Happy Homemaker Monday

Hello my lovely Friends and Happy Monday!

Today my kiddos didn't have school, so we've been having a fun day. That is why I'm getting to this blogging post late. My son's girlfriend came over and they, along with Annie and I, went out for lunch.  Then Annie and I did some shopping and running around with my Mom.

I hope you had a lovely weekend. We had some nice family time. I also finally started getting out a lot of my Fall decorations.  A new trampoline park opened in our area and my daughter enjoyed going there with some friends this weekend. And my Hubby and I chilled and watched football together most of yesterday.  One of those fun relaxing kind of days. ;)  Now on to the week ahead.

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

Today has been low 60's and overcast with rain on & off all day. Looks like more rain tomorrow and upper 50's for temps. Looks like rain ends after tomorrow and then low 60's the rest of the week. Getting pretty Fall like out there and I love it.

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:

1/2 of a poptart and coffee (don't judge) ;)

RIGHT NOW I AM:

Listening to my daughter talk with her friend that just came over. Her friend had school today, but was now home and Annie is excited to have her buddy over and show her some of the goodies she bought on our shopping excursion today.

AS I LOOK OUTSIDE MY WINDOW:

Gray and cloudy. Puddles in the driveway. Not raining now, but looks like it will start again any minute. I was just daydreaming out my office window as I sip the coffee I got at the coffee shop when we were out and about earlier.

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE:

With kiddos home a lot today - needs some tidying, but what can ya do? Lol I need to throw in another load of laundry too. It's so nice to see my Fall things up now! It's of course my favorite time of year and the colors of Fall decorations compliment my home the best.

ON TODAY'S (& this week's) TO DO LIST:

A lot of the usuals: errands, MIL time, groceries, workout time, help my Mom shampoo her carpets, no appointments this week though. Soon hockey will start heating up again and we'll have much busier nights. I'm enjoying the peace right now.

CURRENTLY READING:

I'm just starting a new series by Louise Penny! I'm on the first book - Still Life. So good so far! (update: still reading this one but almost done and ready for book 2!)

ON THE TV TODAY:

Outlander, Dancing with the Stars tonight, Bering Sea Gold, Cooking shows, and new shows start this week: Survivor, The Good Doctor (new one I want to check out), This is Us (love that show!!), Greys Anatomy

ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:

MONDAY: plain and blueberry pancakes, bacon/sausage, fruit

TUESDAY: not sure yet? maybe leftovers from the weekend

WEDNESDAY: slow cooker shredded bbq beef sandwiches, potato wedges, veggies

THURSDAY: leftover sandwiches, vegetable beef soup, salad

FRIDAY: homemade sweet & sour chicken, rice, egg rolls

WHAT I AM CREATING AT THE MOMENT

Etsy store albums and canvases

Legacy box stuff

My Grandpa's heritage album

My Mom's album & my family album catch up

NEW RECIPE I WANT TO TRY THIS WEEK:

Annie's BBQ chicken pasta bake she made last week was a hit - so I'll probably share that one this week. (update: I will actually share that one this week!!)

TIP OF THE WEEK:

I'm a wine drinker, so I love this tip!

FROM THE CAMERA:

The Fall glow has begun in our home

My son and his girlfriend playing with Annie today on the trampoline since they all didn't have school (kind of a version of dodgeball)

  1. It's much cooler there. It's so hot here that yesterday MI had the warmest temps in the states. Hard to believe!
Sounds like a busy week for you. Your menu sounds wonderful.
I like the pic of the kids on the tramp. Siblings hanging out together!

  3. Glad you were able to have such a fun day with your kids! Mine were off today as well. Unfortunately, I had to work but they had a fun lunch out with my husband. Love your fun autumn decorating touches. Hope it's a great week for you!

  4. LMBO at your don't judge comment. Fall morning sometime just call for a pop tart. :D

I'm loving your fall decorations - so glad it's moving in to your area - always love seeing your pictures.

It's nice to just have a fun day with the kids - the little bit of mess they make is all forgiven when you hear their laughter or see their smiles in my book.

LOVE your inspiration! Have a GREAT wee my friend.

  10. Your having some good days leading into fall. Yesterday around 2:00 pm the hot and humid weather just left us ... poof! Gone! It's been hovering around 30C for the last couple of weeks, and suddenly I'm cold and feeling a little self-conscious in capris with socks.
The trampoline park looks amazing! I thought being a park, it would have been outside. I'm looking forward to seeing the chicken recipe Annie prepared. We're needing a menu overhaul in my house.
    Enjoy the upcoming weekend Carrie!
