I often get sad that during this time of year the days grow shorter and the nights get longer. I embrace the glow at night and that helps. I love that cozy feeling of the wind blowing outside and candles, or when it really gets cold - a fire, glowing in the night. Here's some recent favorite glowing moments around my home.
ONE
Kitchen glow - I love this pumpkin on my kitchen counter with my battery candle that glows in the night as I cook.
TWO
Real candle glow - I have many battery operated candles. I do love the timer aspect of many of them so they light up each night without me even having to think about it. But there is something about the glow of a real candle in the night that really touches the soul and warms it up.
THREE
Mantle glow - in each season I love having several things that glow on or around the mantle of our fireplace in our formal living room.
FOUR
Tiny golden moments - I love the little places that are unexpected to find something glowing. Like among the teacups in my china hutch, or a tealight in the little owl, or even in a jack-o-lantern picture on the wall!
FIVE
The room glow - I love looking into a room and seeing candles and lamps glowing and filling the whole room with their warm light.
As I sip my warm tea and smell my slow cooker homemade chicken noodle soup simmer I send you cozy glowing thoughts for a wonderful weekend! I'm linking up with Amy from Love Made my Home for Five on Friday.

So pretty! I love all candle light as well. It makes a room seem so much cozier. I particularly love your owl. I have a "thing" for owls and that is adorable! Enjoy your tea and your chicken noodle soup... Have a wonderful weekend :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Deb!! I have a thing for owls too. ;) That one is from Pier 1 Imports.

Few things are as cozy as candlelight, and your pictures certainly can attest to that fact. I'm not a huge fan of losing daylight, and next week it will be even worse, but to everything there is a season so why not make the most if it and turn on that slow cooker, light those candles and get that fireplace going!

Agreed dear Doreen!! Keep that glow going on those dark chilly nights. ;)

DeleteWhat lovely ways to add beauty and cozy corners to the darkening days of autumn/winter. I love the glow. Those battery candles are wonderful. Hubby never liked me having candles around, but now I can light up all kinds of corners without him worrying about fires and cat's tail swishing past.
ReplyDeleteA very cozy post. Thank you!
Wishing you a beautiful week ahead,
Brenda
Oh I know - aren't they a wonderful thing Brenda!! I especially love that i can set the timers and have them pop on by themselves each night. If we're gone so nice to come home to some candles glowing. ;) xo
