Wednesday Wonder (& easy dessert)

LATE SUMMER WALKING

With my Ruby Girl

Beautiful bends in the road

Wildflowers in abundance

Lovely peeks at our beautiful bay that I love and know so well

And a reward for doing all of those big hills on our walk: cherry hand pies

EASY HAND PIES (any flavor):

1 box of refrigerated pie crust (2 crusts total)

Fruit filling - any kind, homemade or from a can

1 Tbsp milk

1 Tbsp cinnamon and sugar mixture

Directions: Take refrigerated pie crusts and thaw according to box. Unroll each crust and make a cross cut (+) to make 4 sort of triangles. So you will have 8 semi-triangles total. Fill center of each one with good Tbsp or so of filling. Fold one edge of crust over to other edge and crimp together with fork. Place each hand pie on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.  Cut slit in top of each pie for venting. Brush top with some milk. Sprinkle cinnamon/sugar mixture over top. Bake in preheat 350* F oven for 20 - 30 minutes (depending on your oven and how dark you like your crust). Cool. Pick up and enjoy as is - or put on a plate while warm and add ice cream. Summer perfection and ease. ;)
