Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Monday dear Friends! ☀️

We're having a very sunny warm start to our week. How's things where you are? We have fire alerts because it's been so unseasonably hot (upper 80's) and windy and dry around here. Hopefully we get the rain they're predicting later in the week. πŸ™πŸ»

Did those that celebrate have a wonderful Mother's Day? I sure hope so!! It was a lovely one here. Annie made it home in time (back from college) that we could celebrate her birthday and Mother's Day - as it was her bday yesterday too. How my baby is 19 already I'll never know. ::sigh::

We had celebrated Matt's Mom during last week and spent time up at the lake cottage. Then yesterday after mass we picked up my Mom and step Dad and took them to a brunch buffet. My Bro and SIL joined us all too. Then we came back and played games all afternoon and visited and just enjoyed chill time.

It was so nice because my son and his partner Jill came up Friday and stayed here. So we were up in the wee hours playing Mario Party and other games. Jill even made a card for me and gave me a lovely pansy plant all on their own. I also received the sweetest heartfelt cards from all the kiddos. A new perfume I had talked about (I got complimented on the fragrance by a woman in church! Lol) A new fun game, some of my favorite wine, a wildflower shortbread mold pan, and other fun little goodies. Matt got me a card and cute little gardening shirt too. Geesh, I was feeling the love!!

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:

iced coffee with protein splash and almond milk creamer, 1/2 of a ciabatta roll toasted with a little natural pb and cherry rhubarb jam (was hungry this AM)

ON MY TO DO LIST THIS WEEK:

errands with Annie, pest control come to spray, get more plants & dirt etc(start planting), craft projects, hospice work

THINKING ABOUT:

Working on changing my daily routine/structure and doing my workout first thing in the morning once I'm awake and warmed up. I'm less likely to get distracted or to count on a Matt and me walk that may not happen later in the day. So I did my workout, including my arm workout with resistance bands, first thing this morning and loved it! Also thinking about some other habits I want to add or change into my daily routine. I'm truly loving this health journey I'm on and feeling so good!! πŸ’—

THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY:

When we're all gathered around and Matt & I and the kids get into deep talks :)

CURRENTLY READING

The Pumpkin Spice Cafe, I've also started The Glucose Revolution by Jessie Inchauspe that Matt's Mom turned me onto

ON THE TV TODAY:

The Rookie , Jeopardy(& Masters), Shark Tank, Survivor, TWD catch up, Ghosts, Call the Midwife, The Handmaids Tale, Vacation House Rules & Castle Impossible (HGTV), cooking shows.

ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:

MONDAY - Annie's bday dinner request: tortellini pasta with alfredo cream sauce and asparagus (Matt & I will do healthy noodles and add Italian chicken sausage), bruschetta with garlic bread rounds, salad
DQ ice cream cake (also Annie's pick this year)

TUESDAY -  marinated grilled steak and veggies

WEDNESDAY - tacos

THURSDAY -  breakfast for dinner (pancakes for Annie - eggs with chili crunch for Matt & I), red breakfast potatoes (Annie fave), veggies & fruit, maybe bacon or sausage too

FRIDAY - leftovers or out for dinner?

TO RELAX THIS WEEK I WILL:

read, hang with Matt's folks, weed out in the yard in the sunshine :)

TIPS OR SOMETHING TO SHARE:

I love changing out the background wallpapers on my iphone for different seasons and these were the 3 I was considering for now. I went with the first one...and thought maybe you'd like fun options for your phone:

FROM THE CAMERA:

Lake cottage moments inside and out. We got Matt's Mom her hanging baskets while we were there visiting with his folks. And we celebrated Mother's Day with her a little early. I planted a few baskets that she wanted a specific way too. πŸŒΈπŸ’—  We gave her the gift basket I shared in the prior post and we had also grabbed her these cute Wizard of Oz figures at an antique store (as she has a special connection to that show).

Back at home it has been getting more green, leaves are finally coming out on our trees and the bay has sure been sparkling. ☀️🌱  Matt got me my hanging baskets and I've started to get some flowers going here too.

And we got to celebrate this little Cutie turning 19 yesterday (although we're doing her bday dinner tonight).

My cards this year were SO special and touching. πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—

I know I shared Sue's basket the other day - and this was my Mom's basket of sunshine πŸ‹πŸ’›

Beautiful moon the other night. 😍
And in other news - we got Ruby a new dog bed....but Bubba immediately moved in and claimed it!! πŸ˜‚

PRAYER LIST:

For an end to the conflicts all over the world and anyone living in war & fear. For peace and unity in this country, especially from hate and shootings or violence.  For anyone sick, suffering, in pain, fear, loneliness etc ... that God bring them comfort and peace. .

For Christ's Light and Love to cast out the darkness everywhere and help the world find its way. πŸ™πŸ»

PRAYER, INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE OR DEVOTIONAL:

I love mine SO VERY MUCH!!

I hope you have a great week ahead folks. I'm sharing this with Sandra of Diary of a SAHM for Happy Homemaker Monday.

And that photograph of Bubba made me chuckle. I don't think it's Ruby's bed any longer. Xx

  3. Happy Birthday to Annie...and it looks like you all had a great celebration. Your photos are wonderful and there is a lot of beauty in each of them. Isn't it fun to go to the garden centers? I can easily fill up my car with all kinds of gorgeous plants and flowers, and it looks like you may have done the same. The hanging baskets have such striking colors. The basket of sunshine is bright and so cheerful. Carrie...enjoy the rest of your week..you are a true delight to visit...
