Happy Homemaker Monday

Hi Friends!

Mondays have just been my busy days for some reason. Lol So I was gone since this AM and I'm finally sitting down to do this post quickly before I get to work on dinner. I hope you had a lovely weekend and are having a great start to your week. 😊 

This past weekend we spent about an hour or so out of town at a cabin that my Dad and step Mom have been staying at for the month of June. We did belated Father's Day with my Dad and my Brother and SIL came too. We did pontoon rides, kids swam, played lots of indoor and outdoor games, ate fun foods and had a ball. Now on to a busy week ahead...

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING

yogurt, watermelon, vanilla iced coffee

RIGHT NOW I AM:

watching the evening news, doing my calendar while working on this

AS I LOOK OUTSIDE MY WINDOW

Overcast all day - rained this AM but not this afternoon

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE

Pretty tidy since my son had been working nearly full time this summer and Annie and I were gone all day. I need to load a few dishes. 

ON THIS WEEK'S TO DO LIST:

Annie's volleyball and hockey camp practices, groceries, errands, Annie helping my Mom for her summer job, my hospice volunteering, cleaning and getting ready for Aaron's little grad party this weekend (he didn't want a party but I talked him into agreeing to a small gathering at our house with more immediate family, some family friends and some of his friends)

ON THE TV TODAY:

The Spanish Princess, Bachelorette,  America's Got Talent, Best Baker in America, Big Brother, Amazing Race, HGTV shows, cooking shows 

 

ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:

MONDAY:  clean out the fridge

TUESDAY: tacos

WEDNESDAY: seared salmon with spicy sesame sauce, rice & bok choy (BA meal)

THURSDAY: Seared pork chops with BBQ sauce, mashed sweet potatoes & sauteed zucchini (BA meal)

FRIDAY: pick up a pizza  🍕  

**For Aaron's grad gathering planning on serving: slow cooker shredded BBQ chicken sandwiches, build your own subs, a big pasta salad, fruit plate, veggie tray, chips, lemon water, raspberry lemonade, iced tea, sodas, cupcakes, rice krispie bars, various cookies

WHAT I AM CREATING AT THE MOMENT

hopefully a fun announcement to make about this next month - stay tuned! I will also share some peeks of the album I made for my cousin's wedding last weekend. I'm planning to do a post tomorrow sharing my fairy flower pots around my yard 🧚‍♀️ 💜 

NEW RECIPE I WANT TO TRY THIS WEEK:

I made a delicious strawberry rhubarb crisp for this last weekend and I will share that this week 😋

The cabin we stayed in had such cute bedrooms. I stayed in a room myself and kiddos had bunk room

Got to finally do belated Father's Day with my PapaBear and give him his gifts ❤️ 

The cabin had a nice big porch with lots of seating and my step-Mom's relatives lived in the house across the street on the lake side

They invited us over to their place for a pontoon ride -so we brought over lots of goodies and rode all around their beautiful lake, looking at different homes and cabins, visiting and munching 

The next day they put up a volleyball net and we played that and ladder ball, bocce ball, and corn hole 😊 

My Bro and SIL brought their fishing poles and fished off of their dock and caught a couple little bass. Annie supervised 😉

Happy Homemaker Monday

Hello and Happy Monday Friends!

Sorry I'm getting to this post so late today. I was busy around here this morning and then went running around right away with my daughter, her friend and my Mom. We went to lunch and some errands and then had a big reason for running which I will share in later in this post. 

It was a busy and wonderful weekend here. We traveled to the Cities for my cousin's wedding. It was extra special because my cousin had never been married before and she's older than I am. They are such a happy couple and I'm thrilled for them! Plus, it was a fun time to catch up with relatives too (my Mom's side of the family) We also went to my bestie's daughter's graduation party late last week. They are like family they're such close friends and my son even thought they were his aunt and uncle and cousins when he was younger. Lol Then last night my FIL and Ad were over to celebrate Father's Day with some pizza and goodies. So it's been busy days here. 

I hope you had a great weekend too and that your week has been starting right! 

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING

a caramel roll we picked up on our way home from the trip 

If you've ever been a little north of the Twin Cities - in Hinkley MN you have to stop at Tobies and get caramel rolls, donuts, homemade bread etc SO Good! I also grabbed some  cardamom bread and jalapeno cheddar english muffins

RIGHT NOW I AM:

Listening to Annie and her friend in her room laughing about something and listening to music 

AS I LOOK OUTSIDE MY WINDOW

It was overcast and cloudy all day - and sprinkled a little bit. But now tonight the sun has been peeking out here and there

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE

Well here is something new around the house and the big reason we went running around today:

Annie picked out her parakeets

And we brought them home and let them take their time getting out of their boxes and getting used to their new home

So meet Ollie (green) and Max (blue) They seem to be getting to know each other pretty well now😉 

ON THIS WEEK'S TO DO LIST:

Groceries, Annie follow up ortho appt, Annie hockey and volleyball camp practices, hospice volunteer time, home projects, errands for things coming up this weekend

MONDAY:  jalapeno cheddar english muffin turkey sandwiches, chips, veg & dip

TUESDAY: cardamom french toast, bacon, fruit

WEDNESDAY: crispy zucchini & radish bao sandwiches, cucumber-tomato salad (BA meal)

THURSDAY: kung pao chicken with snow peas & sweet peppers

FRIDAY: out for dinner
