitting down to work on this and check in with you lovely folks. Did you have a nice weekend? I worked on things around the house. Starting to put back my kitchen as they finished most of the cabinet work. They're coming back a day this week to finish with that part. I will hopefully have some of the new appliances in a few weeks. And the granite is ordered but won't be in until August (& the rest of the appliances at that time too). So it will continue to be a work in progress to a degree, but it's functional and I'm so grateful. It's turning out so pretty. I changed from the painted cabinetry to wood that matches other cabinet areas in my home, as well as all the doors in my house are that same wood and stain as well. I share more in the pics below.
This past weekend Aaron and his gf (Helaina) also came over for dinner one night to hang with Annie and I....and we played some board games. We always do a lot of laughing and have fun. Fills my Mama heart ♥️
THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:
ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING

ON MY TO DO LIST:
Annie's second dose of vaccine, lunch with my Mom, working on reunion things (including a scrapbook), errands, more kitchen work, some final flowers to plant, housework
AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE
it's been hot and so keeping a lot more shades closed to keep it cooler, have the a/c going
CURRENTLY READING
jumping between the past few books I mentioned that I haven't finished yet and reading some summer magazines
ON THE TV TODAY:
The Bachelorette, The Good Doctor, New Amesterdam, LPBW, America's Got Talent, HGTV Shows, Schitts Creek on netflix, and going to start The Handmaids Tale on Hulu
**I finished Mare of Easttown on HBO with Kate Winslet. I highly recommend it!! It was PHENOMENAL! She plays a sheriff and it's kind of a whodunnit with a great twist. But a lot about family and grief too. If she doesn't win some kind of award I will be so angry. She is absolutely brilliant in it!
ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:
MONDAY - eat light.... maybe smoothie bowls?
TUESDAY - crepes with lemon and berries (didn't make last week)
WEDNESDAY - alfredo pasta with broccoli
THURSDAY - crepes with lemon and berries
FRIDAY - ??
TO RELAX THIS WEEK I WILL:
lunch and shopping with Mom and Annie, read, work on scrapbook, might book a massage soon?
TIPS OR SOMETHING TO SHARE:
FROM THE CAMERA:
So as you can see the difference between what was on the left with the painted wood on my old fridge, which is still in. I'm getting a stainless steel one soon. I'm going to be getting light granite (see pics right below) - that has streaks of my wall color and the cabinet color in it:
Annie and I both love the new light fixture we had picked out. And I had made that arrangement a long time ago and had it in storage and threw it up on the counter for now, but have a different plan for accents on the counters when kitchen is done. I've ordered new canisters and some cream pottery things - going to change it up a bit. I look forward to showing you a full tour once it's all completely done by the end of the summer.
I love all the details the carpenter included and think he did a lovely job.
PRAYER LIST:
I pray for an end to this virus. For peace, healing and unity in our world. I pray for anyone sick, suffering, isolated, and afraid - for their peace and comfort. Please Lord give strength to those fighting the virus on the frontlines. 🙏 And may the vaccines continue to help the numbers go down and life become more normal. For peace and healing in my heart with someone I care about and yet I struggle with them. For friends I know struggling with health issues.
