RECIPE FOR A PERFECT LIBRARY DAY
Begin with one library with a wonderfully fun kiddo section.
Add an adorable pinch of Grandma and a competitive checkers game!
Stir in the color and fun of a festive tree. Our library has their tree decorated for each season. For summer right now it has different photos of historical moments (think July 4th, astronaut), neat artwork, pop icons (Elvis), and fun comic book words like "zap" and "ka-pow".
Add the main ingredient - a great pile of new books to read and a pretty book bag to carry them all.
Add the spice of making a new friend. This little gal asked to sit with us at our table so she could work on the art project of the month the library provides.
Add the zest of some fun puzzles!
Finish with a dash of gratitude for another fun library visit and a full book bag. (and maybe go out for a little ice cream)
Wow! I want to go to your library please! I especially like the eternal Christmas tree, what a fab idea :)
ReplyDeleteWell next time you're in town we shall take you dear Jill. Lol ;)
DeleteSo nice to hear from you! Hope your summer is going well.
Blessings. xoxo
What a fun library!! Our library has like 4 classes on Monday for the younger kids, and once a week for the teenagers. I especially love our library, since it's right across the street!! You and Annie might want to check out the site bedtimemath.org, and click on the Fun Nightly Math tab. It has interesting math problems to do, Benji and I visit the site since our library does the Crazy 8's Math.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carrie Ann! How handy that yours is right across the street! Thanks for the great tip on the link!! Annie & I will definitely check that out. ;)

Wow - your library looks a lot of fun. Love the seasons tree what a great idea. Joan at www.aviewtothefells.com
ReplyDeleteThanks Joan! I think the tree is such a fun idea too and we always love to see how they'll decorate it next. ;) xo
DeleteI just love those giant checkers! I still have my sons' game like that one. Hopefully someday I will have grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteI am making progress in my kitchen.
Those checkers are one of Annie's fave things! We always have to play a game or 2 when we go.
DeleteHope you have grandkids some day too Margot! What a fun granny you'd be. ;)
And YAY for kitchen progress!! ::applause::

Wait a minute…did you say ice cream??? I covet the book bag. :-/
ReplyDeleteOh yes - must end with a little treat. ;)
DeleteThe bag was from Barnes and Noble for a great deal! xo
What a fun library! I like all the extras!
ReplyDeleteWe love them too Mari! ;)

We have a great library with an outstanding children's program. Plus, we live in a pretty small town so all the librarians know us & are happy to lend an extra hand with my crew... Needless to say we frequent our library often too! Though I have yet to treat the boys to ice cream afterwards... :)
ReplyDeleteI love the checkers and the Christmas tree!
I love to see our library still a busy bustling place too Laura! We have lots of neat children's programs as well and it seems the kiddo section is always busy. Some do play on the computers there, but for the most part very little electronics going on and it makes me happy!!
DeleteYay for small towns and getting that helping hand with your boys. ;)
xo
I hope you definitely went out for ice cream!! Libraries are a fantastic place to spend some time. Love the photos!! What a great day!
ReplyDeleteOh don't worry Terri - never have to twist my arm for ice cream! ;) It's always a fun time when we go.

That certainly looks like a great library to visit! I do like their nifty way of not having to find a storage place for the Christmas tree too! :-) xx
ReplyDeleteI thought that was pretty smart too! Plus it's fun to see how they decorate it each time ;)
DeleteWhat a welcoming place your library looks! We go often to ours too :-) xx
ReplyDeleteThx Alison - we do love it and visit often. ;)
