Happy Monday Friends ~
Sorry I'm late today. Annie didn't have school so spent some time with her and then had to run to my Mom's to help her with some things at their apartment. So it's late afternoon and I'm finally getting to this and will make it a quick one.
I hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving (those that celebrated). Ours was a lot of fun and so nice to feel more normal with my family over. I have some pics below. This weekend I worked on a lot of holiday around the house. Took down Fall, got about 1/2 to 3/4 of Christmas up, did some holiday shopping with my Mom on black Friday, and even started my Christmas cards! I also spend time regularly chatting with Matt. It makes my ♥️ smile.
Also, the Packers won and Vikes lost - always a good weekend when that happens. 🎉
I hope you're starting out your holiday season nice and cozy and not stressing yet. Lol I like to try to knock out as much as I'm able early so I can enjoy the peace, movies, family time, wrapping and baking later into the month. Are you an early decorator/shopper? Or always rush last minute?
ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:
granola cereal with a small bit of half and half (so yummy!) and coffee
ON MY TO DO LIST:
help mom this week, errands, finish with decorating, decorate outside, hospice work at facility and at home, Annie's hockey, holiday shopping with a friend, holiday concert
AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE
It's snowing out right now! I can hear Ruby barking at a dog across the bay - they just like to chat sometimes. 😉 I'll go outside with her later at night and listen to the stillness and can often hear the sounds of ice popping as it's forming. I love where I live and would hug this home on a hill on the bay if I could.
CURRENTLY READING
The Cafe Between Pumpkin and Pie It's 3 different stories by 3 different authors. I forgot I picked it up this fall. It's fun cozy reading
ON THE TV TODAY:
The Resident, Survivor, Christmas Cookie Challenge and other baking shows, the Masked Singer, the Rookie, holiday shows and taped some movies. Watching vlogs and I like Desi Darling right now - she is like a real life Anne of Green Gables. Lol
ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:
MONDAY - leftovers
TUESDAY - Annie hockey game so not sure?
WEDNESDAY - red lobster biscuits, tomato soup, fruit (Annie fave)
THURSDAY - Lobster stuffed ravioli in tomato cream sauce (HF meal)
FRIDAY - Thai ginger curry w/ creamy coconut veggies, lime rice (HF meal)
TO RELAX THIS WEEK I WILL:
once everything is all decorated I like to have only the Christmas lights on and sit with hot tea and music and soak it up, read, go shopping with a friend
TIPS OR SOMETHING TO SHARE:
FROM THE CAMERA:
Annie and SIL
I had found the cute Fall animal "crackers" and I put one on each plate at Thanksgiving. When you pull it apart it pops and a little toy, paper crown, and joke fall out. I froze my leftover homemade turkey stock to make soup in the future 😋
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas 🎄
PRAYER LIST:
Prayers for gratitude and thankfulness for so many blessings. For an end to the virus. For peace and unity everywhere. For health care workers, first responders and all those who work so hard to take care of others. For my former FIL. For a bestie healing from a broken ankle and foot. For my Mom's friend in an accident as she continues to heal. For anyone that has an extra difficult time during the holiday season
