Hello Friends! Happy Monday and hope it's been a good one so far. ;)
I also hope you had wonderful weekend. Ours was filled with lots of hockey as Annie had a local hockey tourney. So lots of playing for Annie, watching for me, and coaching for Ad. Their team may not have won, but they played well and seemed to have a lot of fun! Also this weekend I posted about my blogaversary giveaway. If you didn't get a chance to enter yet, please read my previous post and comment so I can include you. I would love the chance to thank you for being a reader and a friend in this blogland space I love.
And last night Annie, my niece, and my Mom and I all went to see Paddington 2. It was just as cute, if not better, than the first one! Then Annie went to sleep over at her cousin's house as they didn't have school today for MLK Jr day. Now on to the week ahead....
THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:
Cloudy and gray all day today. Even snowed a little earlier. It's only 12 above today and we may get some more snow tonight too. It'll be cold again tomorrow, but by Wednesday should be warming up into the 20's and 30's the rest of the week. Is it Spring yet? Should I not be asking that in January - especially when I live in the frozen tundra that is northern WI? ::sigh::
ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:
1/2 of a bagel with low cal spread and coffee
RIGHT NOW I AM:
Listening to music on Pandora and working on my weekly planner. I had a restful morning reading, then working out and doing chores around the house. Had a nice chat with my son during lunch - and his girlfriend came over to hang out too. I also had a nice long phone conversation with my Mom. I love that we're so close and she is my rock in so many ways. Love her! So I'm finally getting to some computer time this afternoon to work on this post.
AS I LOOK OUTSIDE MY WINDOW:
It's still kind of cloudy and everything is covered in a brand new blanket of white, between the snow we received last night and little more this AM.
AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE:
It's pretty tidy from doing some of my daily chores around here this AM. It's also less bare than it had been, as I've put out some of my valentine's decorations and filled in the bare spots with other knick knacks I've had stored away. Much cozier now ;)
And it smells so good right now as I also just baked up a pan of brownies! I know it's the new year and I've been jumping back into being good (even my "fast days" one day a week) - but life is all about balance, right?
ON TODAY'S (& this week's) TO DO LIST:
A pretty typical week. Both kiddos' hockey practices and games. Religious ed. Groceries, errands. Visiting my MIL for her birthday this week. Bring dinner to my FIL. I also am waiting to hear back from my hospice coordinator as I will be shadowing a current volunteer either this week or next as a start to my journey as a regular hospice volunteer. They require you shadow a current volunteer 3 times before you begin on your own. Also, I'm back to scheduling wallyball with my group of gal friends so we will hopefully get back to playing next week!
CURRENTLY READING:
Just starting Caroline, Little House revisited - a book I received as a Christmas gift from my Aunt. She knows how much I always loved Little House on the Prairie (show and books). It's by Sarah Miller and it's historical fiction about the little house days from the perspective of Caroline - or Laura Ingalls' "Ma" (still reading this)
ON THE TV TODAY:
The Good Doctor, This is Us, Will and Grace, Amazing Race, Kids Baking Championship, Gold Rush - some movies taped again too.
ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:
MONDAY: clean out leftovers in the fridge
TUESDAY: chicken wild rice soup, use up deli meat in fridge by making biscuit sandwiches on the side, fruit
WEDNESDAY: Make your own baked potato bar with fixings: steamed broccoli & cheese sauce, sour cream, bacon bits, shredded cheese & BBQ shredded chicken. Side salad
THURSDAY: might make homemade chicken pot pie if time permits. If not I'll make it next week and will make breakfast for dinner instead
FRIDAY: easy night - Annie hockey game
WHAT I AM CREATING AT THE MOMENT
Finally getting somewhere with Legacy box project. Still need to finish a bit in my Grandpa's scrapbook. Also, finally pulling out my old family scrapbooks to catch up on and working on some projects I had left off months again. Getting my mojo back. Not to mention tackling my yearly clean out of my craft space/office and organizing it better. Yay 2018! (still working on all of these - but legacy box almost done)
NEW RECIPE I WANT TO TRY THIS WEEK:
I have made PW's chicken pot pie before (really good!) but if I make it this week it will be a new recipe I want to try
TIP OF THE WEEK:

I have actually done this before and I believe it did help keep the food warm ;)
