Happy Homemaker Monday

Hello Friends ~

It's another Monday in the northwoods and I'm sorry life got crazy last week and I didn't get time to check in at blogland. I did end up having jury duty and my whole week just got crazy.  I plan to get caught up this week and visit you wonderful Friends. And I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful words of encouragement and support, on my last post, about my future Etsy store. I will keep you posted and hope to have news for you by next month sometime and a store in place by June! Today I am home nursing up my poor sick Girl. We've had such lovely weather but somehow she still managed to catch a cold.

I hope you had a great weekend. We had such amazing sunshine and temps here and it was wonderful!! We got out our deck furniture and I got lots of good walking in with Ruby. We also enjoyed a day in the sunshine on Saturday watching our Girl play in 3 soccer scrimmages in a row!! (before her cold really kicked in)  It was such beautiful weather, though, that we just set up a little picnic in the bleachers and enjoyed.  Now on to the week ahead....

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

Beautiful again today! Sunny and in the upper 60's. Looks like 50's to 60 part of this week and then a little cooler by the end of the week and a chance of rain

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:

greek yogurt and amaretto coffee

RIGHT NOW I AM:

Had some lunch with my poor sick Girl. She's resting in her room and I have the door open to the deck listening to the birds sing away as I type this. Working on my planner for the week.

AS I LOOK OUTSIDE MY WINDOW

The sun is shining away through the open door and Ruby is laying out on the deck right now. We put the wind chimes back up when we put out the deck furniture out and I can hear it tinkling in the breeze. Glorious day! The ice on the bay is starting to break up and it shouldn't be long until we have open water again. ;)

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE:

Another load of laundry ready to get throw in and a few dishes to do. Pretty clean overall and so sunny and bright right now. I finally put away the last of the Easter stuff this weekend... so no more eggs and bunnies everywhere.

ON THIS WEEK'S TO DO LIST:

Potential of more jury duty but not until later in the week, hospice volunteer time, errands, FIL meal and visit MIL, Annie's soccer practices, wallyball, get started cleaning and organizing my craft/office space

CURRENTLY READING:

I'm planning to read Whispering in French by Sophia Nash next, but haven't started it yet (still didn't start this one yet)

ON THE TV TODAY:

Timeless, The Spring Baking Championship,  American Idol, Greys Anatomy, Gold Rush, Survivor, Billions, Call the Midwife, Howards End

ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:

MONDAY: flatbread pizza's, veggies, cantaloupe

TUESDAY: tacos

WEDNESDAY: leftovers

THURSDAY: penne pasta, salad, cheesy garlic bread

FRIDAY: out for dinner

**might bake blondie brownies and serve with ice cream with caramel sauce over all

WHAT I AM CREATING AT THE MOMENT

Last of my Grandpa's scrapbook, spring clean/organize projects around here, jewelry project

NEW RECIPE I WANT TO TRY THIS WEEK:

nothing really new planned this week

TIP OF THE WEEK:

Hhmm???

FROM THE CAMERA:
You can see the bay is starting to break up and there are several open water spots now. It was so nice to get the deck furniture out - a true sign of Spring to me!

Annie's scrimmages this weekend - she is number 1 in black (with the white headband in her hair)

And I almost forgot to mention our sweet Boy and his girlfriend had a fun weekend too. They decided they didn't want to go to prom this year (the actual dance) but plan to go for their senior one next year. They did get a little dressed up(& took some pics) and went out to dinner with their group of friends and then went to a prom after party. Aren't they adorable? ; )

PRAYER, INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE OR DEVOTIONAL:

    The northwoods sound amazing!
Have you tried the salt in the laundry trick? I just might have to try that.

  3. I sure hope Annie is feeling better soon! Great picture of your son and his girlfriend too - what a GREAT idea to save the BIG dance as something to look forward to.

LMBO at the type in the life hack and I LOVE your inspiration! I look forward to seeing your ETSY store.

  5. What a lovely couple!!!!
And a smart choice, I think.
Sometimes kids go to so many proms, by the time they are seniors, it is boring.
Anyway, I hope your girl gets better quickly.
I am in awe of your beautiful view, my friend.
Going to watch The Spring Baking Championship right now!
    Have a cozy week. : )

  6. Hope your daughter is feeling better! It's a bummer being sick when the weather is nice outside. Great picture of your son and his girlfriend. I'm just now putting the rest of our Easter stuff away. Let me know if you try the salt in the laundry, not sure about that one. Hope you have a great week!

  7. Hope your sweet girl feels better soon, Carrie. It's been a bad year for viruses everywhere. She looks so cute in her uniform and how cute is the young couple? Your son has grown up right before our eyes! So nice to have some warmer weather and open up the windows and doors, finally. Sounds like you have been one busy Mama. Hope things slow down for you soon. xx K

  8. Your son has grown up so much Carrie, and yes, they’re adorable :).

I trust by now your girl is better? Colds can sometimes hold on for weeks!

I’m wondering how things are going with Etsy. I’m sure it’s challenging and a bit scary, but also fun. I’m rooting for ya’!
