Happy Monday!
It's a COLD one here today. It was -14* when I got up this AM. I'm getting to this late as I had 2 appointments today. But finally home now and can work on finishing this post. I hope you had a great weekend! It was pretty much things as usual around here. We often hang out with the C's to do date nights together. But Mr. C was out-of-town with their daughter for sports - and my gf had to work Friday so she stayed home. We took advantage of that and got together for a fun catch up girlie lunch Saturday. We are planning a fun super bowl party night with the C's in just a few weeks! And yesterday Matt and & I ran our usual errands and did some cleaning at his house and mine. We later chilled and watched football .... how's about those Chiefs, Jean?? 😉
My back continues to be a work in progress. Thank you so much for all of the kind words of support and prayers. I sure appreciate each and every one of you! I continue PT for several weeks. If I still have too much pain after that they will do the MRI - and we'll go from there. In the meantime I've also been doing a lot of strengthening things for my core etc. And in good news, I've been working out every single day and doing a food program and have been losing weight and plan to keep that up - which will help everything too. 💪
Enough of all that old lady talk. It's frustrating because I don't feel old and would be playing pickleball league with friends and doing other things like that if I didn't have this back issue. So working to be able to do all the sports I love and stay active. I know I'll get there and hopefully won't need any other interventions.
Now on to the week ahead...

THINKING ABOUT:
The annulment I'm working on. I decided I want to do one in my church for several personal reasons. A big one is that I feel I will have closure in a lot of ways. I never wanted a divorce, but I was left with no choice when my ex made the decisions he did. And that he continues to make them and it's clear now nothing is going to change. He told me recently he still thinks of me and misses me - but yet he won't change the things in his life he needs to in order that we could have a positive healthy relationship.
I accept what is and I will file this annulment and move forward at peace with how my life will be without him in it. And I'm so grateful to have the most wonderful, kind, understanding sweet man in my life. We're on such a fun path and I can't wait to keep seeing where it takes us. And that's the other reason for the annulment. I need it if I would want to be married in the church again one day. 😉 💝

TIPS OR SOMETHING TO SHARE:
FROM THE CAMERA:
It's so very sad. One of our neighborhood restaurants (a favorite sushi place of Annie's, Matt's & mine) burned down this AM. I feel so awful for the folks that owned and ran it. 😢 🙏
I made a yummy savory garlic & cheesy zucchini bread last week. 😋
I also made a really yummy cheesy cauliflower slow cooker soup. I will share the recipe later in the week.

There used to be a local cafe in my town that was here as long as I could remember. They had the best greek food (like gyros) and the best breakfast things especially known for their pancakes. Back in the early to mid 2000's the owners left the area and that was the end of our favorite cafe. Well, new owners somehow connected to the old ones - got the recipes and opened a new cafe. And Matt & I visited it this past weekend and it was wonderful! I had the walnut pancake, it was always a fave. My former MIL and I used to share them - you put syrup on them and they taste like a big cookie. 😋 And Matt got the gyros omelette and I got a taste and it was amazing. Matt had to help finish my pancakes. Lol Sunday brunch is the best, isn't it?
There's also nothing quite as wonderful as lazy Sundays with football and rest time. 💕
Enjoyed my coffee extra hot when I woke up today and it was so cold
On Matt's day off last week we had such a fun time - went somewhere else really fun to eat for lunch, and then did some shopping at some cute shops. I saw this sign and had to get it as it sums up exactly how Matt and I feel. I'll either use it at home - or take it to the cabin on Ten Mile lake.
