Hello Friends!
Another later Monday post. That's just how these summer days have been going folks. Too much busy time or fun (especially with my Annie) to be had I guess. ;) Annie will be back to school before I know it so trying to get lots of our time in too. I need to come and catch up with many of you and I hope to in the days ahead! Please excuse my posting less at the moment too. Again, summer days need to be spent outside and with my girl so I'm on the computer less. I hope to get more posts up this week though.
I hope you had lovely weekend. Ours was busy out of town for Annie's soccer tourney. They didn't do very well, but she had a lot of fun and we even had fun running around a mall and big sports store with Ad too. Adam & Annie were having contests on a simulated soccer and hockey machine. My competitive crew. Lol! And now her soccer season has come to an end, so we'll have even more free time for summer fun before she starts school the end of next month. Now on to the week ahead!
THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:
70's sunny and beautiful! Looks like chance of some storms tomorrow but should be 70's and 80's most of the week.
ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:
toast, watermelon and some iced coffee
RIGHT NOW I AM:
Sitting in my office. Enjoying the peace and quiet actually. Annie is off playing with a friend. Ruby is snuggling at my feet. ;)
AS I LOOK OUTSIDE MY WINDOW:
I see beautiful shining blue skies out my office window! Definitely need to get out and enjoy more of this day! Waiting for my son to drive up the driveway soon as he will be finishing up with work for the day before too long.
AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE:
Need to accomplish a few more tasks, but overall things looking pretty tidy today.
ON TODAY'S (& this week's) TO DO LIST:
Summer hockey heating back up for Annie so she has some practices this week. A tourney is in her near future. Going on a little afternoon trip with friends this week for some me time. Looking forward to that! The other usuals - devotional, exercise, MIL time, a few groceries, other errands etc.
Also, planning on doing our Christmas in July time again this year! Due to things going on it won't work for tomorrow ("the 25th") so will do belated later in the week. Not doing quite as big a deal as last year with specific crafts, or even small gifts etc. But Annie and I are planning to have time with my Mom and have a fun lunch, bake Christmas cutouts, listen to Christmas music all afternoon, and do some coloring in the Christmas coloring books (okay maybe a craft too?), and may even watch a bit of a Christmas movie. That night I'll make turkey cheddar & cranberry sliders, stuffing and mashed potatoes and gravy for dinner. Don't judge people. I love me some Christmas!! ;P
CURRENTLY READING:
Not much new here currently. I've been terrible this summer about books - but good about magazines and newspaper (crosswords!) ;) I hope to be better this Fall as I have SO many books lined up to read!!
ON THE TV TODAY:
I need to catch up on Next Food Network star and Game of Thrones. Watched Grantchester, Big Brother. The Gong Show (new one - anyone remember the old one? Such a corny show!) Have some other shows and movies taped too.
ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:
MONDAY: polish on the grill, corn on the cob, baked beans, veggies, chips, melon
TUESDAY: breakfast for dinner: eggs, toast, leftover polish sausage, fruit
WEDNESDAY: penne pasta, garlic bread, caesar salad (my kiddos' faves)
THURSDAY: turkey cheddar & cranberry sliders, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy (Xmas in July meal)
FRIDAY: not sure - hockey tourney starts
