I was out and about for most of today, but thought I'd still link up for Five on Friday - so I'm just going to share a bit of this and that.
ONE
My diffuser even has a nightlight - nice for night time, especially if I put it in my daughter's room for a while.
I know that essential oils have been big in the past few years, and I'm a little late to the party, but I've been loving them lately! A couple of friends of mine (& they are fellow hockey mom's) have been very into them lately and sharing lots of fun info and products with me. I finally bought some of my own and have been having fun learning about them! One thing I'm doing regularly is running my diffuser. It's been nice for adding extra moisture to the dry air, but also for picking out what oils I want to use for different properties. I've lately been into lavender for relaxation. Today I have a lavender and lemon oil mix going. So soothing. I've also been adding some essential oils to my water or tea. Peppermint oil has been great for headaches! Just dab some on the temples. I'm looking into making my own soaps, lotion, lip balm, -even deodorant! Love the idea of being so much more natural.
TWO
I've been slowly going through my office/craft room again and getting things organized. I have several projects I want to work on - but difficult without adequate room due to clutter! Plus, it's so fun to find the treasures I run into because of forgetting what I have sometimes! Lol!!
THREE
Ruby continues to be such a bright spot in my day. Tug-of-war is her favorite game by the way. ;) But not only is she fun for me, but my MIL just adores her and Ruby is some of the best therapy she can get!
FOUR
Annie had fun brushing and braiding my hair the other night. Is there anything more blissful than someone brushing and playing with your hair? ::sigh:: Pure heaven! I've been looking at different styles on pinterest and thinking about giving my hair a bit of a chop this Spring!! I haven't had my hair shorter in quite a while - so I'm not positive yet. Here's a few styles I've pinned:

I don't know - it will be a BIG change if I go for it. We'll see!
FIVE
I've been thinking on some new Valentine's Day treats and crafts for fun. Here's a few things from my blog last year. You can find the post for the valentine's bars here. And the post for the valentine bunting here.
Have a wonderful weekend! I'm linking with Amy of Love Made My Home for Five on Friday.

You brave woman! Showing your work space. Love the m&m bars!
ReplyDeleteI have to say that I prefer to do that hair style in Autumn, because it is not short enough for the heat and one can't put one's hair up for Summer. Your hair is such a pretty color. I need a girl!!!
Ha - aren't I just fearless Margot?!? Lol! The M&M bars were as tasty as they were pretty. ;)
DeleteI know what you're saying about the hair length and timing. I don't know if I'll be brave enough to chop so much off anyway. Thanks for the sweet compliment on the color - I have a great beautician (wink wink)! You do need a Girl!! Lol xoxo
Ruby is so sweet! Those Valentine treats look delicious :-) Cute hairstyles too!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
Blessings,
Jill
Thanks so much Jill! Wishing you a wonderful weekend my dear Gal!! xoxo
DeletePlease continue to share about your "essential oil" journey! I have been wanting to learn more but I always end up feeling overwhelmed by it all.
ReplyDeleteI looooove having my hair brushed - so relaxing! The third hairstyle you posted is my favorite.
Have a lovely weekend. We will be snuggled cozily inside awaiting this much anticipated snow storm that you true Northerners would probably laugh at! ;)
I will share as I learn Laura! I'm excited to get more knowledgeable and see which things work for me. It will be fun to use them as a way to make gifts for others too. ;)
DeleteI think of the 3 - the third is my fave style too. I don't know if I'll have the guts to go for it!! Lol
Stay safe and warm Sweetie. Yep, that would just be another weekend to us. Ha!! xoxo
I'm having an essential oil night with my Mops group in Feb and am looking forward to learning more.
ReplyDeleteI miss having kids around to play with my hair. You have some cute ones shown!
Oh that's so cool Mari!! I think you'll find it truly fascinating. There's so much wonderful natural ways to treat many things - let alone to make your own cleaners, personal products etc.
