Cozy Giveaway!

Happy Tuesday everyone!!

For those of you friends in the States - the countdown is on to Thanksgiving!! I meant to post this earlier today, but didn't get a chance to with all of my furniture topsy turvy, and I couldn't get to my computer. It was the last day for the carpet layers and now it's all done!! Yay!! Now the not so fun part of cleaning all the furniture that's still misplaced and putting it all back. Lol

I was also gone for the afternoon grabbing all of my turkey day groceries, as I wasn't able to go yesterday. Lots of crowds, but I was able to get everything. Double yay!! Now on to the fun at hand...I'm finally ready to open up my one year blogaversary giveaway! I wanted it to include fun cozy time of year things, but also things that I love. So there's some scrapbooking goodies and some food and cooking kinds of things, as well as a couple of holiday goodies.

If you remember from a prior post, part of the giveaway includes this  binder/scrapbook kit. With the lined pages it would be perfect to do a personalized recipe cookbook, like the one I'm making for my Annie. I will be writing down my cinnamon spiced sugared pecans recipe in the book - they are so perfect for this time of year and make wonderful gifts! I will be including scrapbook type adhesive (if you want to attach recipes or use the smaller papers as recipe cards and attach them). I also plan to include a scrapbook quality marker for journaling and embellishments and some cooking/baking related stickers.

I will also be including this fun wild rice pancake mix and pure maple syrup. All from the area in which I live here in the northwoods. Wild rice is very big around here!

I will be making my cinnamon spiced sugared pecans and loading up this adorable tin with them.  (I will put in sealed baggie to help insure they remain good if they happen to go on a long journey).

To go with the food theme I'll also be including this fun and goofy "ugly sweater" towel. And of course a few holiday ornaments are in order so I have an ornament of one of the Great Lakes - Lake Superior (the big lake where I live) that was handcrafted by a local artist. That way you can always remember me at this time of year dear blogland friend. And this adorable stained glass snowman that can be hung as an ornament, or will have a suction cup with it if you want to hang it in your window.

All you need to do to be entered into the giveaway drawing is to leave me a comment below about your favorite part of the holidays. I will send to anyone and you do not need to have a blog or be in the U.S. to win. I will leave the drawing open for one week. So the drawing will end next Tuesday evening December 1st and I will announce the winner next Wednesday December 2nd. I'm so grateful for all of you wonderful blogland friends. Thanks so much to all who stop by to visit my blog and to all of you who comment and make my day on a regular basis. It means so much to me and helps this world feel like a smaller cozier place! Blessings to you all and good luck!

What's my favorite part? Well, this year it's that my daughter is back in the states, but normally it's just the feeling of togetherness and goodwill that the season brings.

  6. Such a fun giveaway! My very most favorite part of the holidays is doing for others whether it's being a secret Santa, volunteering to serve a meal at a homeless shelter or baking goodies for all the neighbors. This year we are going to hand out blankets and coats to the homeless. But in the end, my very favorite part is being at home with my family.

  7. I love Christmas. I love that it brings people together. Every year I begin baking on the first Sunday in advent in preparation for December 1st when the Kitchen is decorated and is the hub of Christmas. All who enter our home from this day will always be offered many different home baked cookies. I love the feeling of giving and sharing. Just love it. I post on my blog everyday in December too what a wonderful give away and happy first blog adversary

What a wonderful giveaway, my mouth is watering at the mention of those pecans!!
My favourite part of the Christmas holidays is cosying up at home with my family and preparing lots of yummy things to eat, house filled with the scent of cinnamon, spices, mulled wine on the hob. Is it too early in the day for a mince pie?? Have a great week, lovely lady! xx

    1. Thanks so much Alison! I'm so blessed to have you as a blogland friend too. You always make me smile. ;)

My son was asking what a mince pie was the other day and I was trying to describe it to him. They're not traditional over here. We were watching an old episode of the show Vicious on PBS and they were talking about one.. Lol! I may need to research a recipe so I can make one this season....although I'm not sure how my Crew will receive it. I've had one before and loved it!

      Blessings and good luck! xoox

  16. I've been so busy online shopping (since that's the only way I can shop at this time in my life!!! ;) I almost missed this! Thanks for the heads up, Carrie!
Food and stationary - what a perfect giveaway combo! And that maple syrup, yes please! I can't stand the sugared up bottled kind although my husband swears by it!
I love your question because it made me really think! I actually read the question earlier and wanted some time to reflect before answering so thank you for inspiring me to reflect on this!
My favorite thing about Christmas is tradition, especially now that my mom is no longer here with us to celebrate. While within my family I advocate that the focus remain on the real meaning of Christmas, Christ's birth, I love that the Christmas season is a time that most families and cultures and appreciate and celebrate in their own way. I think God is so humble that uses the birth of his Son to bring families together whether they acknowledge Him or not. Every culture has tradition and tradition brings families together and unites them. It breaks my heart that my children will never get to celebrate Christmas with their Grandma (my mom) because she always made this holiday SO special and I know she would have gone above and beyond to make it extra extra special for her grandchildren but, I have so many happy memories of Christmas traditions that she will ALWAYS be a part of Christmas in my home.
Sorry for my looooong response! ;)

    1. Your heart and mine beat the same dear sweet Friend! Totally had me tearing up reading this. I couldn't agree more and just 2nd everything you said about how Jesus brings families together - whether they've been the center of their lives or not. Love that!!

My heart breaks for your kiddos too, but I think having such a treasure of a Mom makes up a bit for missing their Grandma. Your Mom absolutely lives on through you and how you now share in these moments with them. And during this season of Angels - I just think of your Mom as the most perfect angel watching over you all. And now your Grandma too. You have 2 angels that know your names. ;)

I think it would be awesome to write down your favorite memories and things your Mom did to make Christmas so special so your kiddos will always have it somewhere to look back upon too.

I just love this so much dear Laura! Blessings to you and good luck with the drawing. xoxo
