Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Monday Friends ☀️✨

It's going to be a sunny and hot one here today. And our dandelions are going crazy and hopefully the grass will get cut today. 😁

How was your weekend? We had such a fun one here!! Annie's bf Kristopher has been here visiting and we took them both up to the lake this weekend. We had such a great time playing games all together with Matt's folks. Annie has even said how they feel like step grandparents to her now. Boy does that make Matt's & my hearts want to burst!

We played games, took the kids into the adorable nearby town to shop and look around and went out to brunch there. We enjoyed sunshine out on the pontoon. And we took the kids out fishing on Matt's fishing boat. It was a Kris request. They caught a bunch of little pan fish and Kris even caught the biggest one which was a bass. Matt and his Dad showed Kris how to clean them too and let him do some (he had requested that too). And when we asked the kiddos about their favorite part of the weekend Kris said it was fishing for him. Matt felt like a proud step Dad about that - it was all pretty darn cute.

We got back home last night and we have some fun things planned this week before Kris heads back home. My Dad and step Mom just got back into town from AZ (they live there over half the year), so one night will include fun with them too.

Yay for almost true summertime and all the fun things ahead! 💛

TIPS OR SOMETHING TO SHARE:

FROM THE CAMERA:

We have some attached garages and we have a shed out back. There was so many old things in the shed from previous life and Matt and I had been meaning to get rid of quite a few things around here - especially since he moved in here officially a few years ago. We finally had a garbage company come with a big trailer and we donated some things and got rid of so many things. Now the shed is almost bare compared to how it was and Matt is excited to make it his own and has organized it so much already. :)

I have a crazy story about this momma deer. Remember when she was here with her fawn last week? Well this morning I let Ruby out as I do every morning and I didn't know momma was out on the hill and Ruby chased her into the woods. Then Ruby came back to do her business and I see the momma come back out of the woods and just stare at Ruby. I'm assuming at this point the baby is somewhere in the woods and momma is protecting the territory. So I go out on the deck to get Ruby to come into the house and the momma kind of runs and charges at Ruby! I finally get Ruby to come up to the door and when I open it Bubbba runs out! Which he doesn't normally do - I'm like what the heck is going on around here? And he runs down the deck onto the cement area in back. I get Ruby secure in the house and go back to get Bubba and momma deer had run all the way back and was now staring Bubba down. I think that freaked Bubba out, as when I called him to come to me he came running right back up on the deck. So I got both pets in the house and go look out the window and momma was staring in at me and stayed that way for 10 minutes!! She wanted to be sure no one was going to come back out to get near her baby. Lol Geesh. So I'll have to keep an extra eye on Ruby when I let her out for a while. What a wild ride to begin the day.

see what I mean by all the dandelions?

It was such a fun weekend with the kiddos

baked up my homemade chocolate chippers for the weekend

  2. Sounds like you all had a fun weekend, nice that your daughter is feeling more relaxed with Matt's side of the family and Kris is enjoying some new things :) Oh how nice your shed looks, we need to do the same thing, get rid of things.
Glad everything worked out ok with mama deer, that would be scary. We don't let our cats out, too may coyotes in our area. but you have to let Ruby out so hopefully no more run ins :)

  4. It is lovely to see you all having fun in the Springtime, and that your blended families are all enjoying time together. The mother deer is so sweet, protecting her little one like that. I wonder if she will stay around. That looks like a great shed, and so neat and tidy (I must show that to the man in my life, lol!). xoxox