DeleteThanks LOvie. Have a great weekend! xoxo
My daughter has become really interested in essential oils lately. I like making my own concentrated "teas" with real herbs, but I haven't grown my own since we've been here in the desert. Making potpourris and sachets with them is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI'm fascinated by the things I'm learning about the oils. I love anything that's more natural or that I'm in control of the ingredients. Love the tea and potpourri ideas too!! ;)
DeleteBlessings. xoxo
Hi Carrie, I think I need one of those diffusers! A new shop opened up nearby with essential oils and things for making soaps, etc. so maybe I can find one there. The peppermint oil would be great for my migraines. Your hairstyle ideas are really cute. My daughter just chopped her long hair into a similar style and she loves it. Ruby has the sweetest face - what's not to love? I laughed when you mentioned finding things in your craft supplies that you forgot you had. I think that happens to all of us - so many plans, so little time! Lol! You always have the best recipes.....Hope you stay safe and warm this weekend, my friend. Hugs xo Karen
ReplyDeleteHey Sweetie!! I think you'd LOVE a diffuser. Such a fun way to add natural scent to your home as well as healing properties! ;)
DeleteYour daughter's are both so beautiful and could carry off any hairdo! I'll have to wait and see if I get that brave. Lol!
Ruby is my Baby - she really is the biggest lover. I bet your furry boys would be great friends with her. ;)
I'm having fun going through all my clutter - I really am finding many new things I forgot about. It's like Christmas all over!! Haha!
Blessings dear Friend. xoxo
I love the idea of essential oils and using them to make soaps and such. Love your valentines bunting.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Sweetie!! I'm having such fun learning more about the oils and accumulating many ideas for things I want to make! I'll share here down the line. ;)
DeleteBlessings. xoxo
Lovely Valentines ideas! I have to confess that I haven't given it any thought yet! Hope that you enjoy using your new oils and that they help you to relax, lavender is lovely for that isn't it. Hope too that you enjoy your new haircut! Thank you for joining Five On Friday, happy weekend! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy-girl!! ;)
DeleteJust started to think some Valentine's thoughts. It's not something we make a huge deal about over here - but fun as I know it's one sign closer to Spring!! Lol
Have a wonderful weekend Doll! xoxo
To just screenshot the Valentine bars!!!! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteAnd your puppy. Adorable.
Puppies are the best therapy for us all. : )
Have a cozy weekend, my friend!
Ha! Glad you liked it Billie Jo - pretty & yummy! ;)
DeleteAmen on the puppy therapy. Ruby is my baby forever!! Lol
Happy cozy weekend to you and stay warm and safe. xoxo
I think you are my long lost twin - I LOVE having someone brush my hair, I could sit there all day, it's much more relaxing that a massage or anything. Someone brushing your hair while you sit next to a lavender diffuser with a dog on your feet and Superdoodle pens to colour with whilst eating Valentine chocs - HEAVEN lol!!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a fab weekend Carrie,
Jillxo
OH we ARE twins Jill!! This gave me the best giggle!! Love it!
DeleteThanks Doll and sending you tingly relaxing hair brushing, lavender soothing, creative colorful, chocolatey wishes. ;)
xoxo
I was late to the essential oil party as well but Peppermint is great for headaches! I usually just put a few drops of the oils in a pan on the stove, probably should look into a diffuser. Those treats look yummy!
ReplyDeleteBetter late than never, though, right Jean? ;)
DeleteI'm just loving gobbling up info about it all. I think you'd LOVE a diffuser!! I move it all around my house depending on where I am and what I'm doing. It just runs automatically for 4 hours at a time so you don't even need to keep track of it.
Blessings! xoxo
Cute bunting! And that traybake looks fabulous :-) I love essential oils too, lavender is a fav, I often put a few drops in little miss's bath water to calm her down before bedtime. It works on me too! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Sweetie!! ;) Lavender is just the best for calm. Smells so nice too.
DeleteBlessings to you! xo
Love the diffuser and the second hair style is REALLY cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tamy!! I'm hoping I'll have the guts to go for it! ;)
Deletexoxo
:D Ruby!! I LOVE having my hair brushed!! Ooohhhh….I love those styles you picked out (me-ow, lol) For the life of me I still cannot figure out how to do those soft beachy waves!! I think those tousled looks are the hardest to do, lol. I usually wear my hair in a pony tail, and it is so thin now, UGH!! I used to have such thick hair.
ReplyDeleteThose valentine bars look yummy…will.have.to.try. :)
Ha! Love the "meow" sweet kitty! ;) They are some pretty foxy looks aren't they? I still don't know if I'll have the guts - plus then there won't be as much hair for Annie to brush! Lol!! My is so much more fine now too - and used to be so thick. ::sigh:: Aging can take a flying leap sometimes.
ReplyDeleteBlessings Babes xoxo
